Whether something is "worth" $15 bucks is highly variable between people.

$15 = about 5 gallons of gas... or a quarter of a tank..

$15 = a meal for 3 people at McDonalds.

$15 = a ticket for 1 person to see a 90 minute movie.

I will easily get this DLC.   I love exploring and more content is always better.    Considering the VAST amount of money I have to send to the government next month and get NOTHING for it in return... $15 bucks is a miniscule amount.    I have bought games on Steam and gifted them to complete strangers that cost more.

what over priced shithole do you live in? Cost $8.00 where I am.

Mileage inevitably varies:

In the UK, what you both are getting for $15 (or £$8) costs me:

  • $30 - 4 gallons fuel
  • $20 - 3 Big Mac meals
  • $12* - Movie ticket *add popcorn and a drink and you can more than double that !

Which is why a judgement can only be, is this worth buying to you?

I picked up the DLC earlier for UK equivalent of $16.

Worth it for me? Absolutely.

New area with sidequests is all fine and dandy... But I worry the enemies will once again fall short when compared to my Knight-Enchanter. Are they tougher, smarter, are there more of 'em? Buying a sidequest DLC and once again cutting down all who come before me as easily as carving a cake - thus once more proving that I should be the True High King of Skyrim Thedas - doesn't seem like the wisest investment. I mean, do these barbaric heathens really need me to prove anything after what I did to Sethius Amladaris and his pseudo-Archdemon? Unlikely.

I'm currently running through it with my Knight-Enchanter and finding it challenging. Not undoable, but satisfyingly challenging. The fade rifts are probably the biggest kick in the ass as they like to throw out groups of lvl 26 enemies consisting of 3 despair demons, a pride demon and a fear demon just for good measure + all the elementally charged wraiths that normally come with.

Ok I was partially right ;) .... I'll be getting it regardless of paying 15.00, I just gotta wait a bit since I'm playing it on the PS4.

What I'm wondering, considering it costs 25% of the main game, does it also add 25% of the gameplay too? How many hours to do this all, anyone know?

People are saying this DLC is actually insanely hard, even for knight enchanters.

That so? Huh, good to hear. If nothing else, at least it forces KE's to once again actually fight.

Probably as long as it takes me to level up to cope with it then  :D

If you're being a completionist, about 5 to 6 hours. It's up to you whether or not you think that's worth the money

wow this DLC sounds like ****

They didn't listen to any sort of criticism (fetch quests, more STORY) and gave us this

https://www.reddit.c...d_not_worth_it/

good luck to anyone who will buy it

compared to the Citadel DLC and Mark of Assasin (both 15$) this seems like a waste

14,99,- € for a map pack?

It´s cool, I guess.

But pass.

My sentiments too, although with another addendum.

I STILL want this to be available for Steam. Were it that EA decided to release this game on Steam I'd likely buy any and all DLC as a show of support for coming home. I still hate Origin for numerable reasons (slow downloads, all friends on Steam, and poor POS system/digital river).

I would be happy to purchase a great deal more if it were on Steam and the entire Origin infrastructure was stripped out of the game altogether. That we're arguing about whether $15 DLC is semantics, kind of like how PS4 owners feel right now.

I can proudly say that I have never followed a reddit discussion nor do I feel the need to be in any way influenced by anything happening on reddit.

Ouch. AU$25 for 5-6 hours when I paid AU$80 for the main game which can run anywhere up to 150-200 hours for a completionist playthrough. That's.... not value for money by anyone's books, even the most fervent of fanboy.

While I respect your opinion OP I don't think you speak for everyone.

First off I hate Toyota cars and find them over priced and not worth it. but I don't go around telling people not to buy a Toyota. Many people in fact own a Toyota and love them. And that's my point. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean others can't like it either.

Let us spent the money on the DLC. Let us decide for ourselves if we like or dislike the DLC and find it a waste of money. Maybe your desires and interests, things YOU want to experience in the game are NOT what others want.

I plan to fully enjoy this DLC. And $15? not a big deal. That's the price of a growler of ale at my friend's brewery and I can drink that in a day. At least this will last longer. :P

Vanilla RPGs are severely underpriced anyway, though.

