Repeating the worst challenge. Ugh. And another one best done by soloing, no less. Thanks for wasting the challenge on a weekend that we don't have the kids and could actually have done a reasonable one.

If I remember right, this is basically 5 solos with a Keeper.

 

Not that I can do it at the moment, since I logged in to be reminded that there is a giant 2 GB update that has to be downloaded. Although it seems to be barreling through quite quickly, so maybe it will only be a couple of minutes delay.

I love it how they said "We heard loud and clear that you want team challenges" or something along those lines and now have brought back the exact same challenge that got everyone complaining in the first place.

 

In other news.... They probably won't release the MP DLC till PlayStation gets the Hakkon DLC after the 30 day exclusivity is over.

I haven't heard of anything like that before. If he's talking about Skywatcher, then he's forgetting that Skywatcher is the Avvar that you meet in the Fallow Mire in the main game. Yes, there are Avvar in the DLC, but Skywatcher is not one of them.

Lol so basically we are 30 days out from the new DLC with new classes, dragon raids, and hopefully new items. 30 days of Microsoft/EA backscratch buddy exclusivity.


I almost have less faith in these big company executives than I have in Congress. ALMOST.

Its painfully obvious which video game companies are run by people who have never played a video game in their life, and the companies run by actual gamers.

Can't even blame Bioware on this one. Well, other than becoming EA subsidiary #14.


Edit: would have been nice if someone warned us though, before the hype train left the station. Gonna be a lot of whiny babies on the forum for the next few weeks. Especially when they learn it's gonna be at least 30 days before the MP DLC.

I'm interested to see how the MP DLC interfaces with Jaws of Hakkon. If I don't buy the new single player expansion, will I even be able to use the new MP DLC?!?

Can't play Bloodborne because Xbox but Resident Evil Revelations 2 Raid Mode is already more fun than DAMP even with the online co-op not available yet. And with Neverwinter and Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin coming out in the next week this rumored DLC was the only way BioWare could have got me to stick around.

Nah, just put 2 and 2 together from the leaks and one of the classes being Hakkon cultist would breach their exclusivity deal if it were released any earlier than when the deal expires... Usually 30 days for DLC.

 

Or they are saving their marketing budget to advertise both the SP and MP DLC in one swoop.

Not sure what you mean. The only classes to have assets added in the last patch have nothing to do with the Hakkon DLC. As previous poster stated, Avvar Skywatchers are referenced in the base game, you meet one in the Fallow Mire. Isabela was a party-member from DA2 and her general character concept of pirate captain/ duelist has been present since DA:O. Ditto with Bards and Dragons. So there is no necessarily Hakkon-linked content in what was hidden in the patch, that we know of so far. It's a shame they did not announce the DLC today, but that does not mean that it's release is directly tied to the end of the Xbox One/ PC Exclusivity.

From my understanding, Bioware just drops DLC onto unsuspecting players with little to no warning.  I guess it's how they've been doing it for years?  That's fine.  However, might I suggest that maybe a change is in order?  Giving us a teaser to the new dlc and giving the playerbase something to look forward to?  Not asking for exact release dates, just ballpark it.  "Hey, we're looking to have new DLC by like early April-ish, keep your eyes peeled."  Something like that would go a long way. 

 

Saying you can't talk about DLC hurts more than helps you.  Without any new information, players don't see any new stuff on the horizon and as much fun as the game has been, you can only do so much with the current content before it grows a little stale.  Not to mention the release of other games that begin to pull your attention away from DAMP(Such is my case.)

 

I'm disappointed for sure, but when the new multiplayer DLC does eventually come out I'll be back in force.  I just think this tight-lipped policy on new content hurts you more than helps you Bioware.

Microsoft OS costs money and due to stuff that's happened most games require Microsoft OS to run, effectively making PC gamers pay money to Microsoft just for gaming.

Well, now, this is new, isn't it? Weren't all previous "new-gen" goals the same for these challenges? XBox One, PS4, and PC had the higher while PS3 and XBox 360 had the lower.

 

Now it sounds like they're adjusting them for each individual platform?

 

Unless my HQ is completely messed up...

Silver lining about today's Twitch stream...  A:  I don't have to schedule any future lunch breaks to watch it.  B:  Pretty sure now DLC will always drop on a Tuesday, so I can just complete the challenge solo by looking it up on HQ/in game and then enjoy other things in life.

 

I'm glad it's there for those people who like the community around it, but it's not my cup of tea.
