So most players who gave feedback wanted more MMO fetch quests and a DLC that had no bearing on the story, no impact, no WTF choices, no character story progression, no NPC development/immersion, no meaningful NPC story interaction etc.

I don't believe that for a second.

 

This DLC is just more of the same and that's great if you liked DAI as a MMO. I was sold on the premise that it was a RPG.

As one of the writers on the DLC, I wanted to say Jaws of Hakkon was created entirely after the team finished making Dragon Age: Inquisition. People can like it or not (I hope they do!) but I wanted to clear that misconception.

I have to agree here. I liked Inquisition..but this DLC...well...It has some interesting bits. But on the whole, it felt WAY too Elder Scrolls-y for me. And I didn't have that complaint of Inquisition as a whole either - like a lot of people did. This DLC was pretty much a copy paste of Skyrim's main quest line with the Dragonborn DLC.

That being said, I enjoyed the crap out of the story in the DLC. No, it didn't progress your main story. No, it didn't add anything new to the equation. No, it did not add any new major choices to the game.

 

All in all, the story is interesting. The history is fleshed out a bit, and you learn more about a time when Elves weren't a lower class of citizen. I absolutely loved this DLC for what I believe it was intended to be, a break from the main story. A chance to get more intimate with the history of Thedas. And a higher level zone :-P

 

Worth my $15!

shows that after winning some GOTY awards they don't care about criticism anymore

 

apparently now they have finally found out what DA is all about (according to Mike Laidaw):

a lifeless open world with 1000 fetch quests and no story focus

 

 

Do you enjoy being miserable?  Please hate the game all you want but please stop trying act like you are speaking for the entire audience. You're not. And people like you are making it more and more difficult for people who enjoy the game to post.

Haha. Bully me because, while I agree with some of the points they make when they bash the game/DLC, I come out with a different opinion then them? I respect the fact that they don't enjoy the game, not once do I bash someone for having a different opinion than me. People like that aren't worth the effort it takes to be bothered by them.

BSN is, despite the fact that it exists for several years now, still new to the concept of "opinions" and that they may or may not agree with yours and that the devs listen to a large variety of complaints/criticism, not just 1 type.

I like pointing out that these same complaints have been said for every game and DLC thats been done. 

 

Seriously though, I have nothing against constructive criticism but this forum has become toxic.   When people get bullied for liking the game...something needs to be done

Please read what you just said. Am I a "fanboy" because I enjoy both the game and it's DLC? I do not blindly love the game simply because it is made by Bioware, nor do I agree with all the design choices(Skyrim references....I have never beaten Skyrim, and probably will never bring myself to do so). 

 

I purchased the game based on past games. I have enjoyed both Origins as well as Dragon Age 2(Yes, and I agree with 99% of the criticism over that game as well). The Mass Effect series is absolutely amazing in my eyes, even with all the games flaws and poor design choices there. I give criticism where it's due, but in the end, my opinion of these games still comes out positive.

 

Personally, I've seen more hate-mongering on these forums than fanboying. I do not lump everyone who has a negative opinion of the game into the same category, so please show the same respect and do not classify everyone who enjoys the game as a "fanboy".

If they would just give every important conversation an actual cutscene, I think it would greatly subtract from that MMO feel and improve the atmosphere 1000 times over.
