I was a little let down by not seeing any mention of Sandal or Bodhan. They were supposedly heading off to the court in Orlais, but they aren't mentioned in the game nor in The Masked Empire. I'd love to see Sandal again. Bodhan is likely dead (he was not a young man,) but I'd like to go visit a grave or a memorial to him. He didn't fight darkspawn or blood mages, but both NPCs are heroes as far as I'm concerned. Between the store and runes in Origins, and the runes in DA2, they deserve better than that.
Besides, it doesn't quite feel like a Dragon Age game without hearing "ENCHANTMENT!" at least once.

Well, at the end of DA2, he mentioned that he was getting on in years, and wanted someone to look after Sandal. He stated that, since the Empress found Sandal's enchanting fascinating and useful, that they were going to be heading out there. That was about 5 or so years before the start of Inquisition (I think DA2's main story ends in 9:36, with the interrogation happening in 9:37) Orlais is a giant mess, and there is danger everywhere. Assassins are more openly used than ever, even in Celene's court at the start of Asunder. The civil war, the mage/templar war, and all kinds of other crap. He very likely could be dead, but I wouldn't bet any money on it.
I doubt that BioWare is callous enough to kill off Bodhan off-screen, but I also wouldn't be surprised. If he is alive, then dang it, he deserves an appearance or at least a mention.

Who knows maybe we get a DLC that expands on Orlais (they really should before we go North) and we'll see Sandal and Bodhan
They gave Harding more screentime in Jaws of Hakkon, so it's possible

Oh that would be awesome and very welcome. I don't think I'm the only player that wants to see the main palace of Orlais. ![]()

Ah, I didn't know that. Well then, I look forward to playing it in a couple of weeks.

I also wanna return to Denerim and hope King Alistair/Queen Anora or both gets more screentime than that 3 minute cameo ![]()

Yea Imo the DLC wasn't as bad as people made it out to be

I've actually read some good spoiler-free reviews of it. You've seen my posts as to why I'm holding off for a bit. ![]()
How about King Alistair and/or Queen Anora even showing up on-screen if you side with the Templars? That would be welcome for sure.

I consider Bodhan and Sandal more worthy of a quick mention than Oghren at this point. That being said, I think the player should know what happened to the Wardens of Awakening: Nate, Sigrun and Oghren. The devs will probably address Bodhan and Sandal first, since that would take less time to make a proper cameo. Oghren fans would likely not be pleased with a "blink and you miss it" appearance. Still, given that it's very likely that we'll end up in the Deep Roads for a DLC, he could come back then.
@Roly: I'm replaying the series now and to the best of my knowledge, Wong is in one game (ME1.) Kal Reegar was also barely mentioned outside of a few appearances in ME2. Bodhan and Sandal were in two of the main DA games, as rather vital roles as shopkeep and runecrafter. That's a tad different. ![]()

In my opinion, with all the things it blatantly lacks from the previous two games, Inquisition does not feel like a Dragon Age game. Bodahn and Sandal being among those lacked features.
Also, Bodahn is basically middle-aged (by Inquisition, probably roughly in his late 50's/early 60's? Not old at all). I'd say he's worried about Sandal because if Bodahn gets much older, he'll have a hard time taking care of his son. There's really no way he could have died of old age yet. Sure, there are the wars going on that could prove dangerous, but they're both hardy people and have survived worse. Plus these two are arguably more special/important than Emily Wong and Reegar ever were, so I doubt Bioware would just kill Bodahn off (offscreen) or anything.
Furthermore, did we ever learn what happened to Bodahn's wife, who was only mentioned once in DAO? If anything?

It is a different feeling game and it could be because of Sandal. I like seeing players across games but then again seeing "Zevran" was like WTF-F-F did they to do his face?

I agree I was really disappointed that after Bodahn stating he and Sandal were going to Orlais, as well as Sandal' s prophecy that we didn't get to see them. Dagna is ok I guess but I would have much rather see Sandal at Skyhold or perhaps with a stall in Val Royeaux.
Also agree with another poster, I really liked Ogren and Shale they both had a great sense of humour, would be nice to see them again too.

Oh, I didn't expect to see Oghren in DA:I, I just thought he'd get a mention via a found letter or a war table mission, since they brought him back for Awakenings. But I guess he wasn't mentioned in DA2 either (that I recall). Christ, even Worthy was in DA:I.

Agreed. Very surprised and confused why he was not in the game.

The only thing Sandal got in Inquisition was a vague mention (by Dagna, and I believe someone else IIRC), and his name wasn't even used. No respect from Bioware whatsoever so far. :/
