Hi Bioware. I commend you for your work and again thank you for an amazing experience with your third installment of Dragon Age. I'm sure there has been requests like this in the past but if there is, consider it another voice for the request to return original mesh settings (to PC especially!) so we can start new games with the graphics we were blown away with in our first run through Inquisition.

As you know, some of the common flaws in our current graphics leave settings on low. Our Inquisitors are also complaining that their very shiny hair is giving their position away to enemy Tevinter units in field as well as attracting low flying dragons. Some Inquisitors are particular about their battle scars and find it demeaning that although their wounds have healed, their scars that brought them the respect of their soldiers are now no where to be found and resulted ridicule by Inquisition troops.

You guys haven't let me down yet, and I know it's a matter of time. But I want to remind you with this request so that you know that it's really really important to all of us to continue enjoying everything you're doing for us. Thank you!

What? Pretty sure this was all fixed a long time ago. With mesh and shaders on ultra you'll get all the scars and non-shiny hair.

It's not fixed for me for some reason and I have been updating, restarting my game with medium to ultra settings and nothing has changed. My NVidia drivers are all updated as well...

BioWare added a shader quality setting. You now have control over both mesh quality and shader quality. If you wish the launch behavior, set shader quality to ultra (regardless of the mesh quality setting); if you wish Patch 2 behavior, set shader quality to be the same as mesh quality (or, if you really liked that steaming pre-hotfix mess, set it to low—go on, you know you want to).

Shader quality is at the bottom of the list in the graphics options, so it's perfectly easy to miss if you never scroll all the way down.

Thank you I'll try this out. I didn't look to the bottom of the list.

Yeah, I'm not sure how it interacts with the global graphics quality slider, so it may have been set at a lower value and wasn't changing.

Shaders need to be high or ultra to get the good blending (for complexion) and scars. The closer your shader quality is to mesh quality, the better the hair should look (you can experiment with the settings to get performance and appearance that you're comfortable with).
