I think it's its own separate storyline so it doesn't really matter where you play it.  I'm not sure though

The enemies are supposed to be fairly high level from what I heard.

Most enemies I've encountered are lvl 24-26 so it's best to wait until you're a higher level. I'm playing post game and everything seems to still tie in fine.

I'm only level 16, newly arrived in Skyhold so not done with the storyline yet. Would the dlc be a spoiler do you think?

I haven't come across any main story spoilers but I haven't finished the dlc yet.

then i'll do it between emprise du lion and the climax i think if the dlc is a recruiting agent story it doesen't make sense after the climax^^ luckily i'm doing a new playthrough(the fourth XD) i don't need to rush in doing the dlc XD it' just a timeline curiosity XD

Well I am only going on how the dlc/expansions for DA origins and Da2 were.

 

Kinda like there was low level armor and high level armor in the dlc so you knew that it was supposed to be used earlier. But the other two, where you got the two artifacts in Hawke's Kirkwall mansion, those were really hard and I ended up having to start over after trying them too early because my level was not high enough. They did not ruin the storyline though.

 

Going on that kinda format, I am just uncertain how this dlc will work but I despise spoilers so I am being cautious.

 

I appreciate everyone's info/advice btw.

I would say you could play it post game or just before the game's conclusion, but you definitely want to be lvl 20+ before playing. Personally I will likely always play it just before the finale because of all the good loot you get.

It should be the last wilderness zone you explore, but before What Pride Had Wrought IMO.