I would still say it's up to the individual in terms of value.

For example, I could go to the theatre and see a 2 hour movie for $30CAN or I could spend $15CAN on a DLC that will last me 5-6 hours, and that's not including the ability to replay it again. If I want to see the movie again, I have pay the $30 again or wait until it's on DVD/Blu ray and shell out $40CAN to buy it.

Not trying to start a fight, just saying that to me it was worth it considering alternate things I could do with my money.

Hey, in case anyone read this post of mine almost five hours ago, well, it was apparently full of p*ss and vinegar.  Apologies if my post suckered any into buying it that may not have otherwise done so (but yeah, I'm not reimbursing you either.)  Buyer beware, per edit #2.

For those of you concerned about waiting for feedback before buying, at least if you are on PC, why care what anyone else's opinion is?  You have a guaranteed money-back return policy for 24 hours, so just buy it, test drive it, and decide whether you want to keep it.

This was right below my payment confirmation after I bought it so I assume the DLC is covered by the return policy.

EDIT:

(So take what I just said with a grain of salt...)

EDIT #2:  CONFIRMED, THIS DLC NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RETURN!  I AM SORRY FOR THE MISINFORMATION I GAVE.  I only did so because they actually put that blurb I have below right on my payment receipt page, so I foolishly figured it was  relevant.  Buyer beware, yo.

Well, let's put it this way - if the price had been $20, I'd have grumbled but paid it because on the current exchange rate, that's fair enough. If it had been US$15, then AU$20 is more or less what I would have paid anyway. But setting the price at $25 (which is US$20), while only a $5 difference, is rude and disrespectful of EA/Bioware because there's no reason for it to be that price. It's saying, "Hah! We can gouge whatever we like out of you and you have to pay it because you can't get this DLC anywhere else! And guess what? We'll never put the DLC on sale! So there!" There's no physical copy being sent to me. There's no extra cost to EA/Bioware to provide the file to me in Australia to justify the price being $25. It's a digital file that I will download from a server, just like everyone else, but unlike everyone else, I have to pay more for no good or justifiable reason.

Seems it won't be long before you truly understand why BioWare say little on the forums  :D

The risk of saying anything you believe to be true is that sometimes it turns out not to be, even if you were just trying to help  :)

I don't know why they would charge 15 dollars which requires me to think about it instead of 10 dollars which I am more used to paying. I sure they have people who figure out the right price but for me it's way too much for a DLC.

I was disappointed big time. Actual tears formed. Bioware knew the A#1 question in everyone's mind was about Solas. I geared up my little rouge elf and went hunting for her man. not one sign of him anywhere that i found. I am wondering if all their secrecy was to mislead us into thinking he might be there. If you take the Arbor Wilds and the Fallow Mire and smash them together you get this land. turned out to be just another dragon hunt for 15 bucks.

don't get me wrong, its not the cost, its all the secrecy. Yes it's worth buying as all DA DLC is to me. I was just mad at the cliff hanger, stilllll hanging. if we have to wait another four years, OMG.
I played through a second time with Solas in the party with his lady love, just before The final piece"
he was annoyinginly quiet and didnt spill any beans he knew about.

My point wasn't specifically targeting your australian price, just the price in general. It's unfortunate that you have to pay more money than Canada/US but I think that's a separate issue.

I paid $15CAN for the DLC. For me the price was fine given the content.

Ironically, a new game area DLC would have gone down a real treat for DA2 fans ;)

As a new PS4 owner, I guess I ought to thank Microsoft and EA for ensuring that I had time to see customers reviews before giving me the opportunity to spend my money on it. Personally, I am bored to tears with DAI's endless combat and fetch quest fixation. More of the same just doesn't interest me at all. The best parts of DAI were the main story missions and the character interactions. If they ever release a DLC featuring that type of story and characters focus, let me know. :)

I hope that Solas won't be DLC although I did favour the idea initially.  It seems too big a story for me to be squeezed into a few hours.  My hope is that it will be reserved for the next game.  I'm probably way off mark but that's what I'd like to see anyway.
