[Angel of the Qun]

I have a rather odd question to ask.  So sometimes I like to do what I call "non-canon" playthroughs.  These are basically when I play a game but the choices I make and the things I do are essentially an "alternate reality" playthrough.  It's slightly different from having alts (at least to me), in that I consider all my regular characters to have canon playthroughs, but these characters don't.  That's probably really confusing, but my point was that I was planning to do one of these, but with a Dwarf Inquisitor who was a sleeper agent for the Qunari, essentially weakening Thedas for a Qunari invasion.  Now, before you start yelling that this makes no sense, hear me out here.

  • His name will probably be the default name (can't think of it atm)
  • He'll be a warrior templar so she can dispel magic and fight mages, because that's what Qunari do.
  • He was born on the surface to a poor family in Tevinter, so the Qunari bought him from the family and raised him as one of their own.
  • They inserted him as a sleeper agent for the Carta, wiping his memories of the Qun but giving him certain commands to follow
  • Went to the Conclave as part of his orders and convinced Carta members to come along
  • He had no clue he would become Inquisitor but found a way to use it to the Qunari advantage
  • Story Plans: Disbanding Templars to weaken the Chantry's fighting power, Let Hawke die and Loghain leads the Wardens to rebellion after they are exiled to Weisshaupt (so that they can't help defend Southern Thedas from a Qunari invasion but are still able to rebuild themselves anew before another Blight begins), let Celene die and let Briala control Gaspard with very low court approval, and drinking from the well of sorrows himself.  He will also have Leliana as Divine without doing her personal quest so the Chantry fall apart.
  • He plans to romance the Iron Bull and let the chargers die.

I think those are all the important choices in the game.  Is this a viable idea?  If you have any ideas or thoughts on this, please let me know.

I would put Briala on the Imperial Throne,and would make sure I have low court approval while doing this.

Also,who do you plan to pick as Divine? My personal suggestions are the following:

-low approval Vivienne

-Normal Leliana (don't complete her personal quest)

That way,the Chantry becomes fractured,and the nobles of Orlais start planning a rebellion.

It should be noted that Divine Vivienne reinstates the Templar Order,however,and firmly leashes it to her hand. Divine Leliana,on the other hand,disbands it no matter what. If you pick the mages,they basically try to revolt again if Vivienne is Divine,but she basically destroys them. If Leliana is Divine,they gain a lot of respect from Thedas no matter what. You should avoid getting Cassandra on the Sunburst throne,because she basically reinstates the templar order and manages to keep the Chantry together one way or another. 

If you haven't got a problem with the Inquisition being strong,I'd recommend having Leliana as Divine,and then disband the templar order. Oh,and tell Cassandra that the Seekers aren't worth saving in her personal quest. If you do this,the most crucial part is that you don't complete Leliana's personal quest.

 

Also,I'm not sure that the Iron Bull can be romanced if you let the Chargers die. Might be wrong about this,though...

And you can definitely romance Bull and let the Chargers die. But I'm too much of a weenie to ever do that.

But that's why it's brilliant... because with a memory wipe, this spy would be completely unaware that they are being manchurian agented by the Qunari, so they do do all that stuff thinking it's their idea, when in reality they are actually following a bunch of preprogrammed "Would you kindly?" directives?!

 

It's part of the reason why Ben-hassrath training and bard training is kind of daft when you really look at it, since we repeatedly are shown that they are immediately able to identify other bards and/or spies, in part because they notice that the other person has been trained to mask their expressions to be unreadable, which is just one giant neon arrow pointing to them?

 

However, if you decided to mindscrew someone to be a regular Joe Bloggs... (who is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life)... they'd be somewhat undetectable because they'd have none of those kinds of tells and would be acting "normally" until the moment they carry out those conditioned plans?!

Oh dang, forgot about the Divine choice

I will probably make Leliana Divine without doing here personal quest, so that the Chantry falls apart the Thedosian people are lost without their faith.  That would be a perfect opportunity for the Inquisitor to give the go-ahead for a Qunari invasion.  It's going to happen sooner or later anyway. I also think it would be a good idea for Briala to play puppet with Gaspard while the other nobles plot to rebel.  That will be an easy way to get Orlais out of the way.
