[Jedi Master of Orion]

So I tend to play slowly and I've spent about 80 hours of time in Inquisition just gotten a War Table mission from Zevran -"The Missing Assasin". Despite the fact that he is supposed to be dead. The Keep had an option that perfectly encapsulated my experience with him - I hired him and he died when he turned on me.

 

I think the Zevran cameo in Dragon Age 2 that sometimes triggered even when he was dead was one of the very examples I've heard for why the devs opted to create the Keep in the first place. So characters that should not appear don't appear. 

 

"Recruited Zevran/Zevran died" should NOT result in him appearing again. Why is this happening!? Is this a bug in the game or the Keep? Or is it an oversight? I loaded that playthrough state into the Tapestry and it still shows Zevran as dead. The mission also said he heard I was working with the crows when I picked the option where Cullen suggests we don't work with them. I don't know if that is always supposed to happen or not either.

 

The irony was that I actually wasn't one of the people who had the bugged Zevran cameo in the second game. He stayed dead when he was supposed to and appeared when he was supposed to for me to in the old import system, and now with the Keep I'm experiencing MORE import bugs.

I think the missing assassin shows up anyway, just with a different quest giver. Did you check to see the text after you complete it and stuff?

Well the text says it's from Zevran. And Leliana's card says Zevran would be a good ally.

 

EDIT: And yes I played through the mission and it is still word from Zevran.

 

The wiki says that "The Missing Assassin" should only unlock if A) Zevran is alive AND not romancing the Warden AND Cullen is not picked for "An Offer from the Crows."

 

Yet I still got it when Zevran was dead and Cullen was picked to complete the previous operation.

Are you sure you imported? I think the default world state has Zervan alive.

Of course I'm sure. Everything else is right. I customized my Hawke and everything.

Well they got it mostly perfect for a completely new system. Double check your keep tiles tho

I already did. And again just now. Both the copy of the playthrough state and the original world state I imported say "Zevran died."

Hm.  Is this a platform-related thing?  I play on a PS4.  I routinely slit Zevran's annoying, faithless throat on our first encounter and have yet had the misfortune to be subjected to his presence in DA:I in any shape or form after multiple play-throughs.

I have the same exact issue - in my canon state (close to 300 hours in, already completed main quest) everything else has been imported correctly from the keep into the game. However, despite Zevran being listed as "dead" in the worldstate I uploaded, I still get the opperation on the war table; and it still says it comes from Zevran.

If I go back to the keep and download the playthrough state to edit in the tapestry, it still has Zevran marked as "dead". It's a bug. I'm sure they'll fix it at some point - in the meantime Im just avoiding the operation entirely.

At the end of the day, it's not as bad as some of the import bugs from DA2 or the Origins dlcs. And given that the playthrough state still has "Zevran died" marked, I'm assuming whatever is causing the glitch is on Inquisitions end. They can probably fix this with a patch.
