Uh, is her exact age ever actually determined in the game? I'm pretty sure she's an adult, even if in her very early 20's. In any case, the age gap is kind of a silly argument, since even sexagenarians or higher can play this game, making everybody the equivalent of their grandchildren.

Clearly old people don't play video games or do romance content.

Right Jorji?

I don't have an issue with you having an opinion in regards to liking or disliking a character; my issue is your accusation that we're all predators, pedos or teenagers.

Ironically, that kind of statement is a little narrow-minded.. thus leading to.. childish.

well clearly you do...

Let me simplify that for you.

* I don't care if you hate Sera, or are upset that she was a romance option and was no good enough, blah blah blah.

* I am more concerned with the accusation that myself, and anybody else who romanced Sera in the game, are either pedos, predators or teenagers, based on your skewered beliefs about Sera.

While Dorian is in fact the breakaway star of the game some men don't like mustaches or mages.  Hard to believe, right?

Those people are all wrong and should be shamed for their wrongness.  LOL.

well if you think Sera's behavior is normal for mentally adult person, we must live in VERY different societies

well if you think Sera's behavior is normal for mentally adult person, we must live in VERY different societies

First off. Define "normal"?

Secondly, mentally adult person??? What is that?

I'm going to gamble and assume you're referring to "mentally healthy", or "sane"..

And going by this, let me get this straight;

You think playing practical jokes equates to insanity?

You think that telling it like it is = insanity?

You think being an individual and not acting according to what is generally "accepted" is insane?

If you're referring to the Verchiel March, and the way she beats that noble to death.. isn't that what deep down, most of us would like to do, but are held back by "laws" or "morals"?

We probably do live in similar societies.. the difference being, I don't actually give two tosses what is considered "socially acceptable". I do things my way, I'm no sheep.

Perhaps this is why I love Sera so much, and you not so much..

Alas, it does not make me a pedo, predator or a teenager. It just makes me an individual.

well yes, but from what I read on this forum majority loved Lelliana and Isabella. I understand the need for diversity, but why not keep or follow the steps of what people like and throw something different for those who don't? Both Isabella and Lelliana are seasoned woman not some kids like Sera (well to pick relationship with her you must either be a teenager or a ped... ehm predator otehrwise it's just like dating your daughter's/niece's classmate which I consider to be sick) and both are open minded while Josephine is aristocrat. They kept no trait from either of those characters and the question is why...

I recall plenty of people hating Leliana because she was religious, and many people hating Isabella because she was promiscuous (though that's not usually how they phrased it).

I can see Sera being about the same age as the Inquisitor, of course depending on how you RP your inquisitor.

I never romance her because she looks and acts like she's twelve and a member of the Lost Boys.  She doesn't act like an adult or look like one, IMO.

It feels very Lolita-ish for me.

Cassandra is the ****.  I hate playing males in games now that I don't have to but the other day I gave in and made one just to romance her--then I quit once I read you have to throw Varric under a bus.

Oh well...I will go back to Cullen I guess.

No, I have watched police officers beat criminals down and I think it's just as sick--even if they're criminals.  The Inquisition is a model for justice and mercy.

So let us be just and merciful.

I for one am happy that for once it wasn't completely catered to the male - playing as male - gamers. You got two options for two wildly different types of women and neither of them were written as tropes or fantasy fodder. To me that's sufficient. I tend to play as a female character and I usually only romance females as well and generally my choices are either none or one person that I may or may not like. (Looking at YOU origins Leliana, ME1 Liara.) At least you get two choices. I know it's not the entire female main cast or everything female that moves a-la the Witcher series but would it really kill you to be satisfied with your choices and happy that for once straight males didn't get twice the options of everyone else?

...why people say to romance Cass you have to be bad to Varric? is during their squabble? My elf mage just told them both to stay put, and romanced Cass without problems. And if telling varric that he should have been sincere with Cassandra was "trowing him under a bus"...really, have you ever told a friend something they did was wrong or you didn't like it? or you have always been submissive like slaves to your friends?

You know he asked politely and without rancor or snark.  Would it kill anyone on this forum to ignore people's polite requests instead of telling them to basically shut up?

For new people who want to post here unless they are complete and total hard riding bitches like myself or someone so fleet of foot and long-winded enough to write a white paper that fully explicates their total feelings on inclusivity in gaming prior to making a request, they are going to feel unwelcome by this crowd.

It's like going onto Huffpo and saying that Beyonce shouldn't have been able to sing Ledisis's song at the Grammys--suddenly the Beyhive shows up and you start wondering if the hackers are going to screw your hardrive, find your house, and microwave your dog.

People on this forum long ago lost how to be welcoming.

than probably your approval was quite low. My mage elf had both mages as allies, and simply told both to stay put, and Cass didn't have a problem with her. Probably I had hight approval for having helped all those refugees.

I helped the refugees, though.  I just didn't conscript the mages and said it wasn't Varric's fault.

Maybe because another straight male pandering game isn't necessary. There are enough of those. It's refreshing to have one game by a big company that actually doesn't give all the options to them.

Ummm, asking for additional romance options is begging to be pandered to?  Okayyyyy

But in all seriousness this forum is rude to new people if they mention romance options for straight men and that's BS.  No matter how respectful they are they are treated like they are anti-gay because they want more females or females who look different.  You don't have to hate vanilla to want a chocolate ice cream cone, ya know.

There is a whole KISA thread and demisexuality thread and aint nothing wrong with that.  As consumer's we're allowed to ask for what we want to see in a game, regardless of what it is and who disagrees.

Right but I didn't think it was both their faults.  If I were Varric and no one told me why I was being thrown around, a knife plunged through a book that was sitting on my crotch and told to give up my friend, I'd probably not give her what she wanted, either.

maybe better translation is mentally mature, don't be such a nitpicker...

here definition from wikipedia

"In psychology, maturity is the ability to respond to the environment in an appropriate manner. This response is generally learned rather than instinctive. Maturity also encompasses being aware of the correct time and place to behave and knowing when to act, according to the circumstances and the culture of the society one lives in."

Sera doesn't have even a tiny bit of this ability which makes her immature

Right so..

She's immature, based on an article written on the Wikipedia?

I beg to differ. She is more mature than most people, because she realises that "circumstances and culture of society" and its "expectations" on how people should think and behave.. are a load of crap. ;)

But it's funny though, because one who is "mature" (according to that article) normally wouldn't accuse people of being pedos and predators based on an attraction to one who is clearly of legal age.

Anynow, this thread was doomed from the get go. I will not contribute any further.. Let's just agree to disagree. But a little advice; if you want to rip on a characters' flaws, make sure you don't show signs of these same flaws, yourself.
