Please define a quest that isn't a "fetch quest". There were some great story quests in this DLC, the warrior/mage guy who goes crazy on the Hakkonians, the exiled augur's apprentice, finding the kid who went climbing, and those are just a couple side quests off the top of my head. Main quest story was really good, I liked it better than DAI's central plot =p

Yes wow amazing trail of bodies and rage demon. I regret reading the plot on this quest. Since it is not Avvars related I thought I could read it without sleeping and I was damn wrong. Aldo bothered with the exiled one, then I was sure that skipping text was the best thing ever! Each line I read or listen is a wish there was a time machine to go back in past.

Cool stories: Truth about elves and dwarves. Stuff with Solas and other elven gods. Stuff with dwarves before the story we know, before the blight. Going to the golden city. Or just travelling physically through the fade. Stuff that matter, not saving bears and collecting shards or fighting yet another boring dragon, they made me miss Varterrals, at least they were original.

Bad stories: Anything about any ****** boring culture in Thedas. They wanna talk about culture? Don't they have world of Thedas? Comics? Books? Tabletop RPG? Seriously, use the main games for interesting thing not some random shamanic barbarians.

The Dlc was awesome. Took me 6 hours to 100% it on Hard.

Did it post game with my Female qunari mage, Bull, Cass and Varric. Had a grand time with everything being weak to fire.

Tons of new schematics, party banter, few good cutscenes.

Helped a tribe of barbarian people, solved puzzles, fought in a tournament, explored the tree tops in Ewok style houses.

Fought a dragon and judged a bear lol lol lol lol
Cassandra: Ugh

I got my money's worth

No. It is the worst piece of **** Bioware produced, BY FAR. It is worse than the game with all kinds of boring fetch quests in a single area. You save animals, collect shards, collect materials, collect other random things, collect, collect, collect... People who can see dialogue among 999 trillions of millenia of fetching **** have a very selective vision. It is like finding a specific proton in the whole universe. People are just lying because they spent money on it and are trying to believe and convince themselves it was not a bad deal, IT IS. Again ratio 1:10 of story to boring quests. Also, stupid puzzles and other stupid things. Bioware in DAO knew cinematic talking and mid sized areas were gold, now they seem to believe useless lore and huge areas are great. Someone hit the head and become dumb, as in, ALL BIOWARE DEVELOPERS.

Please don't assume you are speaking for everybody. And why do you have to be so selfish and rude and invade a positive thread? Do you bully people in real life? Or is being rude on a game forum a hobby for you?

There are plenty of negative threads for you to get off on. How about stop being a selfish bully and have a modicum of courtesy and let there be one positive thread for the people who enjoyed it. GROW UP

I kind of brought up the same point earlier. Of course mine was more offensive & bit ruder but I was trying to say the same thing.

Anyway. Thank you for bringing that up. These jokers have seemed to take over the forums as of late(even more than usual) & it's getting really tiring. :(

These people are like the same people who complained about DA2 and ME3. I saw complaints for DA2s DLC and ME3s.

They are nothing but selfish whining bullies who are mad that the developers are not catering to their needs.

If I was a MOD......the extreme hate would be deleted instantly.  I would keep the polite criticisms but all the hate and bullying would be gone and the people banned. Good thing I'm not a mod.

Me too. These guys really bring down the mood. This is a forum for polite discussion & light gushing of a great game series but a lot of bad people use it as their soup box to air their petty grievances & it's maddening.

*sigh* Oh well, at least I have good people like you to discuss things with, thanks for that. :)

I can't believe my eyes! A positive thread!! But, in all seriousness, I thoroughly enjoyed the DLC as well. This may actually be my favorite Dragon Age DLC released up until now. I absolutely loved the new area, it's completely gorgeous! Also, it was really nice to have some expansion on the Avaar lore. Previously, it had been pretty dull, and I couldn't even force myself to read the codex entries on them. But, their culture was a delight to become acquainted with. Oh, and don't even get me started with the first Inquisitor! When my Levallen met him.... It was quite touching. Not to mention the awesome looking armor set he gives you! Finally, my Knight Enchanter actually looks like she's fit to walk into the middle of a battlefield haha Overall, this was worth the $15, and the haters be damned. I really want to replay it, and bring Solas with me. Oh, last thing. I really enjoyed the connections between the Avaar and Ancient Tevintor. Some of the codex entries about "Silent Hakkon" being in the body of a dragon, and being as viscous as Dumat himself.... I'm curious as to where they will take this. Oh, and what is this talk about judging a bear? I missed this, and I feel left out now.

