Criticising a product =/= Disrespecting the developers.
True, but there also too much name-and-shaming of individual devs.

But those people are almost always trolls, and if someone is out there to intentionally grief others, then they are most likely not gonna care about this thread. In fact, I think they're probably gonna get a hard on by reading these posts ....

I have worthless coconut cake if you want it.
A worthless coconut cake, and our condolences. The reward for however long it takes on the BSN to accrue 2500 posts.
(I'm almost there, too.)
I hate it when people use insults, threats and general hatefulness to express themselves. There isn't a need for that behavior at all and is more likely to have any criticism or opinion, valid or not, ignored. I see a lot of vitriol and I don't blame the devs from distancing themselves from such toxicity. I would, too, if I am honest.
I also see a lot of valid and constructive criticisms thrown out by those who label anything critical as "whining" or "useless complaining" and soon the thread gets filled with bickering and mocking and before you know it, any validity gets muddled with the typical BSN cage match.
That being said, if I buy a product and it isn't up to the standards that I believe it should be, I will say as much. Everyone should. Offering singular praise and ignoring issues that are problematic does nothing for the devs either. It can't help them improve--and there is always room for improvement. But yeah, no need to be an ass about it. That doesn't help either.
I had never even heard of BSN, until I wandered in here last year through a link in a news article that pointed this way, when Mike Laidlaw announced DAI Romances through the forums (which I found remarkable):
http://forum.bioware...ge-inquisition/
I started participating here after things got messy in the fandom on tumblr after DAI came out, but I see that people here (not everyone, but a compelling enough group of voices) have become bitter and unappeasable. What happened to the fans' amicable relationship with the devs?
Were things ever good between fans and devs, or was my intro to BSNland just a lucky fluke of a first impression?
Were things ever good between fans and devs, or was my intro to BSNland just a lucky fluke of a first impression?
Things were never really good here, but the relationship didn't become untenable until Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3 came out, and a not-insignificant amount of people decided that expressing their opinion in the most a-holey way possible was the surest way to have their opinion heard. The devs largely retreated from the boards, and it hasn't been the same since.
I've nothing against the Developers nor the DLC itself. I do have a problem with the price, and I don't know who to blame for that, but I'm thinking the marketing people.
Funny thing is that such things is extremely rare here in DA section.True, but there also too much name-and-shaming of individual devs.
It's like Mages VS Templars!
We need Happy Fun Time Peace Treaty Negotiations.

If you do, let me know, because I was robbed! ![]()
They lost my respect. Simple I beta tested for them, and patch 6 goes live without a word form even one of them to the beta testers. We basically got the brush off. Things that we told them were not working right or not good enough are still not right, or good enough and, now you all have to put up with it. That is not right and, not what I expect if a game developer actually cares two hoots about it's players. Clearly EA/Bioware does not care at all, even when we beta test for them for FREE.
Please do.I can give you a 'like' if you want...
I respect the devs plenty because they are human beings. I don't respect a company which charges me a third of the full game price for what is essentially a reskinned hinterlands.

Unless you are a Dev that works for Bioware and have some inside info on that character which you are clearly not. Your answer is invalid.
Well since I wont be buying it (Pillars of Eternity has eaten my game budget this month), and it the DLC doesn't look attractive to me anyway...
