Why write so much dialogue for her? Sera's dialogue mostly consists of her being scared of anything magic-related (which we already know), justifying her fears (which we already know), her resentment of cultural rejection (which we already know) and her insensitivity towards other people's religions (which we already know!).

Why was Solas and Cole not given enough banter dialogue? Considering how much Spirits are heavily integrated into Avvar culture, it would have been a lot more interesting to hear what those two had to say about the entire situation than to hear from Sera.

It's good to see more good news about this DLC.

One more reason not to buy it.  Not that I needed one, ofc... xD

I had planned on bringing Cassandra, Dorian and Sera, so I'm glad that there's a good amount for both.

That is unfortunate.   I can imagine they figured Solas banter might have been a waste since a lot of people will probably play it post-finale.

I have done my 'obligatory' Sera play through already though... and can't imagine I will spend much time with her in the future.

With Cole and Solas you do get good dialogue IMO especially Cole saying "Hello" to spirits & the bear. Iron Bull has good dialogue due to amount of spirits/demons content in the DLC.

Sera dialogue was enjoyable just like always, she one best companions to bring out with you IMO.

Ah, thanks for showing the upload. I had made this post shortly after watching DanaDuchy's full party banter video for the DLC.

Now see, Sera started seeing similarities between the guy whose about to lose his father's name with her own predicament with being looked down by the Dalish. Its not really the same though cause unlike the Dalish who are quick to give the cold shoulder treatment, the Avvar man's tribe members (or at least the Huntsman) actually did NOT want him to lose his father's name so they went to the trouble to exploit their clan's loopholes to allow the Inquisitor to provide a way for him to pass his trials seeing as how he's injured and cannot pass the trials in his state.

Sera has always been the chattiest of my companions, even in the vanilla game.  It's like she's th eone hit by the banter bug least.

Hmm, I haven't had a single interparty banter. Only one-liner comments, and very few of those(Cassandra, Solas, Varric). But that might be because my regular banters weren't exhausted, as I went to the DLC area straight after arriving to Skyhold.

That's why you don't keep fools in your party, who are waging a losing war against logic.

Solas' lack of banter makes sense, since it's quite possible that you'd be doing the DLC after the main game, so you'd miss out on your trusty wolf ....

I think it's more likely the City Elves told Sera she wasn't being elfy enough after she got adopted by a human woman and lived outside the Alienage.

I got a very good amount of banter from Cole. Don't know how you missed out.

Ahh well not a deal for me since i gave her the boot the moment i see her. She is just a waste of oxygen. My usual party is my dalish knight enchanter, dorian or solas, Cassandra and Varric.

That reminds me, during my Hakkon livestreams I did get a running conversation between Sera/Cassandra. Had no relation to the DLC though.

I thought Sera talking a lot more than Cole was canon.

Oooh might have to take sera along with me next time, i took cass, blackwall and viv. Viv explained quite a few magical things but that was about it, blackwall seemed to be having a running catfight with cass. Cass was a good choice i think, the past-seeker to current-seeker convo was great.

Bring Browall & Solas, she will "analyze" the Fade.

Sera is the John / Rose of Sharon Cassidy of Dragon Age, that's why she always tags along.

I think it's more likely the City Elves told Sera she wasn't being elfy enough after she got adopted by a human woman and lived outside the Alienage.

Either way, it couldn't be too similar to what Finn's going through seeing as how some of the clan members are willing to exploit loopholes in their laws to help out another. Even the Thane of the clan often uses loopholes for the benefit of the clan.

Furthermore, Sera's comment about how she has the right to be scared of demons because she never received "special" training like Vivienna and other mages was rather infuriating and retreads the tired out "I'm poor and oppressed so I suffered more" defence that Sera constantly uses. Most mages who go through the Harrowing end up horribly traumatized and potentially even more terrified of demons than before. Its one thing to imagine what a demon could do, its another thing to actually know what a demon is capable of.

The there's her reluctance to accept Sigrud into the Inquisition. Now, Varric's worries actually carry weight as he's seen what a mage fused with a spirit could do and even then, it never made him so horribly prejudiced. Coming from Sera though, its more shallow as it just comes down to her not liking someone because their strange and she can't understand them. Again, retreading her usual fear and hatred of anything magical.

I imagine that Sera would be one of those kids who if she were to hear that one kid in her neighbourhood is a mage, she'd join together with other kids to throw rocks at the mage kid while yelling "Freak!" or "Monster" repeatedly.

I brought her once, and had a funny banter about the veil, then started to be insulting towards spirits, and since I love her but I love spirits more, I booted her out of the party. Problem solved.

Opinions, everyone has them. Some will agree, some won't. I actually think Sera has the funniest banter in the game, and I wouldn't leave her behind on any mission. 194298.gif
