OP, I even recognize your name because of the absurd amount of troll posts you'd submitted. I would leave the place and move on if I were you.

Someone refresh my memory. I don't remember fighting a previous Dragonborn in Skyrim.

You do in the Dragonborn DLC, the one set in Solstheim.

It is funny to talk to someone crazy as I am. It reminds me of my talks with schizophrenic people, except that I didn't try to talk some sense into them because I knew it was useless. With posts like yours I wonder why a person seeing posts like mine tries to reason with me, it is just VERY weird. If you bother to explain I would like to know, it really gets me curious. Rawgrim is smart, Elhanan too, they know what is worth it and what is not, Sylvus also seem to know his way around completely nutz people, but people like you gets me intrigued, you stated you know how sick I am and still you try to reason. An interesting person indeed, you could be an Inquisition NPC, would make the game less boring.

This one I have no idea about either. I understand the complaints for the main game about the lack of story content in it, and the incredible amount of fetch quests etc. That one is valid. But when Bioware actually adds story content to the game, its bad? I don't get that one.

Is there story content in the DLC? It's not just another zone?

Both. I focus on the bad side, is the one that matters, huge areas, not enough content, closing rifts, holding left mouse button. And as I said I will have to buy because I like crafting. I absolutely hate them. Lots of amazing new crafting stuff.

I'm imagining that the "confront an ancient god of war bent on destroying the world" part is story heavy.

It looks as though there's as much story content in this DLC as in any of the random zones. No cutscenes or choices or anything so far. Lots of walking and combat. Seems to be a new zone for people that are fans of the existing zones.

This DLC sounds like a waste of money then.

Yeah, I've seen enough to know that I wont be buying it. It actually makes me a little sad because some small part of me was still hoping that the DLCs would turn things around for me, I mean the DA2 Legacy DLC was a huge step up from the actual game IMO and it addressed all the complaints I had with the base game (aside from race choice of course lol). This will be the first piece of DLC for a BioWare game that I wont be buying. :( Major thanks to LPprince for the twitch stream!

It's not like it took much to be a step up from the main game. The DLC for DA2 could have caused my house to burst into flames and I would have still rated it higher than the main game.

Exactly, there are Bioware stans on all sides.

Off-topic: I have never heard the word "stan" used outside K-pop. The things you learn in BSN.

Agreed I also watched it live on Twitch and thought now I know why it was announced and released so quickly.  The same bland experience as we get from the main game.

Dragonborn DLC was the first to come to mind when I saw that summary... that "previous inquisitor off to find dragons in viking snow land" business... but that doesn't mean I won't enjoy it, and until we see the story, who's to say it's anything like it? I intend to purchase and play it.

At least eventually. Seems that Patch 6 has inadvertently broken mods again, so I'ma wait until that's dealt with.

I finished the DLC just now. The story in it is pretty cool, to be honest. Seeing the Avvarr and how they live etc was fun. The new area was more or less a tropical jungle with some mountains. Extremely tedious to travel through. LOADS of backtracking, climbing, and frustration. A bit weird that the avarrs actually dress in thick furr etc, when they live in a tropical jungle.

12 more shards to pick up. Very very jump quest`ish on more than a few of them.

Lots of search quests. Very tedious, actually. Felt like the Hinterlands.

LOADs of schematics and new ressources to find\buy.

3 new Astariums.

New Dragon to fight

Harkonites. Not those guys, ugh. You have to fight around 40 huge fellows during the DLC, and every damn one of them has more HP than the Arishok had. Extremely tedious.

Lovely scenery.

Some side quests actually had a decent story.

Some nice additions to the lore. Interesting stuff.

The area is kind of a mix between the Emerald Graves and the Forbidden Oasis, really.

About 8 hours of playtime. 1.5 hours if you only do the story bit. Give or take.

Giving this one a 4 out of 10. The good bits was the story and the lore. But the whole new area was probably the most tedious area in the whole game.

No clue where the Skyrim comparrison comes from, to be honest. The dlc takes place in a tropical jungle.

Thanks for the review Rawgrim.

I now know I'm not going to buy it. I'll wait for a hopefully better DA 4.

http://www.urbandict...e.php?term=Stan

Used commonly in K-pop-fandoms to define certain type of fan. For example, someone can be "JaeJoong-stan" and hates all his bandmembers while  worships said JaeJoong. Crazy, I know. I try to survive there, being level-headed and all. Well, I am most of the time, anyway.

Brand new zone. 1 main story in it. About 50 percent longer than the story section in the Crestwood area, I'd say. Lots of filler stuff in it, and the sheer amount of HP every enemy has, and the constant walking and backtracking, makes very time consuming. Especially if you are a completionist.

Not sure why we have to find 12 shards in the area. I don't think we can actually use them for anything?

You do get some cutscenes in it. Not many, but a few. The story content is very very railroaded, but some of the side quests can actually be solved in different ways.

Aren't they used for some side quest inside that area?

If not this means that with the DLC there will be more shards that we need to unlock all the doors in the Oasis, so we can leave behind the trickiest ones..

This is really a subjective question... in theory if we consider that the price for a whole game is $60-70 I would say that every DLC is not worth it.

It depends on how much you value $15... When video-poker machines were still legal in my country I could easily spend $15 in few minutes, so I could say that $15 for 5 hours of gameplay is worth it.

It depends on how much you liked DA:I. Considering that this DLC resembles totally the main game if you loved it is worth it, if you hated fetch quests, explorations, lack of cinematic then I'd say no, it is not worth it.

It's all relative....
