(commenting late on the whole offensive vs not thing) 

 

I am by no means a saint and nor do I think I'm any proprietor of social justice. I swear more than is probably necessary and I'm certainly crass now and again.  And I don't think I could be considered PC. (Though I don't think I would want to lol)

 

But the problem I find with this whole being offended or not having the time to care about offending people. Just makes one sound socially inept. Either that or you understand the probable offense that is caused and are apathetic to it. Which, at least to me, makes you look like a jackass. I get it's the interweb and I totally understand someone some where is going to be triggered/offended/mind raped/whatever.  Just sometimes  it makes me wonder if people have any decency or tact anymore.

 

Maybe I'm too sensitive I guess.

 

Sometimes I can be rather vulgar or make dry/dark humorous jokes and people might take offense to it, but I mean no perniciousness. It's impossible to please everyone, but I really don't see the problem in using phrases people might find offensive as long as I'm not directly (or indirectly) calling anyone such names. Sometimes I'll throw pointless insults at my friends on the forums but that's usually it.

 

But all anmity, arbitration and lashing out is really a form of suffering. Humans have evolved to suffer, and we are better at suffering than anything else tbh.

 

When we give nothing for the cheap shots to stick to, then something could change in the world. Just don't say a thing. In fact, it is usually better not to say anything at all. The ones who suffer on the inside, but not showing it on the outside are usually not too ardent on someone pointing out to them that they are in torment.

People just need to understand the full situation and move on. But the art of not being offended can help us experience less suffering and perhaps we have a chance to make the world a better place.

 

But some people don't want help, they'd just prefer to dwell in their own world. Either offer understanding or walk away.

I understand full well intent and perception are at play in the matter. I guess my comment was more of a vent at just how blatantly uncouth people can be.
