Right.  $15 for like 5 hours of my time?  Sure.  Movies cost about the same and take less time.

Lol...New quest, new side quests, new dragon, new boss fights, new crafting materials, new loot, new banter.  Overall fun. Final verdict: Not worth it.   Wait.  What?

Exactly. $15 = 45 minutes of work for me. Totally worth it.

For those of you concerned about waiting for feedback before buying, at least if you are on PC, why care what anyone else's opinion is?  You have a guaranteed money-back return policy for 24 hours, so just buy it, test drive it, and decide whether you want to keep it.

This was right below my payment confirmation after I bought it so I assume the DLC is covered by the return policy.

EDIT:

I'm preeettty sure the great game guarantee is only for full games, not DLC.

(So take what I just said with a grain of salt...)

EDIT #2:  CONFIRMED, THIS DLC NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RETURN!  I AM SORRY FOR THE MISINFORMATION I GAVE.  I only did so because they actually put that blurb I have below right on my payment receipt page, so I foolishly figured it was  relevant.  Buyer beware, yo.

Without spoilers, the entry area looks gorgeous and the first side-quests after leaving camp are slightly more interesting than those in other zones.

I didn't get that much further before my party got brutally stomped - I think I need to level up...

I'll share what I think it's worth after I've finished it.

I imagine much of the comment here about what it is worth are not based on having played it.

Trailer is also gorgeous...

Again I'm not making a comparison mate.  I am addressing the point that was made throughout the thread that $15 is not a lot of money.

What I'm not saying is:  "Go buy games during Steam sales because they're better than this $15 DLC."

What I am saying is:  "$15 isn't worthless because it can get you a lot of things, and here are a few examples of multiple games you could get for $15."

There is a difference between the two.  What I responded to earlier was the false notion that $15 is worthless, not the DLC itself.  When I did address the DLC, it was nothing about the price at all.

I think there's a difference here in that Steam has nearly a monopoly when it comes to PC Gaming. Origin is trying its damndest to get into it but it just doesn't quite compare.

I'm not 100% sure how the post ties to mine that you are quoting.

Yes, Steam has a larger user base but how does that relate to what I said?  Could you elaborate?

They can afford to make ridiculously awesome bargains like that with no problems, so while 15 bucks can go a long way for PC gamers, the same isn't necessarily always true for console gamers.

Yeah of course.  But I specifically mentioned PC gamers in my original post.

My whole point is that people who are saying $15 is "nothing" aren't taking into account the alternative things one could buy for $15.  Saying $15 is easy to earn or $15 isn't a lot of money ignores the concept of "opportunity cost" (i.e. what other thing could I buy with this money).

Again, I'm not saying the DLC sucks or that the DLC isn't worth $15; I'm saying that $15 is by no means useless.  That is my entire point, which for some reason is being misinterpretted as saying "don't buy this DLC for $15" by others in this topic.

For me personally it's not that price that's the issue here. It could be free and I would still want nothing to do with it. At times Bioware have used DLC to make their games stronger and add content that balance out the weaker parts of the game. DLC in Mass effect 2 turned it from a good game to a great one for me. Dragon Age 2 went from a slightly weaker title to a very much okey one with both it's story DLC.

This thing though seems to do nothing except add to the weakest part of the Inquisition. The game already have a huge beautiful world in it, they didn't need to add another zone to the pile. Especially not one filled with the same fetch quests as the original game. It coult be 1 dollars or 20 and it would still be a disappointment as far as I'm conserned.

This DLC is simply not worth going back and replaying the game for so I will just have to wait until they release something that is.

I don't think people would say $15 is too much if they actually wanted what the DLC is offering. I didn't see anyone complaining that Citadel was $15. But when a DLC seems to be a side story you might not care at all about and on top of it might mirror another dull MMO zone, $15 starts to look overpriced.

I happily paid $15 for content like Citadel, BioShock Burial at Sea, and Last of Us Left Behind. I used to mindlessly buy DLC for all my BioWare games too which was of mixed quality. Now I will only pick it up if it's content I actually want as opposed to random content, or if it goes on sale.

Yeah, but hey just for the record in case it isn't actually returnable, I'm not reimbursing anyone!

Pretty much share your sentiments.  I'm going to wait a while before I decide whether to buy it or not, probably to read more reviews and watch some videos.  But everything I've read so far points to the idea that the DLC builds upon the whole "size over substance" idea.  What I had been hoping for was more quests to populate the dozen filler-ish areas we already have rather than give us yet another new filler area to run through.

Pardon me if I don't rely on the opinion of a player who probably decided to hate the DLC before playing it; I'm buying it as soon as I can. I'll happily take another map. Sounds like a good area to explore.

Okay now, Bioware threw everything including the kitchen sink into Citadel, including bringing back the entire cast and expanding the hub with minigames and giving Shep a chance for ridiculously long and fun party. Anyone who says that was overpriced is really not cognizant of BW's history regarding DLC quality. Not saying you were, just making a general statement. But on your other point I see what you're saying.

After I got suckered into paying twenty for Omega I definitely stopped the reckless purchases also.

Perhaps you'd need to take a look at my original post.  Note the bolded, underlined section:

I'll wait for more feedback before I form an opinion, but based on this alone I'm disappointed.  What we needed was more content to populate the 10 empty regions we already have in the game, not add yet another empty area.  Size and diverse locales was never Inquisition's weak point; it was the lack of meaningful content within said locales.  This DLC seems to just build on the chronic problem of the game, which is size over substance.

I also think it's funny that people are trying to diminish what $15 is.  Value varies from person to person; to you it might not be much, but to others it can get you a hell of a lot.  For example, I just bought Deus Ex Human Revolution for $4 a few days ago.  New Vegas has went for $2.50 on summer sales and $5 for the "GOTY DLC edition".  Same with Fallout 3 and Oblivion.  So yeah, to PC gamers at least, $15 can get you three to four great games on Steam and there are more than enough sales during the year to take advantage of that sort of thing.

As you see, I never bad mouthed the DLC's price; I never said it wasn't worth $15.  All I did was point out that $15 is not worthless and gave examples of things that you can buy for $15.

Hrm... I'm gonna throw your quote in my post about it just so folks don't buy it on my word!  If you're right, they really shouldn't show that on the receipt/payment confirmation page in Origin.

But shouldn't this be what a $15 DLC is? Despite the effort and quality, I don't think it took them 25% of the time, cost, or effort for them to make as the $60 base game. Most DLC seems to offer 2% effort for 25% price tags IMO.

Hmm interesting.

Bioware points (which I used to purchase for $) are gone.

Now as I live in Israel I'm charged in € instead.

So DLC priced 14.99€, which is we do the math from New Israeli Shekel:

14.99$ = 58.71 NIS

14.99€ = 64.12 NIS

At any rate I purchased the digital deluxe edition for 60€ iirc so for me this dlc priced like 25% of the game. The 5 hours so called added in this DLC does not seem to be worth the price nor the price seem to be justified storywise.

I'll wait for more reviews before I'll decide to purchase if I'll purchase at all.
