What is interesting is that the game has sold more copies on the PS4 considering how well the PS4 has sold, so EA is probably scratching their heads now. But they got a good deal from Microsoft and went for it. Its like when Microsoft payed 50 millions dollars for GTA IV content and the game sold more on PS3. Its just stupid and it wasnt even forever, it had like a 6 months timed. I am betting this timed won't last longer than a month at most. I am surprised PC is getting it at the same time. Atleat they didn't do a Fallout 3 on this game.

Figures can be unreliable. If you belueve the internet the entire gaming split on next gen is like 85% PS4 to 15% Xbox One.

In reality, given how strong the Xbox sales were over the end of last year, I would be truly amazed if that wasn't closer to 60/40 split now.

But to put it another way look at Destiny. The Studio's fanbase was ALL Xbox. Despite Sony buying out all publicity for the game, ensuring that nobody even mentioned it as being multiplatform officially, the players who logged on regularly and achieved the higher accolades were Xbox players.

Yet when it came to content? There's still PS4 exclusive content which Xbox players won't be seeing until towards the end of this year. A pretty illogical move on paper, but ultimately these kind of deals have nothing to do with logic. It's all down to publisher power and money.

In this day and age one company has more money than the other. And sadly, it doesn't really matter how may PS4s Sony shift. The millstone of pretty much every other area of te company losing money is the millstone around their neck.

Which is a shame. Because the PS4 is a pretty good console. If I could afford both right now I probably would buy one. I certainly know that most of my own friends who stared of as PS4 player now own both. And it's exactly for reasons like this one.

I remember TESV:Skyrim, which had time exclusive for first DLC for Xbox 360 (if i remember it correctly). That was something of extremly nice thing. I got really jealous there. I even regret the decision to not buy xbox version back there.

I wouldn't assume we'll get a release date any time soon, if they couldn't talk about it yesterday, I don't think they'll talk about it for at least a few weeks, so expect silence on the DLC for other consoles.

I hope it's just a month wait.

Seriously, why in the **** would they accept a deal that ONLY screws over PlayStation players, I don't have a good PC and I hate XBOX. Stop making stupid deals that **** with your fan base just so you can make an extra buck!

very well said

Why do a deal to have one year Playstation Exclusive content for Destiny?

Why do a deal to have Xbox 360 getting Skyrim content before PS3 or PC?

Because it's just the way things are. These deals provide developers with serious capital to keep on making games. That's the bottom line.

But it's also not really news. We knew this was coming the second we saw the 'DAI Premium Content first on Xbox One' banner at last year's E3.

why bring up destiny on a BioWare forum? If you don't like it go to the destiny forum.
Destiny is irrelevant here

It's not that. It's the idea that the average consumer will 'see' that Xbone/PC users get their stuff faster and if it comes down to a choice, that choice will be a Microsoft product.

It has the opposite effect for me. My kneejerk reaction is to want to avoid all the companies involved.

Of course, I won't actually do that. I already have my Playstation and I'm invested enough in DA that I'll want to play the content regardless. I'm not nearly as excited about it as I was, though, and it makes me wary of getting invested in future products where I might get a similar runaround.

If there was at least a release date for PS, I would feel like Bioware somewhat cared about my business. I get that they have a deal in place and have to adhere to it, but it would be nice to have it acknowledged that we're their customers too.

This deal was very profitable for bioware. Microsoft have payed for every promo since E3 and up to release. Considering the effort put in promotion into this DLC, that's almost as nothing for bioware.

Is this going to be the case for every DLC? Or is it only this one.

This DLC had no hype to it and if the rumors of just one DLC for timed exclusive are true well I think it shows what Bioware thinks of the deal.
