I don't feel like it is over priced at all, especially when I put Dragon Age: Origins DLC in to the equation.
It offers easily more than double the content of each of those DLC items; which their price range was around $7, barring Awakening of course. Unless you completely blitz it, Jaws of Hakkon offers a few hours worth of content.
New War Table Quests, an entire new area, a nice amount of loot; and an incredible amount of lore about a group of people you know next to nothing about? I'd say it's $15 well spent myself.
As for fetch quests, I don't think I noticed any to be honest. And, I've finished most of the DLC as it is. I haven't had to go out and find a large amount of materials for anything other than the Hakkon Trials, which I already had that on hand. Actually, any player in the level 20 range should have that much Silverite and Everite on them.
Jaws of Hakkon is overpriced and not worth buying

I call it "Jaws of Hakkon is overpriced and not worth buying"
P.S.: That's a lake.
P.P.S.: Seriously though, it's still just one additional area. So I'm not saying previous arguments aren't still correct.
P.P.P.S.: But it's very pretty.
Yes.. I am amazed how pretty this dlc is.

Having spent a few hours in this DLC so far, I have to say my opinion is changing, for the better. Yes, there's a lot more of the same. There's shards, there's Astrariums, there's Rifts. This has not changed at all. Enemies feel to me to be Venatori reskins.
That being said.....
These puzzles......this does not feel like more of the same to me. These puzzles are intriguing me so far, and I'm enjoying myself. The zone is exceedingly pretty to be in, and I'm enjoying myself. The lore and story put into this zone, while so far not really tying into the main story in a meaningful way, it fleshes out this world that I've come to love. I'm learning about Thedas' history, and I'm enjoying myself.
I absolutely see why people do not like this DLC, and at first I agreed with them. $15 for "More of the same"?? That's too much. But the more I play, the more I feel perhaps $15 isn't TOO much for this one.
Well done Bioware, well done on this one indeed!
EDIT: Just happened, but hearing Sera say "The front isn't working! Find a different hole! Hehehehehe!" made this worth $15 lol. GAWD I love Sera!

Alright let me weigh in since I've just completed the whole thing. With the dlc you get (off the top of my head):
- An area somewhere between the size of Crestwood and The Exalted Plains
- 10 or so side quests
- A bunch of schematics for each weapon type and armor type including alot of head schematics
- 1 judgement
- A few agents (dependant on choices)
- A few war table missions (some dependant on agents recruited)
- 2 big boss fights
- High level armor/ weapons for each class
- Decoration for Skyhold
- New banter between companions
- More interactions with Scout Harding
- 4 achievements
- 1 new spell/ability
What did I play as?
I played as a Qunari Rift Mage and started the dlc at lvl 25, I ended it at 27.
How long does it take to complete
It took me about 9 hrs to complete everything (Not including War Table Missions) and that's whilst skipping over codex entries but taking the time to listen to all of the conversations/read subtitles.
Is it challenging?
Enemies in this region scale with your characters so they will always remain about the same level as you or slightly higher. I played on Hard difficulty and found that enemies had a large amount of health and hit reasonably hard. However I only died once in the playthrough so take from that what you will.
Are there any bugs?
Not that I encountered, one of the quests may look bugged to you but you will find it concludes at the end of the dlc,
Is it overpriced?
I don't think so, I've paid the same amount for full games that had less content both in quantity and quality.

DAI has more cutscenes in it than you think. The issue is that it's so spread apart you tend to not notice. I feel like this game has more cut scenes than any bioware game to date.I guess I'll have to reserve judgment and check some more vids and wait for reviews. I've never skipped on any available DA or ME DLC before, and I've greatly enjoyed them all. I'm not surprised by the lower count of cutscenes, since this game has been much skimpier on that sort of thing than the previous titles, but disappointing to see that the pattern continues.

A fair point. It's kind of hard to really count it all since it really is spread apart a lot. I guess what makes the big difference here is that you can engage in a lot more dialogue, but the dialogue does not always take place in a cinematic back-and-forth camera view.

And both the shards and astrarium are harder.
So if you like picking those up to get buffs/stuff, the challenge level is higher.

