Fighting the Blight is no moral endorsement. The Blight is a threat no matter how evil you are.

And that fact that what came still sucked strikes me as a sign that, no matter how close their friendship was, Drakon's vision was fatally flawed from the beginning.

True.  But this is what he spent most of his life doing, which should not label him a "violent warmonger"

He did forge an empire out of a bunch of warring city-states, but this was in the time of the power vacuum following the First Blight and the retreat of teh Imperium.  One could just as easily argue that, like the Inquisition, he was fighting to restore order.

This is, after all the emperor who tried (though failed) to abolish the Great Game.

Andraste didn't bait the Tevinters into purging the slaves before running away.

I'll settle with the acknowledgement that he's (was) a scumbag, and will be remembered by the mages as such. Which he is.

For all we know she did bait them then run as they purged slaves. Which Anders didn't by the way. He fought for them.

You can think he is a scumbag if you want but I know he wasn't. There are some mages who will remember his as that mostly the brainwashed loyalist. While others know that he help open a door for them. Also remember the War didn't start till two years later. And by the Lord Seeker.

Fortunately in my playthrough she was elected Divine.

So in your playthrough this war is going to start up again in a few years when she allows the templars to use the Circles as their personal playgrounds again. Poor Thedas, Vivienne is going to be torn apart again.

I really hope someone makes a Vivienne gets eaten by a dragon mod.

Even Rhys have low opinion about him and he was libertarian not mention he had to escape beacuse mages hated him for what he did as varric said.

No because mages aren't going to go back into their chains as easily before. People tend to have a problem with being enslaved again after being free. So yeah, Vivienne will cause another mage rebellion which will likely be worse then the last. Also she does nothing to stop people from fearing mages. She wants people to see them all, save for herself, as monsters who have no control and will turn to blood magic or into abominations at the drop of a hat. All so she can control the people.

Maker she is the worst choice for the Divine. She is to selfish.

I wonder how the people of the Hinterlands feel about being corpses in the foundations of this "glorious change".

Mages are quite happy in my epilogue, there is no sign of rebellion.
And plz, show me where its stated she wants people to see mages as monsters, because in my epilogue she have them more freedom and responsabilities.

Probably about the same as the people of Orlais when Celene and Gaspard were fighting over the throne.

Hence why I say that this mage rebellion is nothing but people who already belong to an higher class fighting for even more power.

I wish people wouldn't call the circle system slavery, cos its not slavery whatsoever, what Tevinter does is real slavery

She calls mages monsters every time you talk to her. And making the people fear mages gives her more power of the mages.

I'm sure they are happy I mean who wouldn't be happy about being forced away from their lovers and never allowed to contact them again. Their children who were born while they were free being taken from them to be raised in Chantry orphanages being taught to hate mages or if they are mages to hate themselves. And I'm sure their freedoms include twenty pieces of paper work to open a wind and smell fresh air and likely have to give up a vital organ to step a foot outside. Unless it is to kill on command or heal some noble. Their "happiness" won't last.

So it is wrong for people to fight to be treated like people but it is okay for two people to tear a country apart for more power?

Fiona was a slave and she compared the circle to slavery. So I will take her word for it over anyone else's.

They are treated like people. Hell, they have better living conditions than the great majority of Thedosians

They are tearing apart multiple countries for a romanticized version of a world that is far uglier than they know, uncaring for the how many normal people because oh, who cares if peasants live in squallor and break their backs day in, day out unless they get sick in which case they might as well lay down and die. And this when they aren't being actively threatened by bandits or Darkspawn or abusive nobles or Abominations or blood mages or simple climateric conditions.

Mages aren't fwee enough, that is what we should be worried about.

The fact is that pondering just how freearrow-10x10.png they are is a privilege regular Thedosians can't afford to begin with.

Fiona is the best leader for the mages.

Corypheus thinks so too.

Is not slavery tho, mages might be watched in the circles but their living standards are far better then the normal people who live in Thedas, if they think free food, shelter & education is slavery then id hate to see what they'd do if they were under the Qun mage system

Do you have a video where she called others mages monsters? Because to me its just your wild imagination.

Because every mage wanted to rebel right? There are no mage who misses the Circles right? With Fiona, Justinia and Lambert (hopefully Adrian too) dead, and Rhys and Evangeline under Inquisition watch, things are going back to normal.

They are not treated like people. They are treated like tools to be used and discarded or re-purposed. And I love how you keep coming back to their living condition when people ripped on Dorian for saying the same thing about the slaves in Tevinter.

They are not tearing countries apart for a romanticized version of the world. They are fighting for the right to raise their own children for the right to marry without having to suck up to the right people to be given permission to do so.

They already face abuse by nobles and templars. You can't tell me that when a mage is sent to heal some noble are abuse sometimes.

They aren't free at all if they were then they wouldn't be made tranquil for going outside without permission.

I wouldn't worry about that. Nobody has opinions under the Qun. And if the mages did, nobody's gonna hear it anyway.

slavery

Definitions
noun
  1. the state or condition of being a slave; a civil relationship whereby one person has absolute power over another and controls his life, liberty, and fortune
  2. the subjection of a person to another person, esp in being forced into work
  3. the condition of being subject to some influence or habit
  4. work done in harsh conditions for low pay

I just copy pasted that from Collins dictionary, I dono, I'm undecided. :P

But if someone came into my house, dragged me out and locked me in a tower, because of the way I was born, I don't care if they light some candles, give me a book and steak and chips for dinner, I'd still be pissed.

So are a lot of slave in the Imperium but that still isn't right. Slaves in the Imperium are afforded the same things and everyone can agree that doesn't matter since it is still a terrible thing. Also mages are owned by the Chantry by divine right and have no say over their lives what so ever. If a templar kills a mage and say blood magic s/he isn't even given a reprimand hell s/he may get a promotion. The mages under the Chantry live little better then the one in the Qun System, in fact if it wasn't for the rebellion it likely would have only been a few years before the Chantry started copying the Qun system.

Inmates in prisons get free food, shelter and education if they take it.
