It's part of the quest to gain the approval of the avaar people.
Spoiler
So after 3 waves, that's it? No more arena? *I suppose it's meant more as a quest than an actual arena.

I don't believe so ![]()
Finally some good news.
Did you get to talk to or fight Avvar women?
Both ![]()
So how is the DLC turning out to be enjoyable bad news?

General consensus on the DLC seems to be "BOOOOOOOOO" so someone actually enjoying the DLC is blasphemy!
This is the Bioware forum. If people can't complain about something, they'd explode in a shower of butthurt. I haven't gotten it yet (I'm busy on a video playthrough of ME2 and GoT episode 3 just dropped) but I'm thinking I'll enjoy it.
Yea a Avvar woman is there tribe leader and has a cool name
There is an "ice giant" boss. He can use ice AOE and is not easy to beat, but easier than a dragon.
Argh, that guy was though!! Seriously it hurt a lot! I killed him by miracle because I was out of potions and everyone was basically dead XD
Only have the dragon and the top fortress left I think. Will finish tomorrow!

That Ice giant was the first hostile I encountered. He kicked my ass twice. So I gave up and went to close a rift. In the main campaign, rifts were easy (even on Nightmare) so I thought I was in the clear. Then the rift spawns 4 Pride Demons and I get my ass handed to me again!
But I like the challenge. Better than facerolling the entire time.
The Ice Giant was one of the first things I ran into as well. The ONLY reason I survived is cause Blackwall is OP as hell. My Reaver Inquisitor couldn't handle it, and neither Sera or Solas seemed to be capable of standing back far enough to not die. It took forever, but Blackwall prevailed!

I just checked this morning and it wasn't there but now it is OMG
thanks for the unintentional heads up ![]()
Anyways, what's the bad news? That there are more bears?
The friendly Avvar woman overlooking the funerals is pretty bangin'.
It's a pretty cool DLC overall.
Not a lot of cutscene but way more dialogue than your average area in DAI.
Some npcs noticed I was an elf and made comment about that.
Some screenies that I took, if anyone's interested. The last one is the new Inquisitor Armor:
So as usual the negative opinions rush in first to say the DLC is horrible, etc, and then the story starts to change as people play it.
Just finished a complete playthrough. I loved it, this is how every zone/map/area in the base game should have been (AREA NARRATIVES!
), also I love the astrarium puzzles so much so I was happy to see a new set.
Played with a lvl 24 assassin, at first the combats were very challenging (first thing I did was fight the giant, and he almost TPK'd me). By the time I had wrapped up though I did a crit against the big bad for 10k damage, the toughest part of the big bad fight was running from area to area to fight him. Story wise it was really really good, the dialogue was great and I felt for Ameridan (though I keep saying "American" every time I read the name). I played it post playthrough but now I really wanna do one before fighting Corypheus so I can bring Solas with me, so much spirit stuff going on.
What I would have liked to see:
More new armor appearances, the purple I got at the way end was ok enough, but the Refined Prowler Armor was butt ugly on me, so I stuck with my silverite trenchcoat most of the game even though it only had 206 armor.
New companion quests/personal dialogues. Like how MotA there was a little quest for each companion, and the great scene of the two companions going to find you while in jail.
More tactically challenging combats, too much tank and spank, nothing really tough like LegacyCorypheus yet in DAI or Malvernis.
Minor nuisance, the camps had armor/weapon crafting tables, but no modification tables so I had to keep running back to swap out runes and such.
Also in the future how about mentioning the DLC sooner than the day before it is released? =p
Edit: Also I didn't see a single flirt option the entire DLC
my Inquisitor is supposed to be incorrigible rogue!

No. It is the worst piece of **** Bioware produced, BY FAR. It is worse than the game with all kinds of boring fetch quests in a single area. You save animals, collect shards, collect materials, collect other random things, collect, collect, collect... People who can see dialogue among 999 trillions of millenia of fetching **** have a very selective vision. It is like finding a specific proton in the whole universe. People are just lying because they spent money on it and are trying to believe and convince themselves it was not a bad deal, IT IS. Again ratio 1:10 of story to boring quests. Also, stupid puzzles and other stupid things. Bioware in DAO knew cinematic talking and mid sized areas were gold, now they seem to believe useless lore and huge areas are great. Someone hit the head and become dumb, as in, ALL BIOWARE DEVELOPERS.

Please define a quest that isn't a "fetch quest". There were some great story quests in this DLC, the warrior/mage guy who goes crazy on the Hakkonians, the exiled augur's apprentice, finding the kid who went climbing, and those are just a couple side quests off the top of my head. Main quest story was really good, I liked it better than DAI's central plot =p

You seem like you have a missive chip on your shoulder. If you hate DAIs game mechanics so much than stop playing it & go play a game that has no fetch quests. I hear the order 1886 doesn't have any. Of course, it doesn't have much of anything but it doesn't have what you didn't want. So that's good right?
Oh wow, that's an actual game. For a moment there, I thought you were suggesting traveling through time to relive the good old days.
