Welp, I can't do it. Can't play as male Qunari anymore. Because Bioware didn't pass skeletal animation 101.

1. I play as a Qunari archer, their forearms bend into deformed angles whenever I use an ability.  This bug has been present since day 1.  The fact that such an egregious error has not been patched yet is just inconceivably astounding.  '

2. I play as a Qunari warrior, their forearms twist back into themselves whenever I seal a rift.  Every. Single. Time.  It looks ridiculous, breaks immersion, and makes my Qunari look like an idiot.  And it's specific to just male Qunari.

3. And now, I've noticed there is a problem with my male Qunari MAGE.  And you've guessed, it's the EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH HIS ARM RIGGING.  Bioware, when I pay 60 bucks for a game, don't expect it to be perfect.  I don't expect it to ship without some issues.  But getting SKELETAL ANIMATIONS FOR MY MAIN CHARACTER RIGHT is a pretty damn big deal wouldn't you agree?  You'd think there would be some prioritization there.  It is a glaring issue that one can see clear as day during gameplay 24/7, so it's not like it's a minor issue.

Looks like I'm forced to go back to playing boring vanilla human Trevelyan.  Thanks Bioware!  Thanks Obama!

They didn't pass Anatomy 101 in general, and it disgusts me. Especially male elves with their... well, everything, what the hell? Plus, in cutscenes, the male elf's arms recede into his body for some reason, and his animations don't line up at all.

And the weird fact that every PC's body shape completely changes depending on what outfit you have on? For example, a human male turns into a weird fat guy when he wears the heavy inquisition armor.

I know how you feel and I'm just as mad, tbh. Bioware, can't you hire people who actually know how anatomy works for a change?

I too blame Obama for this.

Good thing my Qunari playthrough character will be female.

I think the male Trevelyan mage is interesting though, not boring.

Mages are always interesting.  B)  That's why my main happens to be a male Trevelyan mage.

You think that's bad? Dwarf female rogues disappear inside prowler armor. I kid you not. The bottom half is the default dwarf legs, so no problem there, but the top half of the armor uses the human female prowler armor. All you see of my poor Cadash are two arms sticking out of some headless human's rib cage.

I love how Bioware and Quality Control are mutually exclusive these days. They just don't care anymore, and it mostly feels like they're simply pretending to, just to placate their consumers.

I have been wondering about this! Ugh, it looks so terrible.

I'm also annoyed by the chin clipping. Any time my m!Adaar is in his Skyhold-themed pajamas, cutscenes always include his chin disappearing through his collar. Or his head is chopped off!  :P

They went to the Obsidian school of QA. But seriously I think it's the 5 platform release.

I think it's animation issues like you see them with female human Inquisitor as well, Cory is supposed to hold her from her arm/wrist, but instead she just hangs in the air while Cory holds.. air in his hand. Things like that, it shows that something else is used as default and base which seems to be male human Inquisitor.

So many issues and so few fucks given by BioWare. Male elf arms get sucked into the torso? Qunari male wonky arm animation? Female spine deforms in a creepy cartoonish way when she runs? Who cares, let's patch out the exploits people like instead of fixing it.

I'm really disappointed with the Qunari race. The only Qunari I will ever play in this game is Iron Bull... at least, his animations don't look so messed up.

I think the male elf skeleton itself is fine.  I don't think it's too thin.  However, please fix his bad posture and elbow.

Not just the shoulders--everything. Especially the creepy broken feet. It's as though they were trying to make them pigeon-toed but couldn't be bothered to do it correctly. It's most obvious in the pajamas where the male elf looks like he has creepy dinosaur/alien feet or something. It all needs to be fixed, shoulders, feet, weird hips and posture, proportions, everything.

I think male human mage is the character who best fits the game's story.

I think male human mage is the character who best fits the game's story.

I'd say:

-Male(/Female) Human (Warrior/Mage)

-Female Elven (Rogue/Something)

The other three (Male Elf, Dwarves, Quanri) just don't have enough for me to think they matter enough.

Not to say that I think Dragon Age will always have this. I'm looking forward to a DA with much more Dwarf and Qunari stuff. MUCH more.

And hopefully a better Male Elf PC model.

I don't see how gender would affect, though I kinda agree with human mage since whole mage vs templar war that started DAI's happenings.

Bioware just doesn't hire skilled animators and that's the end of it. They might have one guy doing all of the animations for the entirety of their games from the looks of it.

I think the real issue is that BW just didn't have the balls to tell the fans to suck it up and play a human PC or just pass on the game, they didn't want to take that sales hit after DA2.  So they tried to please fans who wanted different races yet they did a half assed job of it and because of that we've got male elves with boobs and vaginas, broken limbs, and LIs and a PC with magical growth and shrinking spells.

Why do you include the phrase "these days" in there? BW have always had pretty poor QC....
