Content always gets cut from games.  The alternative to paying for it in the form of DLC is not seeing it at all.  The developers do need to make money and pay the bills, same as the rest of us lowly mortals

Gosh, I wish I never had to pay bills. That would be nice. Or hell I'd settle for not paying taxes. :P

CD projekt red seems to not care about that, lol :P

They make enough money from DA I and everything else to offer an actual DLC that isn't just cut content packaged up and presented as one. The game already has plenty of fighting. What it's missing is more character interaction, story, and you can never go wrong with cutscenes.

Anyway, it's something I'd get. Just not for 15 bucks, not yet anyway. Dragonborn was 15 bucks... that's my new standard for 15 dollar dlc. That and shivering isles.

Shivering Isles was freaking awesome. IMO best DLC to date.

Cheese for everyone!

LOL!

Yay for CD projekt!

Sadly, judging from the stream (that's now offline) it seems like there's more fighting and fetch quest than character interaction, story.

Well, that explains the lack of hamming it up for hype. Ah well.

I bet part of it is just the game being so large. It takes up so much just from that. Wouldn't be surprised if they tried charging 20 25 bucks for a real dlc, gave you three large levels with one actual main mission and called it an expansion. And filled with fetching to increase "gameplay" time. ugh

At least they're giving all the DLC for free.

From what I've seen the new area is large. It already takes a lot of time traveling, and not to mention there seems to be a number of fetch quest that'll take you forth and back. That's even more expensive than DA2 and Origins story DLC. I rather have real expansion, and that's that. Kinda hate how BioWare's lost their creative spirit, and trying to be similar to other games.

Oh that top comment on my last comment was directed to this :) It was odd to me that Bioware didn't put on heavy advertising for their first dlc, but this makes sense. It's just the price one can expect for this sort of thing now. Now that they can justify a game price with size over quality. To be expected.

Either that or this is just pulling a Hinterlands and all the good stuff is in there somewhere, you just have to get deep enough. I almost quit DA I at first because I got stuck on the hinterlands, lol. After Redcliffe, I was happy. Really happy.

My highest level inqui is level 18 , haven't done the Winter Palace yet...(I finished the game twice but deleted those saves , save game limits I hate you)

Probably going to take me more time to level up and gear up than actually playing the DLC. :crying:

It was odd, indeed. I remembered last night seeing a thread about the leaked achievements list, and now we actually have real information followed by release date and trailer.  Usually, they'll announce the DLC one month or two before releasing it. The price is a bit steep, but I suppose it's to be expected. Well, I got this from the DLC thread in scuttlebutt section. It's quite lengthy, but that make sense, consider the sheer size of the new zone alone, and not to mention a number of fetch quests.

Just finished it. Took about 5-6 hours (not super completionist) could be rushed in 2-3 if you knew where everything was.

Ending was pretty good, definitely a decent DLC. Though the price maybe a bit high. Some really good funny bits. Nice new items and materials.

I'm still thinking, much depends on this '' final '' for me.

Ah k that's good. I'll still wait for a price drop but I'm glad it's not garbage, supposedly.

I think I'm just going to wait for someone to finish it and release a walkthrough of it. I don't think I'm ready to make a decision yet.

I don't have problem with the bit steep price, but I just wanted to make sure it's worth every penny. Frankly, I even think DA2's DLC quality is decent, but not that great so this couldn't be complete disaster, supposedly.

Is there an actual reason for to buy the dlc ouside the grinding? I am under the impression that the story is not there.

Oh? Could you please provide more information regarding to story content/character interaction in the DLC. I haven't got much from the stream. Eh, please don't spoil anything vital.  ;)

$15 seems a bit high. $10 would have been fine, but those ME DLCs were way overpriced with no Season Pass. Imagine an armor/weapon pack for $15....

Here's the Frostback Basin's exploration video, credit goes to McFlyy28 and SomberXIII (I assume he's the same person who upload this video)

Spoiler

The new zone looks nice, but perhaps too empty and seems to involve a lot of walking, fighting, fetch quests and not much of cutscenes and choices IMO.
