NEVER, FOR THE EMPORIUM IS ONLY A FIGMENT OF YOUR IMAGINATION
Later this year.
Seriously, it's the best answer you can get, here.
No! You are not worthy. Starve in the sewers!
At this point, it wouldn't surprise me if the charge it

They never gave a time frame for it they had it part of the testing for Patch 5, but it wasn't part of Patch 6 testing for "they were continuing to work on it internally" which to me means they found some critical bugs that need to be addressed first.

@BioMarkDarrah Any ETA on Black Emporium?
@User likely will be early May.

And for those of you still concerned about it, in answer to a question about whether or not it was free this was followed by: "free for sure".

Thanks :-) It's nice to have an ETA as well as the "free" part.

Lol early May. I really hope they are taking this time to include new character creator parts (namely hairtstyles), in that case hey, I would even be okay buying it. It would be hilarious if they didn't include new things and on top of that they charged you another $15 for it.
I know guys you don't like comparisons but all it took for the PC version of Skyrim was to open up the console and type:
showracemenu
But they also released a hairdresser for console peoples as part of the Dawnguard DLC.
Cause, let's be honest here. What's taking you so long? You already have the Black Emporium models from DA2 (cause I'd like to be proven wrong but my bet is that the shop will look exactly the same), is it the new armor/weapon models? I'll be mad too if they are just recolors of stuff we have in game already. What mechanics of a shop you need to test out so badly? I hope these 3 months of improving will actually show off.
Maybe I just don't understand game development and I'm being mean and picky for no reason. I don't know, it's not like they have amazing communication skills. Sometimes it does feel like they are laughing at us.
Still..

These are some mysteries solved! I was actually holding out on playing the game anymore, waiting for the Black Emporium to fix my Inquisitors' dumb faces. Not sure I'm going to wait until May, but knowing when, at least, is helpful. Hopefully the time remaining is used to make some pretty cool things. I remain optimistic.
Excellent news. Even if it's just a general time frame it's nice to know that there's communication to give people some idea of what's going on.
That said, something always comes up during development, so I'd hope people would be understandable of that. Also, no, it's unlikely they can just move assets from one engine to another via a magic wand, if they could, then DAI wouldn't have been in development for the amount of time it was. Then there's all the possible things that could be broken just from simply implementing this, to say nothing of having to account for the thousands of possible variations players come up with (which can't all be tested anyway, so you catch as much as you can).
Game development isn't black magic.

The graphics card and OS are completely different now so they can't just slap the 360 version onto the new consoles. Plus who knows what additions they might be adding.

Ty for the info.
Even if they reused the same environment geometry, with the new engine and superior platforms they'd need to redo or test everything: the models, textures, lighting, pathfinding - all of it.Cause, let's be honest here.
