I'm really surprised that the Keep doesn't let us state if he's alive or dead. He's alive in my worldstate, and I would love to see him return.

I believe it is possible for him to end up dead even if you ally with the elves. Although I suppose it is possible that the Keep recognizes that as not allying with the elves (never tried so I wouldn't know).I think it's tied in with whether you agreed with the elves in the temple or not?

It seems like they might as well add this decision into the Keep, I mean they have a tile for closing the rift under Crestwood Lake and claiming Caer Bronach, which if I'm not mistaken, are both required for the main story, meaning they are guaranteed to have been completed and not really choices at all.
