It's staff of Violation which you get from Calpernia in Temple of Mythal in Arbour Wilds. You need to to go to Terefault Redoubt and side side with the Templars though.

It isn't the same staff model. Not even close.

I assumed we would when he said 'take this'. But apparently that meant his memories and the armor?

It didn't disintegrate. It was just quantized into the Forever Bag that is our inventory.

Infinitely better than the Witcher 3 animation of an NPC handing something to Geralt that couldn't be bigger than a walnut, and it turns out to be something gigantic, like all his weapons. Then he shoves it in his back pocket.
No wonder Geralt always looks so uncomfortable when he sits down

Just like Bioware's classic "shake hands/pass someone any given item just below camera level"
On bad angles (like shaking hands with Cassandra near the beginning) you can actually tell that your hands don't even grip each other.
When Dagna gave me that rune to deal with Samson's armour, I was practically in shock the whole scene because the Inquisitor actually handled the rune! Held it!
It's so odd to see that actually happen in a Bioware game. Sort of like how there was actually a physical volus plushie in Citadel.
Laughably amusing, but also frustrating. They really need to improve their animations for ME:A/DA4...

Can someone post a pic of the staff? It's been forever since I played JoH.

^ Thanks to both.
I've been wondering if I could mod that appearance onto something, but of course that would be PC only... It's a really fun staff model and it's a shame it's not available for the player to use.
