Can you have a mage throw down a fire mine or firestorm on the door? Sometimes that helps get to enemies that get trapped in walls.

No, unfortunately not. The issue is that the enemies spawn so far behind the closed door (i.e. beyond but near where the healing pot is located) that they are unreachable, and most attacks are blocked from being casted through the walls so there is a limited range with which you can affect anything within the closed door region.

It has happened two out of five times that I've played since updating to Patch 6 on PC. For clarity, this has only occurred for me when fighting spirits/demons (100% of the 2 matches against this faction, though 2 is not a large enough sample size to say whether it occurs with regularity or if I'm just unlucky!) It has not occured when fighting red templars or venatori yet. I suspect that the enemies behind the door are wraiths, but cannot be sure - they never approach the main area or the other side of the door in Wave 5 because none of the players are within line of sight.

Pot, meet kettle.

(Hello kettle)

So how regularly does this bug happen?

I haven't experience it yet * not implying that by not experiencing it that it is not an issue *

(heck, you'd think being positive and upbeat occasionally (ok, a lot) was an offense... )

Ah, clarity at last, thank you  :)

Were your instances on the Tevinter Ruins, as the font room is set much further back?

I will look into this today. This shouldn't technically be possible since there are no spawn locations inside the font rooms.

Can anyone provide information on which destination and end zone this was encountered in? The name of the zone should appear as you enter it.

Thanks

On one of the Tevinter Ruins maps there is the entrance room, then a long corridor, then a long set of stairs up to the main Zone 5 open area. Enemies would (pre-this-patch) frequently spawn in the entrance room (if no players were standing there).

I can't say for sure that's the problem, just speculating.

It may not be connected, but joining zone 5 as a late arrival, I just spawned *inside* the font room.

I was able to run through the door as if it wasn't there though.

I took a recording as I suspect this is not as intended (on Xbox One).

I have seen a similar issue previously (So prior this patch) with Daemons on Elven Ruins, on the map tile where you first go into a cellar from the font room, which has a staircase up to the wider area.

If your Group leaves this area, and goes up the stairs and into the "wild" you can get wraiths to spawn down there for some reason. I've seen them come up the stairs at least, without anything entering from up top.

This is indeed what happens, the spawns that were back there from before this patch do not seem to have been removed.

That was my first thought as well. It's the only instance I can think of enemies spawning behind us, near the start.

Huh. I played all 6 maps at one point or another yesterday on PC and never ran into that.  Ganked by archers, yes, but no spawns in the font room.

Just for some feedback, I don't appreciate being forced to play a certain way when we had a choice before. If you want people to play a certain way, give us more incentives or make a different game type. People are asking for more content, not for content to be removed to change play styles.

Just to finish up on game types, if you guys made a horde mode which has been asked for by quite a few members of this forums that would be the perfect place to use the changes you've just made. Just have one final area and throw an absolute tonne of enemies at players until they fail, giving them gold/items depending on how many waves they can survive.

Soz but do you actually play the MP game you make? (serious question)

They been spawning in the fount room since forever, especially if the players aren't in the room.

Still haven't seen it, (30 games) but I'll record it when I do...

I  was meaning when they used to spawn in the fount room, before this patch so I can understand why they would be spawning there when people are locked out.

Understood. Yes, you're right, Tevinter Ruins seems the most likely culprit.

um no they don't. I have never seen an enemy spawn inside the entrance room of zone 5. I've seen enemies get launched into the air, go flying into the room, get rubberbanded into the room, charge through a wall, twirl into a wall in other zones (despair demons), and DC can certainly pop up in entrance room if there's players in it. Aside from that, I've never witnessed any wraiths or other's actually spawn there.

Edit: Although the guy below reminded me of the tevinter ruins and the hallway leading up where spawns will occur. This isn't technically the healing font room though, and I've yet to play on this map on this patch, so I'm not sure if the entire hallway is closed off or just the actual healing font room. But if the entire entrance hallway is sealed off then yeah, it would make enemy spawning behind the door quite probable.

While people are correct that enemies DO spawn in the front entrance of the Tevinter Ruins behind the door on previous game versions (this has happened to me countless times while playing on PC prior to Patch 6, both on-host and off-host), the bug occured for me in the Elven Ruins and against the demon/spirit faction both times on two separate areas (can't remember the names, but as far as I'm aware there are only two Wave 5 areas in the Elven Ruins anyway.)

The party went down to the flag at the far right-hand or far left-hand corners of each area and the enemies spawned half-way through Wave 5 far behind the closed door - to the point that they were indicated on the radar as triangles and not circles, as in far enough away to not be reachable.

Hmm, can't remember the names either,

there's the cloister with the raised centre and the stepped area with the plaza at the bottom...
