When you sell a game on multiple platforms there's nothing wrong with releasing future DLC to only some of those people who own specific platforms. The rest can either buy a new platform or be out of luck. It doesn't matter that they bought a copy of the same game as the ones with the "chosen platform" make them buy a whole new system and a new copy of the game. Just think of all the extra copies of DA:I you would sell.

It has to do with EA working closely with Microsoft these days. Xbox One wins when it comes to EA titles.

It's not immoral.

People should have been complaining since E3 when Microsoft said they had first dibs

Sony did the same thing with Destiny, they got content months before Xbox Owners. A lot of countries get movies and shows before others. Its hardly a new thing and its not going anywhere any time soon. I for one welcome the exclusivity, it adds to a healthy competitive market.

Funny, OP.

I can think of many things in life that are immoral.

This would be a long way down that list...

I would never have bought DA:I had I known about BioWare's immorality towards their customers.

I feel cheated, robbed and backstabbed. They should have been upfront about the DLC before I paid. Not everyone watched E3 and not everyone should be expected to. They should have had some warning notice or something telling me that even though I paid the same amount my copy of the game would not have full access to the game. It's BIOWARE'S RESPONSIBILITY to do that NOT microsoft or the customers.

It's not very consumer friendly, sure. Cheap marketing gimmick, yes.

But I wouldn't call making PS and X360 users wait an extra month or so immoral. Just annoying.

I don't see what's so immoral about it... it's not even a new thing or exclusive to EA/Bioware.  Bethesda and Microsoft have had a similar agreement for years, which effected the Elder Scrolls titles as well as Fallout.  Maybe the OP is just poorly worded due to frustration, but this isn't anywhere near an "immoral" action.

And really, the bottom line is you have to wait one month to play the DLC... what's the big deal?  They aren't depriving you of the ability to purchase the DLC outright (that still wouldn't be immoral, or "bait and switch," since DLC was never promised to you or anyone else when we purchased the game).

That's entirely your own fault, this deal has been known for quite a while. Like a year or something.

Ultimately, it will cost them sales. A big chunk of their PS/XB360 players feel alienated (never a good marketing strategy) and many of the rest will be discouraged by the reviews and opt not to buy. Considering the PS market share, that may not have been their best decision ever.

I'm guessing the OP just learned the word "immoral" and wanted to use it.

Yeah that or, Microsoft gave them so much money for exclusivity that it doesn't really matter they miss out on DLC sales on other systems.

Of which the latter I highly doubt. Most of them will just rage and buy it anyway once it's available to them. You know, like all those people who would never buy a Bioware product again after ME3, who I now see populating the DA:I forums, with DA:I icons flashing under their names.

You do have full access to the game you paid for.

If you feel cheated, robbed and backstabbed by this then I hope nothing else mildly annoying happens to you in life... ;)

Let me sell you 90% of a book or movie. The other 10% I will sell to only select people "neighbor or mailman" for a undisclosed amout of time. "hope they don't spoil it for you." WHAT? your mad because you paid full price and you feel entitled to the rest of the book/movie like everyone else? "Too bad you should have watched E3 they would have told ya"

Pretty much this. It's annoying as all get out, but as a 360 user I'd rather have some things first - like a properly functional game.

This has nothing to do with timed exclusive DLC.

You paid for the full game and got the full game, the dlc was made afterwards and you would have to pay extra for it if and when it came out. Since its not a part of the full game but rather and an add-on there is no real obligation to make sure already gets it equally, nope. Its extra stuff and each console and company handles dlc differently since exclusivity is only a timed thing than the "morals" of the matter are a moot point. Its like paying for a movie and complaining that the movie goers in the next town over got the choice to buy hats with movie's name on it and you didn't.

It's not going away any time soon, so you can either accept it, or continue to be upset about it. The amount of energy you expend is up to you. :)

Come on now even though they don't admit it, its pretty obvious that this content was cut from the game and not made after.

Its fine to have exclusive games and exclusive content bundled with games. Timed exclusives of FULL games are also fine. BUT when you sell a game on multiple platforms its reasonable to assume that any and ALL DLC would be released at the same TIME and on the same platforms as the game was. Its immoral to only release content to a select group of people when everyone paid for the full game and everyone should be treated equal. This is actually a form of "bait and switch" and if this was any other industry it would probably be illegal.

I don't even get what they are trying to achieve with these timed exclusives? Do they REALLY think people are going to run out and buy an XBOX ONE and a new copy of the game because they have to wait for the DLC to come out on their PS4 for a game they already own?

[edit]

And to the people being so jerkish to the OP's frustrations - shame on you! Next time you are going to express frustration about something and people are going to treat you the same way.

Exclusivity deals are for people who don't have the game, not people who already own it.

Come on now even though you don't admit, you're pretty much belly aching over a small superfluous thing and would probably end up buying it when it comes out on your console when its available anyway
