I wouldn't worry about that. Nobody has opinions under the Qun. And if the mages did, nobody's gonna hear it anyway.

The mages would likely long for the days when they were just watched by the Templars after they've been collared & had their tongues cut out by the Qunari

She calls mages monsters every time you talk to her. And making the people fear mages gives her more power of the mages.

I'm sure they are happy I mean who wouldn't be happy about being forced away from their lovers and never allowed to contact them again. Their children who were born while they were free being taken from them to be raised in Chantry orphanages being taught to hate mages or if they are mages to hate themselves. And I'm sure their freedoms include twenty pieces of paper work to open a wind and smell fresh air and likely have to give up a vital organ to step a foot outside. Unless it is to kill on command or heal some noble. Their "happiness" won't last.

Umm, she never called mages monsters in my game.  Just that magic is dangerous.  And it is.

Also, most Circles do allow mages to go out and visit loved ones.  Heck even Kirkwall let Leandra visit Bethany, and that's considered one of the worst.

Yeah taikng kids away from mages is terrible, and should be remedied.  But taught to hate mages?  Umm, no.  Some Chantry types do hate mages, but certainly not all.  That's sheer hyperbole.

And being allowed to leave the Circle only requires permission fro the First Enchanter.  Maybe some require a lot of paperwork, I wouldn't know.  But it is shown that Vivienne allows mages more freedom than they previously had, and keeps the Templars under tighter control.

But all this is off topic.  How about that Ameridan, huh?

Do you have a video where she called others mages monsters? Because to me its just your wild imagination.

Because every mage wanted to rebel right? There are no mage who misses the Circles right? With Fiona, Justinia and Lambert (hopefully Adrian too) dead, and Rhys and Evangeline under Inquisition watch, things are going back to normal.

Not every mage wanted to be in the circle either. Enough of them realized they royally screwed no matter what they did so the chose to take a fighting chance.

I thought you would want Lambert alive and well and terrorizing mages. Fiona wanted what was best for her people and knew that the only way was to leave the chantry. And the Templar decided to attack them for it. As for Redcliff, I would like to see you do better in the same situation. She didn't just have her mages to worry about she also had the mundane of Redcliff to worry about. The templars would have attacked Redcliff and it would have been a "Kill them All and let the Maker sort them out,". Then here comes someone with troops who can help keep her people and the people of Redcliff safe. She couldn't see into the future and know what he was planning all she new is this is the first person in who knows how long actually offering to help her.

Mages are only allowed visitors or mail if they are from noble families but if they are poor well then they are screwed, they will never hear from their families again.

Kaili. She was raised by the Circle and hated herself. And look at Bethany she listened to the Chantry Dogma and hated herself for being a mage. The Chantry teaches people to hate and fear mages. Calling them a sin and the reason that the Maker turned from Humanity. So yeah they do teach people to hate mages. Which I am sure Vivienne makes even worse.

Being allowed out of the Circle isn't up to the First Enchanter it is up to the Knight-Commander and then the mage likely has to trade some kind of favor for that. Or have rich parents who can bribe the Knight-Commander. What freedoms are they allowed did she cut the paper work to open a window down to ten pieces of paper? More responsibilities? Like what? They can serve up their own food? I am sure the tight control of the templars will last a year or two before she declares open season on all mages.

Exactly, it's not like Arianni, alienage elf, visits Feynriel if you sent him to the Circle...oooooooooooooooh.

You are wrong.

Where in the world are you getting all this?  headcanon?  Nothing in the game supports any of these claims.

Yes, some people hate mages.  Some mages hate that they have magic.  No, not all do, not all even teach that.  Bethany didn't hate being a mage, she hated the necessity of hiding that she's a mage.  And if she joins the Circle, she finds the acceptance she craved so badly, and even comes to find peace there, in the worst Circle in Thedas.

And yes, being allowed out of the Circle requires only the First Enchanter's permission.  That such restrictions were placed in the days leading up to Asunder you can blame on a certain terrorist mage blowing up a chantry and a couple of blood magic assassination attempts on the Divine.

but again this is all off topic.  This is supposed to be about Ameridan.

Not head canon. It is stated several times through out the games. Even the Human mage Inquisitor says because s/he was lucky to be from a noble family s/he was allowed to visit family and receive mail. Which means if you aren't from a noble family no visit no mail.

Not some people. A lot of people hates because of the chantry.

The First Enchanter has no power beyond what the Knight-Commander allows. So Permission actually comes for the Knight-Commander.

That's what the templars told her. But I have a hard time believing that. Considering what they do if you send him to the dalish. Remember the whole torturing a dalish boy to find out where Fenryal was at.

Thats weird, considering Wynne only needed First Enchanter Irvings permission to leave the circle tower in DA:O

Well, if we are going to replace the lore with your own, that will make debate very difficult.

So you never let Fenryal go to the Dalish. You should or go look it up. In Act 2 if you go to Sundermount before you do the mission Nightmare where you go into the fade for Fen, you will find a bunch of Dalish Hunters squaring off with a bunch of templars. When you ask whats going on the Dalish tell you that the templars captured one of their young hunters and tortured the boy with fire. Which the Templars will confirm when asked about it. So not replacing anything.

Yeah she did ask Irving but the final decision was actually Gregoir's. If he said on she wouldn't have gone anywhere.

You. Claiming the Templars were lying because they are Templars and Templars lie.

That is what I was referring to.

I have no interest in arguing your headcanon.

Can we not pretend that Bethany wasn't given special treatment. If she wasn't Hawke's sister, she would have been made tranquil and raped by ser alrik like Ella. She wasn't even annuled like the rest of her circle because she had connections. She's not accepted, she's just grown to accept being a sheep because she doesn't have the power to change anything.

even Vivienne's privileges are derived because she was sleeping with Bastien, the head of the council of nobles.

The First Enchanter theoretically has the power to grant permission, but it's academic. The templars always have vetoing power and no one will challenge them for fear of losing their support.

Getting back on topic.

As I said before I think it is a good idea to tell the truth about Ameridan, it could be what the elves and mages need to give them a better place in the world.

Though I have to say, that I was disappointed that this discovery, if released, didn't have an effect on the rest of the game. But truthfully not real surprising.

Meh, this DLC doesn't even adds anything to the keep. I suspect none of what we did there will have any impact in future games.

I really hope it does have an impact on future games. I want to walk up to an Orlsian templar and laugh in their face as I taunt them with the fact that their first inquisitor, the person who created their order was not just an elf but an elven mage. I want to do that so bad.

What have I missed while at work?

That was quite a debate...and a lot of it seems quite nonsensical.

I get that passion can get the better of us in these debates, it's happened to me before, but some of these arguments make no sense.

Ameridan wasn't the first Inquisitor. He was the last of the first Inquisition, he makes reference to his predecessors, who were Seekers.
