I knew there would be timed exclusive for DLC, which is crappy enough, but not even saying when it will release on other platforms? That's more then a little ridiculous. A $15 exclusive DLC isn't going to move consoles and not telling anyone else when they get to play the content is just a jerk move. Granted it's Microsoft's jerk move, but Bioware was happy to agree to it to get money.

 

I've had a few issues with DAI overall, but it didn't sour my view of Bioware. This, however, did.

The first DLC was always going to be exclusive, this has been known for months. Where have you been exactly?

It's interesting to see that the last-gen console versions officialy became a joke by now (not even Microsoft exclusivity can save the Xbox360 version it seems), I really feel bad for everyone who bought them.

 

I don't. If you can't figure out that those last gen toasters can't play a next gen game without extreme scalability then the consequences are on you.

I was holding off on another playthrough to wait for any DLC, and I was already aware of the timed exclusive nonsense, which everyone knows (or should know) was born from a contract penned by Satan himself. But no timetable on other platforms? Stupid NDA's. A pox on its author.

The crazy thing is, it seems they've just ticked off their largest player base. If MP is an accurate reflection on player numbers PS4 has the largest player base across all platforms.

I wonder if they didn't expect that the PS4 version would do so well when they made this deal.

Is this DLC post-endgame or pre-endgame? I've already finished FOUR gameplays and I don't think I have the energy to start a new one :-(

It's annoying because more copies of DA:I has been sold on the PS4. It sucks XBone gets first dibs. Oh well, hopefully PS4 players get this soon.

I am not quite sure it is entitlement. PS4 users paid the same amount for their games and they will be paying the same amount for the game's dlc. I think most just want to be treated the same as anyone else. That isn't really entitlement. Honestly, I completely understand their frustration with it. If it were me, I would be a little tiff'd too.

I'm honestly curious. How is wanting the same level of access to DLCs, no matter what platform you play on, "entitlement"?

 

Simply put, by the time PS3, PS4, and 360 gain access to this DLC... there will be little point in playing it, given that it will have been spoiled long before.

 

I mean, maybe if we got the DLC for $5 instead of $15... but I don't see that happening, do you?

Just based on console sales, EA backed the wrong horse thus far this generation. And this is a result of it.

 

I've been waiting for DLC for DAI... and now I'll continue to do so.

This actually may be a bad deal for Bioware/EA unless it is a fab dlc. If the dlc gets a bad rap, then many PS players wont be buying, and I believe there are sinificantly more PS4 players than XBOX. Had it been released for all platforms the same day, good or bad, they would probably have a lot more sales... silly EA for making this deal.

I asked elsewhere but is the Black Emporium also going to be released as an exclusive. I sure hope not.

Same here. Im going to get spoiled eventually, and i only play this game for the story because the gameplay isn't very fun and engaging. Therefore i might as well youtube it tomorrow.

PC player here, and I'm not going to be a part of this bum deal. I won't buy this DLC until it's out for other platforms. If I have lost interest until then, too bad.

STOP, **** your stupid deals, I have been nothing but loyal and bought your game. If I had known you were still going to ride Micosoft's ****, even as PS4 outsells by almost half. If you are going to screw us, at least tell us the timetable because I finished your game and without DLC I'm not playing it. Give me a reason to play it, don't act like everything is fine and you did nothing wrong.

This release is bizarre though.. PC never gets exclusivity. I mean there's steam, but that's different.

 

Pillars of Eternity will come out in two days. That's the reason for the early PC release of the DLC.

As a PC player, early DLC is nice and definitely unexpected - but the big draw with PC was always the ability to mod, edit and tailor your game. Compared to that, whether DLC releases today or in six weeks is of minor importance.

It seems like wasted effort to complain about a business deal that Sony refused on so they can promote their own service in the end, let alone get mad at the practice of exclusive DLC since Sony does it all the time as well.

 

I guess the fact that i'm patient about most things helps in this case. It will come, I don't need it to come today to get my fix.

And yes, that's the only problem I see with the DLC being out later on other platforms.
I am in the middle of a playthrough anyway, I wouldn't be picking the DLC up until I am finished.

 

By the way, I hope we get to see a less "silly" side of Avvars: I always found them fascinating.

Sony have nothing to do with this deal. It's not exclusive for EA Access.
