Worst game ever you mean? Before Inquisition. Inquisition looked agressively into Skyrim and copied it, they really did their job, managed to be even worse.
Same dumbing down in the series and other serious mistakes Skyrim featured.

To be honest, I am becoming Sith. I was barely bearing the game awfulness expecting some interesting DLC, it was a 100% subjective matter. They released content about the second people I hate the most in the game (first are Qunari, but at least with Qunari I have curiosity). They could have gone ANYWHERE, fex people, rivain, nevarra, more val royeaux, antiva, whatever... but Avvars? I already hated the game and they choose precisely the people that makes no difference for me in Thedas. TO be honest perhaps I ignore chasind the same or even more... it varies from time to time. So muhc interesting things and they give this boring on top of boring. It became personal.

Oh so you just hate snow...okay.  Well, I can't help you there.  I really only want to go to Antiva for the fish soup.  Zev made it sound so tasty.

The only reason I still play skyrim is for the mods. Even if some are a bit buggy :(

But not Oblivion.  It was a step up from that and it's hard to beat Morrowind...except by adding dragons...and Vikings...and well, there's dragons.

Vikings are overrated. I live in Norway, so the scenery in Skyrim is an everyday sight to me.

Morrowind actually had the vikings too. One of the expansion packs for it takes place in the north.

Plenty things they could have done, and maybe should have done too - I agree. I, for one, would actually like to see the Avvars more fleshed out. But they wouldn't be my first choice if I had a pick. I think we are getting the Avvars because they are close enough to the world map already in the game. I do hope they add areas though. Nevarra and Tevinter, for example.

I lived in USSR/Russia so I miss it and the expansion pack is probably why they rolled with Skyrim.

Because only Bethesda is allowed to have a fantasy game set in a cold, wintery place with pseudo-viking people. It's not like the Avvar have existed in the lore since Origins. Or that Blizzard did it back in 2008 with World of Warcraft.

I assume that's what you're getting at, anyway. It's hard to tell when the 'complaint' (and I call it that loosely) is vaguely "you're trying to hard to be Skyrim".

The only things that DAI has in common with Skyrim are the same things that are in nearly every RPG. The one thing I could conceivably see taken from Skyrim itself is the large, open envionments, since DA in the past was largely confined to corridors and semi-open pathways.

"Unprecedented". Have you played any Elder Scrolls game before Skyrim? When Skyrim was still new, I remember a lot of die-hard TES fans hating it because they felt it dumbed down things introduced in Morrowind and Oblivion. Bethesda didn't exactly buck any trends with Skyrim.

Skyrim, by itself and without mods, is painfully average. It's your standard-fare glitchy, broken, practically unplayable mess that's pretty much expected from Bethesda by now. It has an awful plot, and almost no actual characters other than General Tullius and Ulfric Stormcloak. It has an interesting approach to standard RPG leveling, and it gives players a large amount of choice in how to approach situations in the world. Credit to it for those, but it fails in plenty of regards. The only reason Skyrim is as popular as it is, is because it has a million mods available to fix the mess that Bethesda wasn't willing to run through QA. And I say this as someone who has played through all of the expansions for Skyrim and has at least a thousand hours of play time on both the Xbox 360 (aka, unmoddable) and PC versions.

I'm in agreement with Ventus on this, and I say that as someone who loves both series for a long time AND feels BioWare's attempts to imitate Skyrim's style are part of what hurts DAI. What exactly is this complaint based on - a couple of screenshots and the fact it seems to include an ancient peoples from the lore?? :-/

Nope I don't hate snow. In fact lore-story-wise I love Skyrim above all TES games. Stormcloaks are the best!
My problem is with this lore IN THEDAS. Thedas has so much better things. Also I didn't hate Avvars before Inquisition, I just ignored them because one can't stand that much boring lore, in Inquisition that I saw how ridiculous their culture was and how they look, and talk and I started hating them almost as much as Qunaris. I say remove Chasinds, Qunaris and Avvars from Thedas, Bioware releases a DLC about Avvars. NO THANKS. But I will buy because I need items and schematics and everything crafted related because I love crafting. Well, if there is nothing worthy to enhance my character I won't buy BUT it is DLC, of course it will have. And I will have to press space bar to ignore dialogue so many times I'm afraid I'm gonna break my keyboard. Probably gonna play on mute, disable subtitles and avoid reading items descritpions to keep ignoring Avvars, at least Qunaris will have a challenge to the most hated culture in Thedas after this DLC.

