So for another game, Playstation got 1 year of exclusive rights to certain dlc/bits of dlc over xbox. reading this forum gave me the news that xbox1/pc have first dibs at this new DLC thats out, who wants to take a stab at how long everyone else will have to wait?
I'm going for a month because I'm hopeful lol.
any ideas for exclusivity time on DLC for XBONE?

Your guess is as good as mine. Hopefull not long, I mean, with lots of other games coming out, people will have moved on from DAI, spending their money elsewhere. Not to say those people won't ever buy the game, just that Bio/EA will receive their money later rather than sooner with the delayed release on ps4/last gen.

It'd be dumb as heck for BE to be an exclusive. It was supposed to be included in patch 5, and again 6, and still nothing. They better not come around with that bullcrap. -.- I don't have any plans to get it, though, but I'm just asking for other people...

Seriously, why in the **** would they accept a deal that ONLY screws over PlayStation players, I don't have a good PC and I hate XBOX. Stop making stupid deals that **** with your fan base just so you can make an extra buck!

Thankfully, it seems like it'll be the most content lite sp story dlc. ..I hope anyway. I'm kinda just chillin' on DA til we've got more dlc now. It'll hopefully account for most of the xp we need outside the main path and companion stuff. So, not just post campaign stuff.

As I told in one thread the problem is the lack of clarity from BW. Microsoft offered that deal and they accepted for the money. That I can accept but then tell us how long this exclusive is going to last and when other console users will be able to get this DLC. People here want clarity. I hope it's not going to last more than a month.

As an Xbox One owner, I'm hoping it's no more than a month at the very longest for you guys.
I don't like the concept of timed exclusivity on any platform. Hopefully one day a regulatory body (like the FCC) will come in and kill it.

Well, EA signed the deal with Microsoft anyway to get timed exclusive DLC in the end. It's business to try and coax people who are unwilling to wait to the DLC quicker.
I guess it's working in some cases, although the PC release at the same time is a nice loophole for them too I guess.
I'm patient, I can wait.

I think exclusivity deals are super weird. Even more so for DLC/ expansions/etc for games that are on multiple platforms. Actually, I really dislike this type of marketing (regardless of which company does it). I hope they minimize the time between platforms so everybody can enjoy the same game in the same way.

Exclusivity is a gamers enemy in my opinion. This kind of marketing doesn't help the customer. Microsoft clearly thinks that PS owners will buy an XBox just to play this DLC. That seems to be the logic. I won't. I lost complete interest in an XBox based on it's features and restrictions. If we don't get this DLC for the PS that will be disappointing, but not game ending for me. I personally wanted to see DLC based on something else but people wanted to see Avaars, so I'm not surprised this was chosen first.

It's not that. It's the idea that the average consumer will 'see' that Xbone/PC users get their stuff faster and if it comes down to a choice, that choice will be a Microsoft product.
I have a PS4, so yeah I get the rankles. I was a diehard xbox enthusiast last generation but they screwed up so much stuff during the last console war that I ended up getting a PS4 instead, despite the fact that it lacks features I want.

I don't really mind the wait, I know that I'll get the DLC eventually (hopefully it won't be too long though!) I bought a Playstation 4 because I couldn't afford a top notch computer and I grew up around people who had Playstations so they were familiar and comfortable to me. But comments like this (though I know you probably didn't intend this way) kinda make me feel like I'm being punished for not having the "correct" gaming station. Dragon Age is a cool game and think we should focus on that instead of what we are playing it on. I dunno just saying.

If that is the case Microsoft is really thinking we consumers are dumb as ****. Actually this timed exclusive thing instead of making me chosing an Xbox is only making me hating Microsoft more and more. Using these techniques to push their console poor launch is low. Not leaving a great impression on me as a company, Not sure what the guys at PR/Marketing were thinking.

Why do a deal to have one year Playstation Exclusive content for Destiny?
Why do a deal to have Xbox 360 getting Skyrim content before PS3 or PC?
Because it's just the way things are. These deals provide developers with serious capital to keep on making games. That's the bottom line.
But it's also not really news. We knew this was coming the second we saw the 'DAI Premium Content first on Xbox One' banner at last year's E3.
