Fish stinks. Especially when the bastard has been suntanning for a while. We used to hang them outside the house to dry them. The stench filled the whole house and it was vile. And that prepared fish. Fields of unprepared, rotting fish sounds absolutely disgusting.

Seriously, why would she be so bothered about something that smells bad? She hangs out with Blackwall a lot and he sleeps in the stables, which would make him smell like ****. In fact, didn't she used to live in the slums of Denerim? Wouldn't that have made her used to bad smell? Heck, considering how little Sera cares for the way she looks, wouldn't that mean she doesn't take baths? Why complain about the stench of fish when most of the party probably has to put up with HER stench?!

Brief story: Used to work in a pet shop. We got a shipment of koi, but all were DOA. The smell that came out of the container was as if Death decided to have a drunk orgy with a sushi bar in the subway. Stagnant water alone smells terrible. Mix that with rotting fish carcass and it's like a mosh pit on your olfactory glands.

Can't be any worse than the smell of dead bodies which is something the party runs into and creates all too often. At least you could put up with dead fish cause you know its something you've eaten before.

As a man who has worked both with dead things and horses (the two, oddly enough, having never actually mixed into each other.    ) I would like to take this moment to agree with Kaiser in that the smell of a well kept stable is rather clean, maybe warm and a bit musty (dusty too if you're more inland), but a pile of assorted rotted THINGS is worthy of a gas mask and a long handled shovel.

Dead anything smell is nothing when you've encountered said dead things rotting on top of or even INSIDE one another (that one was an adventure.)...

 

...and I still don't get the joke.

I get the pun which is ironic for her however it didn't really seem like they were trying to use that dialogue as an innuendo. She could've said something better if it were the case. I think from that dialogue she just doesn't like the smell of fish no pun intended. Plus, I'm not sure if she's clever enough to use puns or any tyupe of innuendo. She barely makes sense half the time.

That was during the quest wher you meet Charade, specifically when the trail has led you to a fishery in the docks.
