Laidlaw even talked about ... "more areas" ... in addition to this "Solas-story-DLC" in the Eurogamer-interview! If they plan on implementing new areas with this DLC I don't know. Just as much as I don't know  ... how ... they plan to do it. We'll see. Man, I thought we had enough areas already! Sounds like wasted time that could have gone instead into filling out these big areas with new story, characters and keeps ...

But I get ahead of myself! We'll see ...

Do not want.

For DA4 you won't even get to pick skills when you level up. It will be like Diablo 3. You get your abilites at set levels, and pick whichever you want to use. And stats will be all gone. Its the next step in the simplification quest.

Why would my character need stats? It's an action game, the only stats that matter are mine. The next game will start with 3 awesome buttons. Awesome magic, awesome attack and awesome rogueing. The more of one button you press the more the other options will disappear, eventually you will end up with the class you deserve - it's revolutionary.

One day I will venture to this forum and there won't be 10 topics of people whining, today is not that day.

Since I already made a topic about Skyrimization I offer you another possible "inspiration"
http://en.wikipedia....e_Frozen_Throne

They are going to make this game even worse (I don't not how it would be possible yet but I'm sure they found a way, they exceed at failing)

Why don't you STFU until you can make an informed assessment!

I would have thought instead of yet another vast and empty landscape (according to reports from people who have already played it), they could just as easily have set this new "adventure" in one of the current areas with a cave entrance opening up a huge dungeon instead (something that is sorely lacking in this game IMO).

And the report of more shard collecting really sucks the life out of me...

But I seriously doubt we're going to get tactics now in the game. It's dumb but we'll have to wait till DA4 for that.

You're that hopeful hu? Hm.. 3-4 yours down the road.... by that time games will come with voice command awareness and head tracking input device controls. Bio will still be tackling KB+M, if they ever get their shyte together.

Do not want.

Let's hope it won't come to that.

But then again ... I really wish there were the possibility of changing the whole game into something other than a SP MMO.

UGH ... <_<

Sounds like EA wants to kill the last loyal fan of the old BioWare - huh?

It is certainly cheaper to build some shards into a DLC than to lie to us in expensive PR ... and get rid of us that way -_-

Let's hope they understood by now: shards = BAD

They'll need to try harder. It'll take more than this to drive away folks like Realmzmaster and Elhanan. Hell, they couldn't even drive Sylvius away this time, and he's got very specific criteria for what makes a game tolerable.

Don't collect the Shards currently, except for those I wish. I have no complaints for such content as long as it remains optional.

As for this DLC, am wondering about any added dialogue amongst the party. And I already enjoy the solo MMO experience, so more is fine, though I may have to wait for now due to RL speed-bumps.

Everyone is different. What somebody takes as a hint to take his/her leave ... others take as a hint to keep on going, AlanC9 ;)

Humans are unpredictable and most of us can only speak for themselves - even though they also speak for a whole lot of others - but not for everyone. At the same time language of any kind, by itself, is not very precise in almost in every case it is used to express anything really but especially when it comes to personal opinions. So the understanding of language ... hinges often on the ability to read between the lines - and also the desire to do just that!

What someone gets out of a certain message, or ... writing on the wall ... is subjective because it hinges on the understanding of the reader. So what people - for example you and me - take away from the experience with the game is subjective. As are our reactions to it and our interpretations.

So please try to understand ...

... when I stop supporting these "THINGS" that kill all the fun for me ...

I will effectively stop paying someone money to torture me for having had any hope in the first place that they will not SCREW IT UP and I will stop paying someone money to torture me for being a fan! It does not change the fact that I love what they did in the past. But I will not wear rose colored glasses when it comes to acknowledging the fact ... that the good old BioWare ... has to create what EA wants, now ... and has to focus on EA's goals instead of their own goals - to create awesome RPG's ...

It is not something I give up for no reason - but because it DAMN HURTS!

And I will take 50 steps back and watch this ... "stuff" ... from a distance.

Hey, I was just playing along with your joke, since I think it's an interesting way to think about what makes someone a "fan." In fact, I came back to the thread to put in what would get rid of Sylvius and me.(I'd play for Elhanan too, but since he's here he can do that for himself.)

Sylvius is easy, I think. Go to full action gameplay and he's out of here, so they'd need to yank the Tac Cam. I'm a bit harder to get rid of. They can't really do it with gameplay since I play in all genres except sports, racing, RTS, and multiplayer-only. I think they could do it with combination therapy or a pure MMO. Bad art design kept me away from DA2 for a while. Lack of interest in the setting kept me away from Jade Empire until last week's GoG sale, but they can't easily play that card with Dragon Age or Mass Effect. Canonizing IT would go a long way towards driving me away from ME4; I can't offhand think of something equally bad for DA. If they laid lousy NPC interactions and/or plot on top of that -- think ToEE -- that would probably do it. I say "probably" because I still ended up playing ToEE.
