Just played through a match on routine all the way through, no exiting early. Got zero exp. That's a first.

Weird, i feel your pain. Didn't have that happen to me before.

happened to me once:

first time I ever played the Katari - was Level 1, after the match (successful), there was negative XP that added up to 0 - after that I was Level 0

 

but after the next match I leveled up normally

I played a match a couple days ago where we beat zone 5 and the loading screen came up but instead of loading to the score screen it loads to the font room in zone 3 of the level we just played. We end up wiping in zone 4 I think and when we got to the score screen there it was evident that we didn't get the exp from the completed round.