You can still judge the bear if you haven't, just interact with it in Sun-Hair's cave. It's an end-game thing anyway. I loved going into the Avvar lore too, I always had trouble figuring out how they were different from Chasind but they are a well developed culture now. Lilithor just seems to want all quests that are "earth shattering" but that becomes mundane if that's all there is. The main quest was pretty earth shattering on its own with the idea there can be

Spoiler

I didn't quite finish Jaws of Hakkon last night but did spend a few hours enjoying it. I'm sure that I will feel that it was worth the money, based upon the portion of the dlc that I have completed. Loved all of the Avvar stuff and the topography of the new area. I even managed to set up a booty call for our old pal, Sky Watcher!

Got that ham-fisted weapon reward from the war table mission as well! It was also really great taking my original Inquisitor back into action. That Dalish female rogue archer began her life on early EA Access day, and she took Blackwall, Iron Bull and Dorian along with her into the new region.

Because if you're talking about a DLC and someone brings up a feature that isn't a part of that DLC in the same conversation, then that person is a bit of an idiot.

That's a really strong argument you got there.

Yeah, I'm definitely satisfied with the DLC. Playing a little bit slow here as I'm editing the Wiki at the same time, but for me the amount of content is worth the price, and well, I like Nords, Avvars and all the similar groups haha :)

*Would have loved some more war table operations although I'm not complaining about the ones we got.

*More astrariums! :) More Scout Harding! :)

*The area size I'd estimate to be similar to Hinterlands, definitely not Crestwood nor Exalted Plains as some have claimed

*The amount of quests is 20+, it has a main questline and several interesting side quests.

Just saying the above as I've seen lots of claims about "small area", "completed in 2 hours" and so on. I'm sure it is possible - if you don't grasp the essence of an RPG (and it seems those people definitely don't). And in this case you might consider finding another genre that suits you more.

My only complaint is about the sitting posture of the Avvar leader, I mean that's just too Ulfric Stormcloak even if I try really hard to ignore it :) Grr.

Is there a hardier dragon with like double the hp of the highland ravager or something more epic, it is a lvl 20 zone after all, I wouldn't mind seeing a lvl 25 dragon or whatever

The dragon is level 24 or 25, but if you start the DLC at something like 23, by the time you get to him you will be around 27 so he shouldn't be too hard.

While I was hoping for something more story-driven and a bit of extra-cut scenes I am enjoying it very much.

I played 4hs yesterday and cleared what I think is about half of the map, but I am a very slow player, who explores every single inch of the map and I often come back to visit again places because I want to be sure that I have not left anything behind  :P . As a result of that OCD I have still sooo many quests to complete .

The main-area quest is really engaging and the landscape is very beautiful. Also so far I didn't find the area really tricky: when someone suggested it was similar to the Oasis I began to shiver.. I have explored all the south zone and recovered all the shards and I have to say that is not even remotely frustrating like that maze. As a matter of fact I found myself liking the Basin far more than many other areas in the main game.

I am also enjoying the new lore, the hard fights (the Ice Giant was really a challenge), the loot (which is finally decent) and the new schematics. This evening I'll play the second half, but for now I could say that I am not regretting the money I spent.

Also you guys may not believe this but if you do the Tyra bright axe operation before the dlc you get an operation mission to show them where you found her axe. After I completed it they gave me a sword that was a little ham fisted if you catch my meaning =p

There's another bonus operation if you recruited the Sky Watcher from the Fallow Mire.

The dragon was 25, and if you're expecting something new and refreshing out of a Dragon fight, you'll be disappointed. It's SLIGHTLY different, but definitely was still a DA:I dragon fight. Still a ton of fun, and I enjoyed the DLC immensely!

While I liked the DLC, I can understand if someone didnt like it. But the worst DLC? It cant be bad like Pinnacle Station, Firewalker Pack, The Darkspawn Chronicles,The Golems of Amgarrak ot the worse DLC Mark of the Assassin.

Well at least those only cost at most half the price, generally quite a bit less.

Yeah, but not thinking the DLC is worth the price is different from thinking its the worse DLC. I think the Omega DLC is overpriced, but still enjoyable, while I think Mark of the Assassin has the right prive but is the worst DLC (history wise) Bioware has ever lanched and I would like my money back.
