I just noticed all the game badges. How long have they been there?

My Mass Effect isn't showing up. Do I PM Descy__?

This thread might help

Controller in hand is arguably the most comfortable form of gaming. It's the root of most gamers today.

You can add a controller to your PC.  In fact, the xbox controller has a USB plug.

Yes, it's Terry Bogard, and I could see how you could be distracted by that picture :P And while you may have a preference, I enjoy All FlavorsTM.

O I never said that was my preference, im just saying it was obviously his.  I'm just following his lead.  :)

ME3mp for PC has no gamepad support. No gamepad, no deal. Ever.

I've never been a big fan of laptop gaming.  I need a full tower to run games smoothly.

That I never tried.  Thanks for clarifying.

I mostly post here from my phone or tablet but as for pc or console I prefer console coz I can just lazily lie on my couch and just relax while playing. I've played a lot both on PC and console though my multiplayer experience has mostly been on console and I prefer playing with the controller even for fps games. It's also much easier to talk to people on console as someone else said. Oh and I get to play on a big ass Tv too. Maybe I'm just too lazy but overall I just find consoles to be easier and more fun!

Because they're garbage people who don't realize keyboard+mouse > controller, manifest can be re-maxed in hours, and lolframes. It's sad really but what're you gonna do.

can only be maxed that fast if I hack to get them, also keyboard is slower movement than controller

Depends wholly on the game. RPGs like TES, ME and any kind of MMO benefit greatly from mouse-and-keyboard setups for casting and loadout purposes. RTS games are almost unplayable on a console.

Third person adventure games, platformers and FPS don't need the kind of control complexity and often aren't made with super-high performance or modding in mind, so they work better on console.

morrowind sure on pc but oblivion, and skyrim work great with the controller

When I PC gamed it was an endless pain in the ass.  It's not worth it to me and I'd rather console game.  I will not be going back to PC gaming.

Yeah I've always found controllers to be better for rpgs like dark souls having played with both mouse/keyboard and the controller. The controller somehow feels more fluid and easy to use.

Couldn't decide whether to answer seriously or not, but as my serious answer regarding porn has been covered, here's the other reasons.

For a couple of years I have had my Irish buddy staying in my spare room where my desktop was located. Me and my desktop only now get together when I go visit my parents. This is until the end of this month when she goes back to the motherland and I'll become whole again.

Having said that I generally prefer gaming on my PS3 because I get to game in the lounge on a 55 inch screen.

I don't own mass effect for console, and I don't use any of the online feature on it, so my question may be stupid.  I'm just curious as to why you continue to play on console since you apparently have a PC to post on the forums on.  Why not just buy the PC version for $10?

Or do you all have keyboards attached to the console and use some in-game function?

My only computers are a MacBook Pro and an aging Toshiba Satellite laptop. That should tell you how often I game on a PC.

I used to game on PC in the early days, but prefer the consoles now.

Serious answer: because I like gaming while sitting on the sofa in the living room, using the very nice home theatre setup I have (especially the surround sound).

I do have the game on my PC, because I was trying desperately to find a way to use it in the living room, but there's no feasible way to use a keyboard/mouse while sitting comfortably, and no controller on PC actually worked well enough for me to actually play. I still use the PC version for screencaps and video, if possible.

So for me it's the overall experience. I miss out on super-high-resolution (which I'm sad about) and on the whole keyboard/mouse thing (which I could not care less), but I gain a lot more.

Other reasons people might not be playing on PC (other than already having the console version) might include people using laptops that suck for gaming, or don't have a powerful enough PC, or have a Mac (I'm typing this on a mac, for example) or use mobile devices to access the forums.

Hey, I was technically correct - the best kind of correct.

That is, technically speaking, correct ;)

Your answer reflects much of what mine would be, if I could be assed to type it out yet again (protip: I can't, especially since you did it for  me). The experience is different, both have advantages and disadvantages that may weigh differently with different people.

Surprisingly few people on the forum have played multiple platforms BTW. Which means there is a lot of talking out the rear end that goes on. Vide(te) this thread.

I have ME3 (and have played it) on the WiiU and the Xbox hooked up to the large screen in the salon, the Xbox hooked up to the medium screen in the game room, my Windows 10TP desktop, my half-decent laptop, and a somewhat creaky old laptop because I wanted to see what would run ME3 at base settings. The experience on each is different.

It could generally be summed up, though like this: Consoles are cheap, convenient, comfortable, voice chat is easy, and you spend most of your time playing; PCs can be more powerful, easier to do stuff like record video, more expensive, and you spend half your time updating hardware, drivers, fighting Origin, rebooting, and generally cursing. KB+M is more likely to give you RSI than a modern gamepad too.

The only thing that puzzles me is why it puzzles anyone that someone else would make a rational choice that is different from theirs.
