What about if you own a physical copy?
I probably have the serial key still lying around here somewhere, I reinstalled it on my new pc a while back. I could even take a picture of the box and everything
From what I understand you can put your key into the Origin client and it should recognize it. Give it a try and then we will know.

We've covered physical releases, and I assume this falls under similar circumstances, but it does behoove me to ask, is that also true for PS3 digital versions as well?

Sorry, what is the context for that question? If you mean ME1 detection I've only ever seen it work on PC because the Origin client will write an entitlement. You don't ever log in when playing ME1 so the game itself won't do it like the newer titles.

That totally worked. At least, to get it into my Origins.
I guess it'll take a while before it shows up on here.
Logging in and out worked. Sweet. Now I almost feel tempted to buy DA2.
I guess that was the entire ploy of it all...

We only check every 3 hours so it might take a bit to show up. You could also try logging out of the forum and back in again, I think that will force a recheck. I do see you having it in the backend so it should show up eventually.
It just showed up. Thank you for answering

Unfortunately those legacy games were from before BioWare used EA accounts so there isn't an easy check like we have for Mass Effect and Dragon Age. It could be something we add later but would take a bunch of work. We would have to figure out if we create a database of CD Keys and UPC codes, which would be hard to track down and also to keep updated, or do we just allow people to check a box saying they own it.
With the database work involved it's a bunch of hours maybe better spent elsewhere
A simple check box for the legacy titles could work, would love having an icon for one of my absolute favorite games of all time, Baldur's Gate II ![]()

Barring the copy/paste areas (and a few other things) I really enjoyed DA2, completed it several times. Mark of the Assassin was also a great DLC ![]()

I would also like the option to hide the game icons. A toggle in the profile privacy settings for example.

How about this size instead?

Thats the size of my post count. C'mon man. bahahaha
Anyway, I played a physical copy of ME back in the day on the Xbox 360. Guess that means I'm boned here.

You misinterpreted my request. I don't wish to hide the icons of others, I wish to hide mine from others.

It seems I have the Mass Effect 1 problem, but in reverse. That is : I've got the game in Origin (since several months) but the icon doesn't shows here. Does someone have the same issue ? (I've tried to log/delog from the forum several time)

I'm trying do DL it and lauch it just to check if it will unlock the icon.

More reasons to be mad that my Xbox hard drive self-destructed last year. If only there were a way to check via achievements...

That is odd. Do you know about when you purchased it?

Ah.
Besides, I don't know how Adblock+ would hide the icons from other players. I suppose you'd have to make a custom entry that blocks those icons, yes? Because I use Adblock+ 2.6.8 and all icons show up, obviously.
I herpaderped, disregard.

I purchased it on steam, not too far from the launch date I think.

Which is precisely why I have 'Ye Olde Bioware Icon' as my forum portrait. From back when Kotor was
and "terabyte disk drive" was science fiction.

Same problem, ME1 does not display as owned on BSN, does display in Origin account, added on 16 of June 2011.

Also confirming this worked.
I had a PC disc copy of ME1 I bought after I got addicted to ME2 and ME3 on my PS3 and thought ME1 would never come to us (naturally, after I bought the PC version, ME Trilogy for PS3 was announced LOL). Dug up my disc box, redeemed the code in Origin, logged out and back into BSN, and BOOM. ![]()

Would be nice if connecting to a gamertag would net the connection to 360 Mass Effect.

For PC to get the icon you need to log into origin,go to 'redeem product code'.Then enter the license key they emailed you(or recieved with the disc) when you purchased the game. Then log out and back into the forums.

I don't see the point of a Dragon Age Keep icon since it's not a game and it's required to import data from previous games, but on the other hand, it's not really a problem that it's there... the icons do seem a bit large, but I guess I'll get used to that.
edit: Actually... this DA Keep icon just doesn't make any sense to me. How many people are going to have a DAI icon but not a DA Keep icon as well? There doesn't seem to be any reason for a second DAI icon, which is essentially what the DA Keep icon is. I mean, how many people out there are on this forum and have played DAI, but for some reason avoided the Keep even though an internet connection is practically required for that game? Well, w/e... not a big deal, but it seems very odd.

I own a physical copy of ME, it is a UK EA value copy (not sure if that makes any difference). The key does not seem to work. ![]()
