Hey guys, was just wondering if anyone could help illuminate me on a point related to the Sabrae clan. Is it ever stated (either in Origins or DAII) that they ended up fighting the darkspawn as part of the Hero of Ferelden's coalition? I know Merrill mentions how she's fought darkspawn before in DAII, but I wasn't certain if that was in the context of the Dalish Origin, minor skirmishes on their way to the Free Marches, or with the more organized Dalish efforts brought about by the Warden treaties. If anyone has any insights, I'd love to hear them; I'm doing some research for my Origins novelization, and want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row, you know? Thanks.

You can talk to a messenger who's headed out to find the Warden's clan in Zathrian's Camp if you revisit it, but I don't believe Sabrae Clan ever makes it to the fight. Ashalle says they only heard about your victory, they didn't witness it.
Mind you, it's possible they sent a few hunters in time or something.

You can talk to a messenger who's headed out to find the Warden's clan in Zathrian's Camp if you revisit it, but I don't believe Sabrae Clan ever makes it to the fight. Ashalle says they only heard about your victory, they didn't witness it.
Mind you, it's possible they sent a few hunters in time or something.
Ahh, thanks for the clarification, Snook. I thought I remembered something like that, but I wasn't sure. I just want to make sure that the idea I have in mind doesn't totally contradict the lore/dump all over the Dalish as is common in Inquisition.

This. As far as I could tell Merrill's clan was already gone (Marethari mentions they will be evacuating immediately after Duncan takes the Mahariel to Ostagar). I always assumed when Merrill says she fought some darkspawn, it was during the search for Tamlen (which happens whether the warden is a Dalish elf or not). She also points out that she is a novice at fighting as well, which would tend to back up that assumption. If she were more experienced she may have said "I fought them during the siege on Denerim".
