For those that might have a problem similar to mine. I first added Mass Effect 1 from Steam into Origin back in October 2012 with a little help from the BSN, but with the new forums it never registered my game to my account. So I re-entered my key from Steam today and it now shows two copies of Mass Effect 1 on Origin and I think that is because its an updated version of the game (might be because of the Trilogy) with both DLC and patch 1.02 incorporated and that is what I needed for the forums to detect that I did own Mass Effect 1.

What about if you own a physical copy?
I probably have the serial key still lying around here somewhere, I reinstalled it on my new pc a while back. I could even take a picture of the box and everything
From what I understand you can put your key into the Origin client and it should recognize it. Give it a try and then we will know.

My ME1 icon just appeared even though I never put the code in Origin. I DO have Pinnacle Sation in Origin though (but never hit Play on it) so maybe that's what it recognizes?

*snip*
PPPS.:
GOT IT
Somewhat buggy but I got it working by copying the key from the allready registered version and reentered it as a new key.
Now I got 2 Mass Effect 1s but my badge is there.
Oh thank you! That worked. I have 2 Mass Effect as well now ^^

You can hide double copies, if you want. Just right click on one of them and choose 'hide' (

I own a physical copy of ME, it is a UK EA value copy (not sure if that makes any difference). The key does not seem to work.
Same for me. Quite sad really.
Can you message me your CD Key that isn't working on Origin? If you remember can you also include where you purchased it and what "edition" it is? I will send it off to our contact person to see why it isn't working. If all goes well we will be able to get it added.

Is there any chance that the icons will be reduced in size? ![]()

Well, if a way to get my Xbox 360 physical Mass Effect game history registered exists so I can get that shown as well, lemme know. Bummer thats its not there.
Electronic versions from consoles don't seem to show up, either. I bought the trilogy a few months ago from the playstation store. My PSN ID is linked to my Origin account, but ME & ME3 aren't showing up for me (a PC copy of ME2 is registered in Origin).

No I don't think console versions had keys and also Origin only does PC titles. They did do an "<a data-ipb="nomediaparse" data-cke-saved-href="http://en.wikipedia....List_of_Origin"href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Origin" s_on_the_house_games"="">On the House" promotion for DAO last year so maybe they'll do something similar for Mass Effect some day and you can grab it then.
Two quick thoughts. One: Is there any way to register the trilogy edition for 360 and unlock the badge? (For those that have it.)
Second: Would it be possible to write a (relatively) simple script to check the Xbox profile attached to our Origin account and award the badge to those who have an achievement unlocked for it? Something of a half way option between just adding a check box for it or having to create a new database with all of the original UPC codes.

The way it was before* was something like:
The current badges aren't that different.
Spoiler*On the old BSN forums
The way it was before, I could see someone's gamertag by hovering on the badge, now I can't. That is a significant decrease in functionality, and what I'm criticizing.

I think people's eyes are just getting used to it.
If there's any criticism I have its that they understate the Bioware employees' tag. Especially on the dark theme(I don't look at the bright white blinding one).

Yes, you're right. I didn't notice Jesse was a BioWare employee until the thread itself got that big red button "show only BioWare posts"...

Unfortunately those legacy games were from before BioWare used EA accounts so there isn't an easy check like we have for Mass Effect and Dragon Age. It could be something we add later but would take a bunch of work. We would have to figure out if we create a database of CD Keys and UPC codes, which would be hard to track down and also to keep updated, or do we just allow people to check a box saying they own it.
I'm not sure if this will be any help, but I figured I should share since I sent all afternoon digging around looking for it. I distinctly remember registering my copy of Mass Effect, way back in the day. After much digging around, I was even able to find the original page describing the benefits of registering and a link to register, although the link now redirects to the Bioware homepage. Additionally, according to this blog post and as shown in this old thread (see the links to KOTOR, Jade Empire, and Mass Effect under the profile name), at least most of the older Bioware games were able to be registered.
Therefore, as long as the data for the old site was not destroyed, there should be existing databases of CD Keys and UPC Codes for most, if not all, of Bioware's older games. Additionally, if these databases can be found, it would be a rather simple process, I believe, to run a check of email addresses of current accounts against the registered games and associate the badge to it, if found.
Granted this method is not a cure-all, since these databases, if still existing, would be at least two to five years out of date and many people have changed their email accounts since then and it would not include anyone who bought old games from another source, such as Steam or GOG. Additionally, new badges would have to be created for all of the legacy games, before they could be awarded.
In short, it wouldn't be as easy, but if someone could find the old databases, you wouldn't have to start from scratch.

So i take it the ME1 emblem is not attainable if you have ME1 360 version.

The icons are a great addition to the forums, probably my ME icons showed up because I bought the ME trilogy on an origin offer in december.
