Varric flatout says it's Bianca during Oh, ****.

I already forgot about that, thanks for the confirmation. Well, ****, indeed.

It grows increasingly absurd that Bioware's forums censor one of the quest names in its own game.

Bianca has a lot of things about her that I could've tolerated if they weren't all packed into one character and I didn't get the impression I'm supposed to like her. Obnoxiously rude? Well, fine, I can deal with that. Sometimes I even find it funny and/or refreshing to meet a character who doesn't think I'm super awesome. SUPER DUPER talented, like omg, so awesome the Dwarf Assembly, not known for its forward-thinking progressive nature, cannot HELP but at least CONSIDER making her a paragon? That's ... well, that's a bit much, but I could deal with that in isolation, I guess. A better marksman than Varric? In isolation, I might actually like that. Threatening me and/or giving me lip when I've been nothing but polite to her? OK, that would probably annoy me no matter what.

It did not help her cause at all that she was voiced by the same lady who did Kira in SWTOR, one of the companions I REALLY didn't like, for ... a lot of similar reasons, actually. Especially because she's a lot like Bianca in the "overly sarcastic and snippy at you regardless of how you treat her" sense. Both characters make me feel like their respective writer is trying too hard with the "Look she's totally sassy! Ha ha!" thing and it just comes across as obnoxious instead.

First Branka, now Bianca. Dwarven women are a pain. I was okay with her until she went all snarky and aggressive for no reason. If only I could've opened up a chasm and had it swallow her up... A man can dream...

Which is why Varric deserves to be with Cassandra. Have to seen the fanfictions surrounding the pair of them ?

Speaking of how hard BioWare tried to make Bianca so cool and special.

At 0:32

A surfacer smith, I can't be the only one who thinks it's Bianca. Did they seriously try to make her even more special by having the Assembly consider making her a paragon. By the Ancestors!

Right? The only way that this is even somewhat plausible is if Bhelen is king. But Harrowmont would never allow this. And if they were going to name a surfacer, why would they pick Bianca over Dagna? It's madness!

Thanks to this thread, I have decide that I am not going to be nice to Bianca in my next play through (which is the route I have always taken with her though I don't know how possible it is to react negatively towards her). Bianca can go suck a f***, tbh.

You're right, the only way that there's a chance for the Assembly to naming Bianca a paragon is that Bhelen must sit on the throne, and a traditionalist like Harrowmont wouldn't support it. Thing is, if BioWare loves this new Mary Sue so much they would do anything even twist the lore to make Bianca ascending to paragon status seems plausible and justified regardless of who is Orzammar's ruler.  Because she is so awesome and special, she's responsible for handing Corypheus the red lyrium and her mistake is why the Red Templars existed, but she gets to walk away because she's that awesome, even the ****** Herald of Andraste couldn't even touch her.  -_-

Aye, I'm still baffled that the Assembly chooses her. I mean there is Dagna over there, and she's serve the Inquisition well, hell there maybe more surfacer who deserve such status than Bianca.

It's their story to tell. That being said if Bianca is made a Paragon I will not be happy. Even the insinuation that she was better than Branka ticked me off for some reason. So you made an advanced crossbow (with some possible help from Gerav)? And suddenly that makes you better than the woman who figured out how to work the Anvil of the Void? Yeah....not buying it.

Dagna even has the added bump that she's originally from Orzammar, which I imagine makes her more palatable (and there's at least some world states out there where there's precedent with the dwarf Wardens getting Paragon'd in spite of now being "surface" dwarves).

Doesn't Dagna need some sort of invention/feat though? Like Bianca and Branka's smokeless coal.

I'm not getting involved in this thread. Oh no !!!... having said something it seems i have got  involved.

Well, ok, i liked Bianca, even though she screwed up. I would like to see more of her but maybe that is asking too much. But if Varric is in DA4 then i want to see Bianca too.

So it's goodbye from me and goodbye from me too...untuil next time i pop around :)

Don't forget, not only did she make the awesomest crossbow, the reason she doesn't manufacture it is because she's devoted to world peace. lolol

Really, B? Not even for darkspawn or a demon invasion? I'd have liked it better if her reason was "because my boyfriend gets the best gun, that's why."

I disliked Bianca from her introduction - just the way she came across felt condescending and she treated Varric like a possession rather than a significant other. Then of course it felt like she was hiding something - which I didn't like, and of course what she WAS hiding was the red lyrium secret. For those that say oh well she made a mistake - Varric swore her to secrecy, told her all about what happened to Bartram and she would have either seen for herself or heard about what happened in Kirkwall with Merridith - so she has absolutely NO excuse for letting the secret slip; she KNEW this stuff was extremely dangerous, but put her own curiosity and self above her respect and regard for Varric - it was a completely selfish action.

