DAI already has double as much romances as DAO and DA2 so I doubt they will add any in the game anymore.
More romanceable female characters

Hum... a bunch of amusing replies...clearly many of you folks have been on this forum longer than I have. But I do not think many of you have been gamers as long as I have....
Bioware makes fine games and this forum thread asks for feedback and suggestions, so these were my 2 initial ones, regardless of what was posted before.
Keep the ideas coming,
Best to all,

First, he had 2 comments and said he enjoyed the game. Second, look at post #2. Not sure I would stay on the forum to talk to people who welcome my request about a game I deem "fabulous" with "So go play Origins".
To be fair to that poster, she's very protective of her Warden's bae.

Compared to the rants I've seen about "BIOWARE HATES STRAIGHT MALE GAMERS OMG WHY HAVEN'T I GOT TEN MORE OPTIONS THAN GIRLZ", I see nothing wrong with this thread.
When you factor in the bi options, though, doesn't everyone come out roughly even?

Well, but look at the straight girl options...only Cullen and Blackwall don't look like figures out of a horror film.
Yes, I said it. Come for me...

Also, it seems weird how much Solas is counted, race-gated and additional as he is, doesn't it?
I don't know, it just seems like a narrow way to look at it, when the two that throw off the balance were added later and are race exclusive.

Yeah, true. I just meant there wasn't a glaring disparity - there never really is in Dragon Age. Now liking the options you DO get, that's different...

I provide a blunt yet perfectly reasonable solution to this particular request. If that scares people away, meh.

Scaring away or maybe not wanting to deal with a bunch of stans that ride way too hard?

Scout Harding kind of counts, doesn't she? You can have sort of a romance with her. Is that one limited to a male dwarf? Straight guys got 2 romances in the previous two games too, so its not like there is a crisis.

Wait, you can romance her? I thought you can only flirt with her.

She's a flirt-only. For now......
I'm still fully expecting a Harding romance (bisexual, ungated) in DA4.

Oh that would be cool. She's the only one that can rock that do without seeming like she's a samurai (not that there's anything wrong with samurais).
I kinda had a thing for Harding...I think she was feeling me too.

Yeah, she says that you and her should talk about it again after Corypheus is handled.
I wonder if you can bring it up in the DLC since she has quite a bit of dialogue revolving around being post-campaign.

She actually has quite a bit of screentime in the new DLC, come to think of it. And her very own quest. Maybe somehting has been added there, if you romanced her.

Oh, okay I got that far with her. That's not really a romance. It's just flirting.
I think it would be nice if there were more options all around. i wasn't nuts about Iron Bull (bald and one eye) or Solas (bald and judgmental) and Sera (hates other elves) and after Anders when Blackwall says "We shouldn't do this" I kinda just trust them at their word.
There's Cullen and Josephine but they never leave the keep.
Basically gay men, straight men, and full on lesbians have the fewest choices because they're down to 1 companion (not counting keep-bounds).
It just feels less cozy than the other two because you can't talk while on a mission.

Oh goodie, this thread again.
For those that are wondering about the instant snark coming from the posters, daveliam posted the general attitude. For one, there has been folks in the LGBT community that get constantly told that we are "demanding" things from BioWare. In the KISA thread alone, I can't count how many times we were told that "DA isn't a dating sim," and that "They aren't going to add more gay characters." Outright ignoring posters that have stated that they don't want BioWare to add any romances to the current game, but only offering ideas for DA4 and beyond. It's very safe to assume that there will be gay characters and gay LIs again, so we're asking for ideas. Then we get accused of asking for a romance DLC.
It has gotten very old for some of the more veteran posters, who have noticed a depressing trend. If a straight guy comes in asking for more romance options, or for a DLC companion for a third LI option, more often than not they aren't flamed in the same way.
For another, Mike Laidlaw (lead designer and head of the DA team,) has said that there won't be any DLC companions this time around. The reason is due to the controversy that gamers decided to take upon themselves to make. See, in order to make sure any DLC companion fits organically into the main game (interacting with the rest of the party and PC, ect,) the developers have to put some of those character files in the main game. When gamers found out about this, they got furious and starting claiming that (sigh) BioWare was charging for the same content twice. Never mind the fact that the player is paying for the rest of the DLC instead of just a handful of files. Mike pretty much said, "Screw it, we're not doing a DLC character." I'm pre-coffee at the moment, but the article is out there.
Third, Vivienne is in love with someone else, and recently widowed. She isn't going to be interested in a relationship, not to mention that Allan mentioned in a thread last year that office scuttlebutt says that Mary Kirby (her author, who also did Varric and Sten) doesn't like writing romances. So I wouldn't demand the writer to do something she doesn't feel like doing. Leliana could also be with the Warden, and the devs (wisely) don't want to mess with that.
OP, I don't say this to be rude, but the LGBT community and female players have been told for years that we either didn't "deserve" romance content because we were in the minority, or that we should just "shut up and deal" with either having one choice or no choice. As a female player, my favorite BW romances so far are Garrus* and the Iron Bull, neither of which are conventionally good looking. So there isn't going to be a lot of sympathy coming from the fourms.
*I know the former was very popular among the ladies/those that play female characters in ME. I had to clarify, because my husband has played straight female PCs before, and he's a straight guy.
Anyway, sorry that you didn't get the choices you would have preferred. No sarcasm either, since I looked at my options in DA:O ("lost virgin prince," "Visionary" and "Casanova Elf,") and I was less than impressed at first. After giving those romances a try, I found that I really enjoyed Alistair's in that game. If you haven't yet, give the current romances a try. You might surprise yourself and have fun. It's better to do that than to hope for any new LIs coming in the form of a DLC. If you have tried them and didn't like them, better luck next time.
Zobert, I know a lot of lesbian, bisexual as well as straight women that would disagree with you entirely. I can understand that it's your opinion, but it doesn't change the fact that everyone got two romances except for female elves and female humans. I found Cullen's romance content to be pretty rich, and have as much depth to it as the companion romances. Again, I know you don't feel the same way, but please don't try to confuse the facts in here.

Re: Oh goodie -- no one forces anyone to read any thread unless all of you are under mind control from a talking Darkspawn that forces you to read.
Don't read them if you find them tiresome or boring rather than insult new posters.
Re: LGBT folks...I don't claim to speak for LGBT folks so not sure what you're even talking about or why my being bi needs to be brought into the discussion or taken into account when I said it would be nice if everyone got more options of LIs that traveled with you and that gay men and lesbians had the fewest choices.
All T, no shade...I'm done, like you're done with these threads, with having to always think about what other members of the LGBT community think about things or loaning my solidarity to this stuff. I'm an individual. I don't care what anyone who does not know me personally thinks about me, my opinions, or actions. I will own my own opinion and they can post theirs or they can choose not to post theirs. We're not all some collective hive.
So if you want to be a spokemodel for other bi's you go head, gurl. That's not me.
