Ok, (kinda silly) question from a non-american:

I see a LOT of people who found this new DLC price tag to be too much. But since I don't buy my stuff with dollars, I wanna ask: What else can you buy with 15? Is it a... good amount of money?  :3

What's you're currency? I know it's £11.99 in the UK. That doesn't seem unreasonable from what I'm hearing in terms of content.

15 bucks is 1/4 of a game price in the US isn't it? And if its like 2 hours long and the original game is about 100 hours, it is overpriced. But then again the same price tag can be put on a game that has a 5 hour story, it is just the price of the buisness. Dlc is overpriced no matter what, in my opinion.

My currency is Brazilian Real, U$15 is about  BRL$47,25  (covers half my water bill for the month, or I can buy a good T-Shirt with it... or even lunch for two at the restaurant :3)

$15 U.S is about 10 British pounds. It's about $19 Canadian, it's about 900 Russian Rubles, about 1800 Yen, and about 220 Mexican pesos.

As for what it can buy. As was said, it's 1/4 of a new game. it can buy about 2 packs of cigarettes, lunch for two at an inexpensive eatery (with a tip), about 5 gallons of gas.

Clearly, lunch is the common thread that binds all cultures together.

It's about the price of a fancy lunch or a cheap dinner over here. The kind of cash you'd miss if you lose, but would be perfectly okay with spending on an incredibly frivolous thing you want.

Fifteen dollars would be enough to purchase a whole game from a steam sale (as long as it's not super new), rather than this DLC, which is basically a fraction of a game.

Comparing it to a full game doesn't necessarily mean DLC in general is overpriced. It's very possible (and likely in the case of RPGs) that full games are underpriced.

Having said that, it does sound like this DLC doesn't give what you'd expect relative to the price/content ratio of other BW DLCs.

I think of it as how much I've played the game overall so if I've player 200 hours+ in a game I'm fine with buying DLC for it but content seems to be an issue in this DLC so I will wait for opinions on it to come and then decide.

I probably will get it though as I can afford it as not many games this year have taken my fancy to purchase yet.

Yeah, $15 is about 2 burritos. I love burritos, but I'd be hard-pressed to imagine any DLC that's given me less enjoyment than 2 burritos. So it seems a perfectly reasonable price to me - a bargain, if anything.

You should all consider yourselves damn lucky. They want to charge me $25 Australian for this. Even at the current exchange rate (which isn't good for us), it shouldn't cost more than $20. Nope, sorry Bioware. Not paying $25 for this. Not on your nelly!

About 4 comic books. One comic tpb or graphic novel. Almost 2 paperback novels.

Comparing with other series DLC packs:

Witch Hunt, Golems of Amgarrak, Warden's Keep and Leliana's Song are all $7.

Darkspawn Chronicles and Return to Ostagar are $5.

The Stone Prisoner is $15.

Mark of the Assassin and Legacy are $10.

The Exiled Prince is $7.

And for Mass Effect DLC:

Bring Down the Sky is $1.

Pinnacle Station is $5.

Kasumi - Stolen Memory, Arrival and Overlord are $7.

Lair of the Shadow Broker is $10.

Citadel and Omega are $15.

From Ashes and Leviathan are $10.

All of that, of course, has been out for a while.

I just post the numbers. You folks do with them what you like.

It's not that $15 is a ton of money, for me it's just that the DLC doesn't look very entertaining and would not be worth buying.

Hooooly yeah. I just saw this price on Origin, too.

It's prohibitive, I'll say that.

I picked DAI up at release for $70 at JB, which is actually pretty good for Aussie pricing. DA2 was $97 with Sebastien at release.

The argument comparing it to what else you can buy with $15 is specious. Prices across completely different markets are not comparable. Now when you compare it to actual game prices $15 is overpriced for what you generally get in a DLC, let alone the price gouging occurring for other regions, so you would want the DLC to be of high quality. IMHO Legacy and Mark of the Assassin for DA2 were both acceptable, from what I've read of JOH it is not especially not for the $25AUD I would have to pay.

As much as I'm sure some will disagree violently with me.

Inquisition has been such a disappointment on many levels (I still love Origins) I'm not going to waste a penny on DLC, and rather wish I hadn't pre-odered Inquisition in the first place ... just waited six months or a year for it to be both fixed and on sale.

What? Really? I wasn't really planning to get it anyway, but there's no way in hell I'd be willing to cough up $25 for it even if I wanted it. No sale, Bioware. No sale.

Oh, but you have to remember that these are imported electrons, so they attract the Australia Tax.
