For real, though, I'm glad this DLC was the one to get the timed-exclusion treatment. If it was a serious bit of content like Citadel then that might be a little painful to wait for.

I think we're looking at 2-4 weeks. 30 days seems to be pretty standard

Oh dang, I'm not too familiar with the timed exclusives time frames in all honesty. I was basing off Destiny in the back of my mind I guess. PS owners get stuff that XBox owners won't get for quite a while. But hopefully what you're saying is the more realistic option for those having to wait.

I may just have been trying to reassure myself because a Destiny-like delay hadn't even occurred to me for DLC until your post. :| The timed DLC I could think of offhand all had a 30 day delay but Googling a little now, looks like other franchises have had up to 6 months. Oh well, time to go back to clinging to my shaky logic about the gag order on the release date for other consoles. :\

I'm quite amused people aren't so sure about spending 15 bucks. That will all be spent on some things anyway.

Right, but what that $15 is allocated to could be the difference for most. You are correct in assuming that $15 from my piggy bank will eventually be spent. That $15 won't make a dent in my monthly house payment, but at least it's going towards something that takes precedence over 3-4 hours of entertainment. (Don't give me the get a higher paying job/break up with your significant other/downsize monthly costs... That's Gamefaqs mentality)

This is coming from someone who has bought all the DLC for Mass Effect and DA1-2... Why the change of heart? Honestly it was Omega DLC. I just didn't think it was worth $15. All my opinion, but ever since I've been money conscious on the extra content.

Rather I wish PC DLC would go on sale. I've never seen a sale for PC owners while PSN and XBL gets their 50-75% sales. I don't have to play this DLC immediately, but offer it to me later down the road at a discounted price, sure I'll bite. Maybe since they've done away with BW points, maybe we will see some sales?

100+ GOTY's why change it? It's more than 5 hours if you do everything. I'm already 5 hours in and there is still a good chunk left, probably more than half

Mmm don't know what to do about this DLC. I need to get some unbiased opinion before deciding whether to get it or not.

To me the main DAI game is a low 7 out of 10... nothing special. And pillars of eternity is coming out in 2 days. I'm sorry, but unless someone who didn't like the main game tells me this DLC is truly stellar I think I'll pass.

Well, the price of the DLC here (it's "cheaper" than converting directly from dollar) I can fuel my motorcycle to ride for 3 weeks (maybe a full month if only ride for work). Or I can buy full PSN games with more playing time. I guess it's not about spend or not spend, it's more into where to spend that money.

 

I will probably wait for a sale on PSN when it comes out, even knowing DLC sales are not that common...

They're recommending level 20+. Most of the things I've fought are level 24. I don't know if that's the same for everybody or because my toon was level 24 when I started the DLC.

$14.99 US = $19.04 AU (Currency conversion changes frequently, so an even 20 would forgivable.)

 

Listed origins price for Australians: $24.99 AU

 

Its smaller than a lot of "Australian Tax" I guess.

I have the game for both PC and PS4. But I will be waiting for this DLC to play on PS4. I'm glad it's not a character based DLC. That makes the forced wait much easier.From what I've watched in streams, the $15 is a little high, but I'm a sucker for Dragon Age so I will end up paying to satisfy the completionist in me.

But its still the same kind of content the game already had a wealth of. It takes forever to finish what the game already has and the vast majority of it is completely optional. Why add more of that rather than more story DLC or more content that actually changes or improves the game ( new features, new abilities, new party members, etc ). You know, the things people have actually been clamouring for.

 

I mean if they had just made a DLC that added a full Scout Harding romance they could have made bank for a lot less work. >.>

Holy crap it's $24.99 in Australia. I've never seen dlc cost so much. For that price I'd almost expect an expansion. If people are saying it's not worth $15 I'm not sure how I can justify paying that much.

Yup. Fun, ain't it? And that AU$24.99 is equivalent to ~US$20 so we're really being gouged. I expected to see it at AU$20 because that would more or less match with the exchange rate and the pricing of US$15 but I guess the Australia Tax strikes again.

 

But I wouldn't stress about it. From what I've seen trawling the forums today, it adds nothing to the main game story line or any companion stories so it's essentially an optional extra. At $25, I am going to opt out.

Also exchange rates don't really reflect the purchasing power for goods and services generally (interest rates are the main drivers). Id be surprised if $15 really got you less generally in America than it did here. Regardless we are getting roughly a 25% surcharge (assuming an exchange rate equivalent of $US20). Someone should mention this to the consumer watchdog lol

It's very strange to see Brazil paying less for game... US$15 is about R$50 now, but the DLC price is R$29 here.

 

But our PS4 price is still around US$1,275, for example.

Not for Aussies, it's not there - we'd have to use a VPN (and likely a non-Aussie registered account) to see/access it.

 

And while they have the price so high, for what it is... I'll be not be buying it. I';ll wait till it's on heavy sale or part of a pack where it's reasonably priced.

I'll be doing the same, though I can't recall seeing DLC on sale on Origin before. Mind you, I haven't really been looking since I barely have any games there so I could be wrong.
