How? I can't get her approval up enough. What else can you do?

Aside from siding with Varric and conscripting the Templars, I was generally pretty neutral in conversations with her although that may not be your way as far as RPing goes.

Doing her side quest helped a great deal for me along with her personal quest.

Oh, something else I thought of: Picking Gaspard over Celene is another big affection boost, if you so choose.

Cass is quite easy to win approval with.

Especially in the Hinterlands, helping out the refugees and all that jazz. Also using her special dialogue option when attempting to recruit agents.

I also found that hitting on her boosts approval.. Even if you're a woman.

Sorry I'm out of likes, but that's another excellent example for any companion.  Using their special options (like Varric with the lesbian agent and Solas with the Dalish elf,) will also increase affection.  By the way, never leave any of the companions at home while doing their personal missions.  You won't lose affection, but you will miss out on the Approves/Greatly Approves bonuses.

I may have been a moron and found that out the hard way.

Here's an example:

My first character, my dwarf, had a lot of trouble getting along with Sera.  In most conversations, she was at least slightly disapproving of at least one thing my PC said, and much more in conversations after the Well.  However, thanks to War Table missions and judgments, Sera got high enough affection with my character to do the Rooftop scene.  So that's another trick I learned.  Cass is much the same way; she likes the judgments where you give back to the people, such as sentencing the mayor to repay the village, or making the Dutchess do farm labor.

Same here. She was very irritated with me about all things related to magic and Mages and Elves (weird how often that seems to come up even as a Trevelyan), and I was have a really hard time not just save scumming and metagaming my way into her good graces (I promised myself I wouldn't do that).

It wasn't until that mission with the noble that she can potentially beat to death that things started looking up. I've never been so happy I took a perk before.

Cass was actually much easier for me than Sera, because there are plenty of opportunities to assure her early on that you have faith in her and respect her, while Sera doesn't open up to the player until later in the story.

It turned out to be pretty easy to reach full approval organically with most of them, even if you agree with them on just about nothing, provided you are actually trying to be their friend and help them with their requests.

Love doing that.

I can't do that for RP reasons.  My Inquisitor knows that would just leave things open for another war, and frankly, she'd rather not get dragged into the middle of it.  Again.

Makes sense. Mine was just desperate to resolve the issue quickly and get access to their resources. Let tomorrow's issues wait until the world is saved.

But with this we might digress very rapidly.

I know my Qunari is going to agree with your PC.   You're right though; since the OP isn't being a jerk, we should probably not derail this further.  :P

Conceding that it is technically accurate to ascribe negative implications to the concept of pandering, it is still a matter of opinion whether those negative implications apply to requests like these. Also conceding that OP hasn't been close to as demanding and infantile as most who make topics similar to these, it is still requesting that straight male PCs receive a larger number of LI options than gay male PCs or Lesbian PCs, and suggests that the requestor only considers that straight females have more options, and doesn't consider that the other exclusive sexualities are likewise limited in options.

Finding that improper and suggesting that it amounts to a request for Bioware to pander to straight males is pretty reasonable.

Except that its not because asking for "more" females is not asking for "more than".  It's possible that he would be open to gay males having more, as well.

If I want more chocolate ice cream I don't mean that those with vanilla can't have more vanilla.  It just means I want more chocolate.

Hmm, that's a good analogy. If the OP was saying that he deserves more romances because he's straight, then that would be different.  He would like more options for the sake of it.   Hence the lack of flaming.

Now I want chocolate ice cream.  It's after 11pm and my husband has the truck at work.  Damnit Zobert.   :P

So we've got overly entitled OP who believes that just because the options presented to him aren't satisfactory or typical "Omg I'm going to fall all over you and have raucious sex because you're the epitome of manliness *swoon*" characters he deserves to be catered to and have the writers and devs at his every beck and call.

As much as I love a good jejune rant about overly entitled OPs from overly entitled stans like yourself I'll just stop at: Wow, this is a ridiculous assumption about a stranger and leave it at that.

Exactly because there are some people who actually don't think that gays should have the same options because there are fewer gays than straights.  He's just not one of them.  This guy just has a Leliana and Morrigan crush holdover from Origins--nothing wrong with that.

I would, too.

Its not a knock on Bioware.  They did something right if two games and several DLCs later you still miss those characters.

I did that one and that got me approval from her, but she was angry about the dialogue I chose at the end of Wicked Eyes that I picked because it allegedly would get me high approval with Sera and nothing from the rest, instead I also got Cassandra disapproval.

Maybe I'll start over and try it again because I love Cassandra.

This analogy dances around my point more than it addresses it. OP, like those who have made similar topics before him, only suggests the addition of females (Vivienne or Leliana) expressly available to males into the pool of options. His not speaking out against more options for gay PCs does not assuage the fact the fact that he's focused specifically and exclusively on the options available to straight male PCs and his potentially being "open to it" does not in and of itself invalidate the accusation that he, by being entirely focused on having more options available to his gender and orientation, is requesting to be catered to as a straight male, or pandered to if, someone feels like the appellation is appropriate.

I do feel that appellation is appropriate and so did the person you initially rebuked for using it. Perhaps we don't deserve to be lambasted for our opinions any more than OP deserves to be tarred and feathered for his?

Yeah, my major story decisions got a couple of Greatly Disapproves, yet I maxed her out well before the game was through.

Yeah, I tend to gravitate towards the heart options so I got a fair boost in approval there, as well as that encounter in Skyhold where Cassandra's finally getting concerned about all the flirting.

I have to try to do this in my next playthrough. Getting someone executed is fine and good, but getting to screw with everyone simultaneously is priceless.

I don't think I quite get you... Giving the exact amount of options to each sexual orientation, of asking for more of one gender as OP did - OK, I get how we can ask for that. But how in Andraste's name do you expect BioWare to give EVERYONE an option they like?! Let's say you and I are both paying customers of BioWare and die hard fans. We have complete opposite LI tastes. So, who does BioWare cater to? How the heck do they even *know*?? :s

Even if they go back to the DA2 playersexual model, you cannot guarantee everyone will like the options presented. Not liking the options really isn't something BioWare can be expected to tackle, in fairness.

I don't want Bioware to make character for me on my terms (from posts that are on forum others are quite specific so something like latino homosexual, demisexual, brunette with long hair, legs and big boobs with fetish for leather miniskirts) i want them to bring back - or make some similar to- those we already had - Lelliana or Isabella (or even Merril) or to make an option to persuade Cassandra (or possibly Morighan) to lesbian relationship

Smart and witty I can get behind, but tough? "Able to hold her own"? What?

Not physically. I meant in conversation. She's not meek and fluffy.

I don't know about fluffy, but she is pretty meek. The only time she really seems comfortable is when she and Shepard play chess.

She even says it herself in the Citadel DLC during the party. She's surrounded by all of these very famous, high-ranking people, and she's just a lowly comm specialist.