It really miffed me as well that I couldn't take her to Skyhold and judge her - she deserved to be punished for what she did, but instead we get more snark and Varric being strung on again.

Disliked her from start to finish. ¬_¬

She's making all sorts of huge strides as far as her research goes. I don't know how badly they want a finished product versus basically being the block upon which a bunch of future research is based on.

Yeah. She's a worse Sue than Fiona imho. At least some of her Sue traits can be explained as insane luck and Maric's thing for female Orlesian elves. And things weren't going well for her in this game, even in the best case scenario she gets thrown out of Ferelden by her own son.

No... She one of the only characters i actually liked in Inquisition.. She was very under used and i'm upset at that..

She has far more "substance" than any of the Companions except maybe Sera and Varric (and only Varric because he was more fleshed out in DA 2)..

That wasn't a light threat to me; certainly not sweet. Now you're defending lack of options? Right...

The threat to my character actually felt right to me as i was playing a female dwarf as well, to me she was marking her Territory, which women as well as men do all the time..

Also the threat to my character actually showed me she genuinely loves Varric.

There has been quite a few threads on how much people hate Bianca since DAI came out, so you are definitely not alone, OP.

She actually killed my love for Varric. Thanks to the comics I had built up such high hopes for her character and then it just wasn't delivered. She was made out to be the best dwarf since dwarves started dwarving, but all I saw was someone who talked more than she acted. She is bland. She is the Ann Veal of Dragon Age.

tumblr_lqvjuyCw2W1r1gj1ko1_500.png

But like everyone else, I was incredibly annoyed to find out that she is the one to blame for Carroll being a human rock  Cory having the red Lyrium and you don't get to judge her for it. Instead you have her threaten you over Varric (seriously? This coming from a someone whose family keeps trying to assassinate him for being with her? Suddenly I'm the one putting him at risk? Sort yourself out, woman) and then just leave.

So I get to judge a guy for lobbing a goat at my walls, but I don't get to do anything to the person responsible for Red Lyrium being all up in my space? Why? Because Varric is all 'no one can hold a candle to her' levels of obsessed? Varric isn't that important in DAI, I could have afforded to make him mad. I hope that isn't because they want to bring her back like they did Leliana.

So yeah, not a fan over here. Much preferred her when I thought she was dead.

Some would say that's debatable, but I agree. She may be the worse Sue than Fiona. I would say that things weren't going too well for Fiona in DAI as she lose her sue traits temporary, especially on the Templar route where you can end her role in the DA universe once and for all, and even on the Mage route she'll always eat a humble pie. That said she got her Sue traits back on the Mage route as regardless of which choice you choose for the Rebel Mages. She always walks away unharmed, and even some people would want to judge her for betraying Teagan, and hand over Redcliffe to Tevinter magister it's impossible because the game didn't allow it, and even in some ending she was credited for bringing bright future to all mages.

I wish you could punish/judge Fiona and still keep the alliance. Fiona seriously fucked up. She's a complete idiot and shouldn't be allowed to lead anything or anyone. And I say this as a pro-mage player!

Oh well. At least she never got her happily ever after ending with Alistair. That's something.

I don't want to turn this thread into Mages vs Templars, but believe me, I really wanted to punish Fiona for her stupidity. She deserves to be burn at stake or send to Aeonar if such place truly exist. She fucked up badly, and she's complete moron and imbecile who like you said shouldn't be allowed to lead anything or trusted with simplest task.

I'm not a big fan of Alistair, but I'm still baffled how some people starting to hate him because he banish his own mother from Ferelden. I mean, what was he supposed to do give her a medal?! Even if he knew, he would be a very poor king if he doesn't care about his people at all.

I dislike her a lot. She's rude and she abuses her relationship with Varric. But Varric is an adult and it's his responsibility to leave the relationship if it's not right for him.

I thought she was a pretty typical female dwarf heroine (I'm thinking Oghren's lady-love whatshername?). And I agree. Varric's an adult. He must be getting something out of the relationship (don't ask me what) or he wouldn't keep going back, right? Whatever need she fills, it doesn't necessarily mean it's a healthy one, just one that needs filling.

"If they dont like, they can leave."

Clearly you guys havent been in an abusive relationship.
