Venom works really well for them in groups. Really any shotgun with drill rounds will own their ass though. You can also take the Acolyte if you just want a secondary that solves your phantom problem.

Claymore! ![]()
(alternatively Venom works decently as well)

Venom, GPS, Graal, Kishock (as a shotgun) are all very effective against Phantoms. Of course, you get the most style points with the Claymore. Bonus points if you Lash them and get a headshot. Skeet shooting! Ahh skeet skeet skeet!
Liked for Graal...
Graal -> Krogan heavy melee
Graal -> Ballistic Blades -> Falcon Punch
Biotic Charge -> Graal
... or just a plain, simple charged Graal to the face; any of these will deal with a Phantom problem.

Many effective anti-Phantom methods have been mentioned, but there's an interesting one that hasn't.
Krysae. An Infiltrator with a Krysae and Incendiary III or IV can take out a bubbled Phantom with one Krysae clip. The beauty is how each shot staggers her so she can't flip and dodge the next one. The proximity detonation also means that when she ducks round the edge of a doorway you can still ruin her day effectively. The finish, when she literally explodes into gobbets, is simply perfect.

Never thought I'd see Krysae and effective in the same post.

You are probably the only person in the entire Mass Effect universe that hates Phantoms.
I hate swarmers. Should I make a thread?

This is excellent advice. I am surprised that more players do not use the Krysae Sniper Rifle. It has a significant damage-bonus against armor, and it has area-of-effect damage, so if you load it with L4 Disruptor Rounds or L3 Phasic Rounds, and if you use it with the Marksman ability, then Platinum-level enemies who have armor and/or shields and/or biotic-barriers can be defeated quickly.

The answer is the same to any other question of the kind "what is the best shotgun to xxxxx", and it's
CLAYMORE.
I'm confused because there seem to be a bunch of posts after this one for some reason.

I know. I ran the crazy ass challenge with it on the Human Soldier to solo gold with it. It's primary problem is the refire time is just god awful. They could have balanced that weapon better to give it a better niche. It still does well with infantry especially if you have a detonating power for ammo applications but trying to kill an Atlas or Praetorian with the Krysae? Yeah painful.

Gosh guys, have you heard the expression "moving the goalposts"? Because I'm posting in a thread about dealing with Phantoms, and now you're bitching about bosses.
That said, the Krysae is only truly awful for those who played it before it was nerfed. I use it, enjoy it, and score decently well (by my pathetic standards) with it. And I use it on the FQI, so the boss stuff gets the cloaked Incendiary sticky treatment.

They are quite silly IMO. They have a hand blast that seems slightly weaker than the nemesis's much bigger and slower rifle, they have strong barriers and seem to be able to negate 90% of damage dealt to them by doing a flip, they are immune to grabbing from cover, they are fast as hell, they can't be frozen by cryoblast, they have the fastest instakill, can turn invisible and look like stupid cyborg ninjas running around with swords instead of omniblades.
Why does Cerberus even bother with anything else when their phantoms are so damn good?
Anyways what is the best shot gun to kill them with?
They are the best pole dancers in the ME Universe, throw them a few credit dollar bills and see if they stop pestering you ![]()

Especially with a GI/SI... Krysae > PM > Krysae > gibbage.

There are so many weapons and powers that are effective against Phantoms, it's your own damn fault if you end up in a Cerberus game with no way to kill Phantoms quickly.