Elves supreme beings, Dwarves somehow interesting, rest, boring. I'd take a Drow lore over any other lore in DA, specially because as I said in another post Bioware just copies cultures from real life and other fantasy. Nothing really new there, except for the fall of the elves, which interests me, and the dwarven disconnection to magic. Rest is musulim, jew, barbarians, greeks, spanish, french, gypsy and so on. Also I don't even like TES and their lore on gods and dragons and EVERY SINGLE RACE but elves is more interesting than Thedas. Seriously, ASOIAF just hints at everything you see in Thedas, in DA it all was amazing for me but after reading Martin it is clearly just a copy, even the plot.

It's based on a pathological need to complain.

6 Stats, at least 6 races, at least 12 classes. A huge map of the city of Val Royeaux with even explorable Sewers. Also a party with Sera, Isabela and Leliana and a female Inquisitor. A party, and a party.

Let me summarize this DLC for you: "We were not Skyrim enough"
They tried to go even more Skyrim and made the game even more of a disaster.

If you want to be Skyrim so much instead of going this way just release a toolkit.

You clearly have no idea of what you are doing, let modders fix the game for you.
Also, quit making games, don't hurt Mass Effect further.

Too late to quit with dignity but you still can quit to prevent putting more abomination into de the world.

And how exactly is this proposed toolkit and the mods created from said proposed toolkit supposed to work on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One?  Oh that's right, it won't.  So perhaps we should leave it up to Bioware to actually create the DLC for DAI.  If you don't like what Bioware creates, you don't have to purchase it.

Nope. What he posted was a valid, reasonable, and well fleshed out bit of critical feedback.

...based on a few screenshots and an ancient race that seems to feature? Unless I've missed something, we have little other info.

You lost me at Isabela, never understood the love for her. She's like Blair from Soul Eater, she only existed to be a walking set of boobs.

So you've never liked any Dragon Age game, then?

Isabela, out of all the DA2 companions, has the most character development during the game. That is why she is popular. Plus her humor is pretty great.

Somehow. It is one part of this, yes. In fact I'm just using this forum and the complaining to deal with the anxiety of waiting for Pillars of Eternity, which I will be playing March 26th. I like complaining because like now, while I'm answering you it is taking time which makes March 26th closer. Thanks for helping me spend my time, you are most lovely.

(to Rawgrim) I'm going to have to disagree with you on that since I have trouble following Lilithor's feedback to the point where I see certain points as contradictory like "In fact lore-story-wise I love Skyrim above all TES games" to "Also I don't even like TES and their lore on gods and dragons and EVERY SINGLE RACE".

Then there is not presenting something to back up their claims of Bioware copying cultures fromr real life and other fantasy and how the "rest are muslim, jew, barbarians, greeks, spanish, french, gypsy and so forth". There are only mentions but no comparisons and no examples. Not even when Lilithor claims it is "clearly just a copy, even the plot" of something related to a Martin.

Bioware exec: "Oh gosh, this random internet nobody is right! We can't let this charade go on any longer. Guys, cancel the DLC! Hell, shut it all down! We're not making video games anymore."

Bioware worker: "But sir, there's like...a lot of other people who are really excited for this DLC. Maybe we could wait until--"

Bioware exec: "No! Don't you see?! Some random person on the internet, based on absolutely no information whatsoever, said that releasing this DLC makes our game just like Skyrim!"

Bioware worker: "But that doesn't make any sense. We're just adding new quests to expand on a bit of unexplored lore. If that makes us just like Skyrim, then every RPG ever would be Skyrim. And besides, people like Skyrim."

Bioware exec: "Doesn't matter. What's done is done. Now help me burn all of our profit money as penance for our sin of daring to create additional content for our products."