Sigh....I think it's time to just put DA:I aside and move on. Absolutely no one asked for another lifeless zone. I can't play the ones that came with the game.
And all this talk about price...if the content is worth it, people will buy it. Who wants to actually spend money on another lifeless zone full of bland quests, codex entries and no cutscenes?
I was hoping the DLC would improve this game. That's not going to be the case, apparently. Ah, well.
I'm not quite there but definitely on the road to there. If the next DLC isn't a significant improvement i could be at that point.

OK, so are these shards like the ones we use the tranquiliscopes to find everywhere else or what?

There may be other shards, I'm only a little way in,
but yes, the first bunch appear to be vanilla shards that I can use to open doors.
One criticism of the shard mechanic is that by the time you have enhanced your resistances,
you've already killed everything in the game worth resisting.
Looks like you just got a dozen more to clear another Forbidden Oasis door more quickly.

Just finished the DLC...

To sum it up, it was another big ol' location to explore with a few cut-scenes sprinkled here and there. Not exactly what DAI needed more of.
The DLC main quest
First cut scene!
-go talk to a guy with a boat
-go talk to a avaar leader about said boat
-go back to guy with boat
-go to an Island and gain a new ability
-return and go to a temple
Second cut scene yay!
-light some things
-activate more things sparsely placed all over the map
-run away from fortress
Third cut scene yay!
-get help to break into fortress (this part is where things start to get good)
-make your way through a cold underground temple (interesting mechanic here)
-Boss fight
Fourth cut scene yay!
-go fight a dragon
Last cut scene!....Awwww....
THE END
No significance to the game's main story, it was pretty much a $15 history lesson. On the plus side you get to find out about the Inquisitor before you and you get to briefly (shame) say how the position has affected you. If you are a fan of scout Harding you also get to know her a bit more which was nice. The armors were cool too but overall, I'm just very disappointed with this DLC.

I'm only a few hours in and mostly have been exploring and fighting monsters and baddies so I cannot speak too much of the story (barely touched it). But if you enjoy the combat system and are looking for a new challenge this will do it. Began under-leveled on nightmare and immediately had to turn down difficulty. Got to chat up Harding at the beginning (that alone was worth 5$ to me) and she had a fun little bit with IB (mayhem.) New crafting resources, tier 4 schematics, rifts drop ridiculous amounts of goodies, lots of fade touched materials. The bad part of this DLC (if there is one) is that it's gonna make combat in the rest of the world even easier...man we need a nightmare+ addition to the game or a rescaling of the ending boss battle at least.

Hmmm.
So if you want uber materials there is now an in-game route via DLC to get more of them ![]()
(instead of exploiting the game as previously)

That's one way to look at it. The alternative is that the devs are adding new items to help keep the game fresh. I'm definitely not telling anyone to purchase. It's entirely up to the individual and what they like in gaming if these things will add to the overall experience.

DAO beats it since every encounter is a cutscene and you can engage in cutscenets anytime, anywhere, ie, conversations with companions. (edit:IMO)

I think he means cinematic dialogue, with up close camera, face animations and such. Also:
2009 - complex interactive experience.
2015 - no need for cinematics. Just mash buttons. Fun.

Actually people who enjoyed the old model no longer need to adapt or just accept what is offered. There are far more options for RPGs now then there were a few years ago. Last year had several titles that offered what Bioware used to make, this year will have even more. Companies who try to tell their fans what they should like tend to do poorly.
See last Sim city compared to Cities Skylines for an example of this when it happend in a different genre.

I don't care mouch about the 15€, but I'm seriously wondering how Bioware came to the conclusion DA fans might want yet another area filled with rifts, camps and fetch quests? After completing DA3 I feel like I've had enough of that for a lifetime.
Tell us a story Bioware, enrich it with cutscenes and character interactions and combine it with CHALLENGING battles.
Haveing said this however, I'll probably buy it anyway, as usual.
Stories and cut scene costs money.. you know.. writing a script, hiring voice actors, developing the proper cinematics/animations.
In any case, DAI is a success to EA and a piece of s**t to others. From EA's viewpoint stick with the formula.
