This list is for characters which are potentially still alive in Thedas but who won't make it into any future game due to the tiles which are available in the Keep.

Sadly, this list contains:

- Brother Genitivi
- Sigrun
- Velanna
- Oghren
- Alexius

Edit:

- Ser Cauthrien

- Caladrius

Other characters we also liked but who had only minor roles in the past stories:

- Crestwood's Mayor

- Berwick

- The unnamed Blood Mage the Warden spared in the Circle Tower

- Renvil Harrowmont

I would also list anyone we could judge in Inquisition here (like Crestwood's Mayor) but they probably have a too slim role. I'd still like to see what happens to them at a later point (like the Mayor becoming a Warden), but that's not going to happen as the judging choice in the Keep is very limited.

Some of the characters above even were former companions. Sigrun especially was one I really liked.

Do you know of any more characters that will never return (and are possibly still alive)?

All of the characters you guys named at least still have a chance, even though their return is more or less unlikely. The ones I mentioned are purely characters that have 0% chance of returning due to Keep tile choices they made.

Probably Merrill :crying: (unless there is a DLC about Hawke going to see the First Warden), and dog (he probably died of old age).

Bartrand: Possibly still alive, but barely sane, being taken care of in an asylum.

Nathaniel: Who if alive and a Warden, disappeared along with the rest of the Wardens of Ferelden.

Sigrun and Velanna. I'm also interested in what happened to Nathaniel Howe after Dragon Age 2 :/ he's one of my favorite characters!

I'm in a minority that kind of likes Velanna. I was able to get her quest to trigger in Awakening, and like Miranda... you're able to thaw out the ice wall :P She softens quite a bit, but is still quite snarky. She definitely grew on me enough to be interested in what happened to her afterwards.

At least my Warden has her bestie Sigrun to keep her company in Forever Offscreen Land.

I'm confused why Oghren is on this list.

I have a feeling we'll never see Zevran again, which makes me a little sad, but there's no Keep-related reason for me to feel that way.

They could add tiles if they wanted to

But they still don't despite the number of people requesting final fate of Awakening companions tiles, and many other in the Keep.

Why, BioWare...just why?!  :(

The Inquisitor opened a rift from inside Corypheus...destroying him into pieces back into the void.

No more Corypheus please.

No more Corypheus please.

And No more Architect please, for the player who kill him in Awakening. I understand why some people wanted to see him again, but for the player who already killed him, his plot can be continue with the remnant of his dispicles, and our decision shouldn't get retcon or erased. Beside the idea of having every ancient Tevinter Magisters who breach the Black City and turned darkspawn share the same body hopping ability as Cory is redundant and uncreative, and the thought of killing them again and again and again is crazy.

No, he's definitely dead. If he weren't dead, that would mean he can't be killed, period, and that's a very dangerous place for a narrative to go. We might as well concede defeat and start worshipping Lord Corypheus.

If it makes you feel any better I'm sure Gaspard is on this list too.

We will never run into the true emperor again.

I'm reminded of the first time I told his marshal they had actually won and how odd it seemed to him, that this game of blood, intrigue and shadow had finally been won.

o.o perhaps he will pop up off screen in future installments at best.

I think all can return. The Keep choices don't seem complete to me. And it could aalso be that some of the choices will automatically set character alive. The Choice to Save the Keep and Amaranthine can easily auto set that Velenna Sigrun survive. Putting Oghren and Felsi together was a choice as well.

We probably won't see any of the three TME players again, true.

You'll miss your Gaspard and I'll miss my Briala.

Though, tbh, I already went through that mourning period. In the game, I have a hard time seeing any of them as the people I got to know in the book. I can with Michel, but he also had the least screen time out of the three so that's probably part of the reason. The others just weren't the same for me.
