Do we know that it's not Varric who's writing to her?

It's a two-way street to be in a relationship. If you're going to sit down and talk to one of them about how destructive the relationship is, might as well talk to both. As it is, I doubt Bianca's forcing herself on him.

We know Varric writes to her. That's how she learned about Red Lyrium in the first place and where Varric was.

And we know she writes to Varric, because he comments the last time they got in contact, her family sent assassins after him.

My point was that they are both involved in the relationship. Targeting Bianca for the situation she's put Varric in terns of the relationship is a really limited viewpoint. It takes two.

I agree. I was just pointing out there is evidence that he writes her, answering your question.

I'm all for honoring marriage and being true to your spouse, but I wasn't at all surprised about her dalliance with Varric considering the nature of the setting.

Sure, Varric is a big boy but as it seems he is taking it really hard. His relationship to her is not only dalliance. Varric seems to be in love and that keeps him tied to her, unlike her it seems.

Or a companion voiced by Laura Bailey. Do you hear us, BioWare? We need them!

Tales from the Borderlands.

You play two characters over the course of the game.  Rhys is voiced by Troy Baker.  Fiona is voiced by Laura Bailey   :D

Since we don't have the opportunity to talk to Bianca about the relationship, I'm not sure we have enough information to decide her feelings one way or another.

I believe she loves him in her own way, but isn't shy on tacking advantage and manipulating him.

In love maybe like an old married couple, although I got the impression the two have largely moved on romance-wise. I didn't get the vibe there were strong passionate feelings between them anymore. More like bitterness and concern for each other's welfare. Before the events of DA:I Varric hadn't even wrote to her since the end of DA2; which was several years earlier. DA2 spans roughly 6-7 years after DA:O, and DA:I is a decade after DA:O.

I got the impression that Bianca was in the sort of situation where she had to marry to make her parents happy.

She did invite Varric over to her place while her husband is away and Varric can't get caught.

Just did the quest today.

Given the setting and from what we know of the cut-throat nature of the Merchant's Guild, she is likely in a marriage of convenience meant to advance two families fortunes and probably has no feelings for the guy at all.

Of course I have to wonder why the kalnas wouldn't have been happy at the notion of Bianca marrying a noble like Varric, as opposed to a smith, if they're trying to advance fortunes.

Bartrand had turned House Tethras' status in the Merchant's Guild to being one of the wealthiest there was.

I did the quest today and Varric said it. They may be surface dwarves but they are so conservative they practically ask the ancestors for permission to do everything.

The Tethras family may be immensely wealthy, but Varric believes in the Maker.

EDIT: And Varric also deliberately left some details out. He mentioned that he and Bianca almost started a clan war and that's why he has to keep his distance because of the danger to him as a result. He also mentioned that Bianca's wedding was lovely, the one she attended that is, so I'm guessing Varric was seen as a bad influence on her in an otherwise hardcore conservative dwarven family despite his wealth. And her willfulness also being a contributing factor since she apparently skipped her own wedding ceremony and they had to hold another one.
