I just can't see it as a real threat. Anyway I like Bianca.
Fair enough. She rubbed me the wrong way long before she made that comment, so that really didn't help things, but I can understand how she might be likeable to other players.

I also understand why people don't like her. It was just a surprise to me that some people think her last words were a threat because I don't see them that way. I can see now why some people think they are meant as a threat but I still don't think they are.

I kind of get where you're coming from... that comment about feeding the Inquisitor their eyes could be seen as a playful kind of thing, like something she said to verbalize her protectiveness of Varric... the problem (for me, at least), is that my Inquisitor didn't know Bianca well, and what he did know about her gave him a very negative impression. So that comment seemed inappropriate... maybe to friends or even longtime acquaintences, sure, but not with a guy you just met and who you just finished confessing a rather serious crime to... To me it was just a reminder that she had plot armor that even Supreman's heat vision couldn't penetrate, and that we had to listen to and work with her no matter how we felt about it.
But yeah... It can be interpreted in a few ways based on how the player sees her...

Probably as much a threat as Isabela gives MaleHawke if you're in a romance with Merrill.
It involves knives, and parts of Hawke. And knives removing parts of Hawke if he ever hurt Merrill... ![]()

That wasn't funny either... but I also never liked Isabela... ![]()
Hey, that reminds me... her remark was pretty specific. What does she say to female Hawke? ![]()
What if Bianca didn't intend her last words to be a threat?
There's no indication of this from either her tone or facial expression, nor were they familiar enough for such a comment to be dismissed so easily.
Which is why Varric deserves to be with Cassandra. Have to seen the fanfictions surrounding the pair of them ?
I haven't. But it's a pretty funny thought. Though, I dunno if hooking up with one of your super-fans is a great idea. At least she'd be supportive of his writing career, if nothing else.

Actually, nothing. She just ends it with "Look out for her, will you?"

rofl... just as I predicted. Thanks for the confirmation though.

She wasn't my favorite character either. But oddly enough, I appreciated that she was so protective of Merrill. It was very...Varric of her ![]()
At any rate, I took Bianca's threat the same way. Their relationship is pretty screwed up, but she still cared about him, and didn't want to see him hurt.

Except by that point, Isabela and Hawke have been friends for about 3 years, whereas this is our first meeting with B, so we don't have that rapport. It was probably a mock threat like those between friends, it just didn't sound right coming from someone who hasn't built that friendship yet?
It's kinda someone acting very chummy to someone they don't know well, so the person stops seeming very nice and friendly (even though they have done nothing wrong, per se) and instead ends up coming across as kinda creepy?
I don't hate her at all. I think she's an interesting character and I would like to interact with her again in the future whether thru an expansion to Inquisition or a later game if it fits.

Please no... the series needs new characters, not an endless stream of returning ones.
Actually, I take that back... I am somewhat okay with her reappearing if we have a chance to do something other than just smile and nod at whatever she says and does. Forcing the player to work with a character of dubious morality and giving them no options to oppose them is annoying.
I still prefer new characters though...
There is one thread about same thing already from what I know at least:
I took a peek at this. Interesting. Didn't search the archives for any threads on Bianca.
I never gave it much thought before, but after reading some of it I wonder, what is Varric and Bianca's story? I never really cared, but are they having some long-term affair in DA:I? I figured they had romantic history once but in "Well, ****" they bickered like an old married couple. I didn't sense any passion there. If Varric is staying single for the occasional booty-call with Bianca every few years then, well, I can see some issues with that.

There's always room for returning characters as well as new ones. Just saying that if Bioware decides she should return in some capacity, I'm all for it.
The lack of choices and railroaded morality is why I have not touched the game in forever. Inquisition bores me to death and I very much regret buying it in the first place. Bio is not getting me again that's for f*cking sure.

Not trying to sound insulting, but I'm surprised you'd go on its message board long after playing it if you dislike the game so much. Normally only trolls do that which you don't seem to be.
DA:I certainly had its problems as did its predecessors. All three games are rather unique with unique issues. My OP mentioned the lack of role-playing in DA:I. It was, however, far longer than DA:O and DA2; even without any DLCs. With DLCs it took about 60 hours to complete DA:O and DA2, while nearly 100 for DA:I. Maybe that's because I spent so much time running around the wilderness picking up shards and placing flowers on graves.
We should be able to judge her. Could you imagine executing her and the implications that would have?
But no I don't hate her, she's a very good character.
And on that day, she decided not to play just any female dwarf, but all of them. All the ones that mattered.Dagna already covered that part for me

I don't think it was playful. I interpret it something like this Varric is very important to her and she cares about him a lot. The feeding the eyeballs thing was also exlamation mark so that you will realize how important Varric is to her. The funny thing in it is that she said it to you. You are inquisitor and people or at least strangers should not say those things to you. She knows that. I think it also means that she wants to tell you that she is tough and you should know that and she isn't afraid of you. I think she just act as she would act with anybody. She is like that. She don't care about the person's position. It's inappropriate in that situation but I don't think she cares about that.

I have never romanced Merrill but that sounds scary.

I think it's so absurd thing to say to you to Varric's friend that she really can't mean it.

And you're totally cool with that, huh? Okay, well, to each their own. Personally, I don't find it amusing when my PC is disrespected by someone who is protected only by plot armor. She certainly couldn't make good on that pathetic little threat. Well, barring intervention from the writing staff, anyway...

It being an empty threat or not isn't my issue. That she'd have the nerve to say it at all after the disaster she caused... Hence the OP.

I'm a big fan of Origins and DA II, if it were not so, I would not have registered to post. I visit here out of a hope that Bioware will eventually create Origins II.
The length of DAI is deceptive. Inquisition's predecessors have higher quality side quests and more compelling narratives. On top of the filler we have limited choices, the game has gone backwards instead of forwards. And for all the so-called power that the Inquisitor held, I had never felt so limited in Dragon Age game before.
I hope the DLC is better. Definitely going to watch the video on Youtube just to be safe.

Yes. What she says to my inquisitor is not a problem to me because I don't think it's disrespectful. It's just her way of saying that she cares about Varric.

Well. She has the nerve
I guess that is one thing why I like her.

Apart from the sheer stupidity of her threat, I also hate the fact that she decides to threaten Varric's boss like that. Because that's what the Inquisitor is. S/he's Varric's boss. Idk about everyone else but if my partner decided to show up at my work only to act like an ass and threaten my boss without reason, I would seriously question the relationship. It's not cute and romantic, it's disturbing and disrespectful.
