Review of the dlc (OP gives no spoilers)... Little story, no unique character interactions.

If this is accurate, it sucks. Bioware has forgotten what made them special.

I actually enjoyed the DLC. To be honest, I liked it more than the previous Dragon Age DLC. Sure, the story isn't anything to write home about, but it got me to turn the game back on. If you read between the lines, there are some interesting lore additions, and the new enemies whooped my ass Dark Souls style the first few times that I met them. The boos fights are entertaining, and the new gear is great. I love the armor that you get from the First Inquisitor. Also, the lore on the Avaar is finally expanded upon. This area has always been a bit lacking to me, and the DLC expanded upon it quite nicely. Not to mention that the area itself is absolutely gorgeous.
While I was expecting a big Solas DLC, I have to say that this was a $15 well spent.

The ridiculous part is people using the post to support their view that the DLC sucks, Inquisition sucks, and Bioware is now a terrible company, when the post itself can be summarized as "It's good, but not quite $15 good. Definitely pick it up when the price drops."

So real quick Bioware "lost" what makes them special after they release one DLC for their new game that was made Game of the Year? Totally accurate there plus using someone's opinion from Reddit instead of telling us your own? Glorious my friend Glorious.

I don't think Bioware's necessarily "lost" what made them special, but they did ignore it to pander to the Skyrim-loving crowd for easy cash and praise from people who care more about big zones than character development.

I find this interesting, because I don't see much, if any, similarity between Skyrim's seamless landmass and Inquisition's 'big zones with fog of war to uncover'. If there's any game(s) Inquisition resembles, from that standpoint, it is Baldur's Gate and the Infinity Engine games. In fact, I'd have no trouble calling Inquisition a less interesting Infinity Engine game with new graphics and more romances.

I dunno. I don´t recall picking elfroot and iron in BG, but I do remember doing something similar in Skyrim.

I feel the area design most resembles MMOs. They usually seem to be a bunch of pretty big areas with side quests and nodes to collect crafting mats.

Really? That's the best you can come up with to justify the comparison?

yeah the DLC is pretty bad
I always buy DA DLC's and ME DLC's on launch and this is the first time I have been disappointed this much
Bioware has lost what made them great
I miss story and character driven games like DA:O
and now we have this Skyrim/MMO wannabe ****
good for people who enjoy something worthless like this I guess

$15 should really offer a ton of content; something along the line of Citadel. If you buy it when it's anything less then you're only encouraging mediocrity.

Why not? You could glue all the DAI maps together in one large Skyrim map and they would be identical. Even fetch guests are the same.

So, exactly like the Infinity Engine games.
