Seeing a few posts about people thinking the Fury with a sniper doesn't work.
I'm surprised because in an old Hipster Builds post I had someone suggest I try a Fury with a Black Widow. I did and it worked out quite well actually.
Curious why some people think it won't work. Have you tried it? It can be quite fun. It takes a different mind set to make it work than you're typical Fury-play though.

I met a quite competent AF'less Fury with a Javelin.
But still if you want to snipe and want an instant stagger power, pick either Salarian or Quarian Infiltrators. Both are noob friendly and you will deal a lot more damage.
My Fury Build is BSN Heresy....I only put 3 ranks into AHfield...AND..I use an assault rifle on her....I just make her a biotic soldier.....Dark Channel..., shoot ...throw..Kaboom..I used to play the typical run around nuclear bomb setup..but for some reason I tried what i use her for now and my score went way higher.
Good players can make almost any kit work

A gun as amazing as the black widow is going to be good no matter who you put it on. Not surprising. If I saw someone playing an adept and sniping with it I would make fun of them though.

Whatever floats your boat, but you're still doing it wrong. Besides Dark Channel spam rapes ear drums. Also, Prollector is more effective at that.
You know, a shuriken on the Volus merc works too. So that doesn't mean much. You're clearly not building the character to her strenghts, and are therefore playing way sub optimally.

Very good point... If you use a weapon that goes against the character's strengths, you actually do more harm than good... You cant improve a fury with an SR

The idea (read: gimmick?) behind the build the guy proposed didn't seem to be solely the stagger. It was a combination of what a Fury can do to a spawn if needed, albeit less often; coupled with the ability to teleport through walls and a weapon that's good at shooting through said wall. All on a kit that takes adrenaline mods up to Drell level. (Literally, no? Speccing AH to movement puts her at Full Fitness Drell speed right? Honest question.)

Ofc it's not ideal, but I did pretty damn good with it and suspect many would. I'd say her standard build's biggest downfall is she's either in C.Q.C. or she's really not doing much. This extends her effective range if you land in Condor/Rio instead of Glacier/White.
All that being said, my Fury's not currently specced that way and it's not something I've done much. I'm just amused at people saying it's wrong and volus/shuriken comparisons when I think it works, well... well.

Nope. She gets the same bonuses to speed that way, but that's not all there is to it. Drell have a way above average speed as a base, and a completely sick acceleration parameter. The fury only has the standard human ones.
Still, she's pretty fast

I like that this thread exists, but I've not read anything that makes me see it as anything close to playing to any strengths she has. You create a fast teleporting sniper, but why? In the way this game works, hoew does that create a good sniper in game?
How does any of her speed or dodge compliment sniping? As you said her powers are significantly gimped at range, so they're not boosting her sniping abilities.
I'd imagine it goes along the lines of casting dark channel (long range hitscan power), shooting with warp ammo, dodging through cover into more cover, acquire next target.
This is only hard to understand if one thinks everyone is trying to max out damage or optimize gamestyle. A lot of the posters here are just interested in trying non-obvious stuff to see what happens.
Making her a sniper kind of eliminates annihilation field from being a major factor in her game play. It's possible to do but it's ignoring one of the better adept powers in the game.
Not that it won´t work, but the question was what kits you see people sucking most with. Meeting people with sniper Fury usually means they don´t know what to do with her. I guess they can´t get the hang of CQC biotic explosions style, so they opt for sniping and in turn fail with her, beacuse she´s not built for sniping. A competent player, who deliberately makes her sniper is probably knowing how to counter it and make it work. But those I don´t meet often.
I once equipped the Fury with the Javelin and the Spitfire, but that was only for trolling BioticPulse in the lobby 
As others have said, it's not that playing her that way won't work, it's just not complimentary to her skill set. She has a close range biotic primer that doesn't go on cooldown except once or twice a wave, and a super fast recharging detonator. She has close range shield leeching, CQC stagger, and AOE. She was designed to be aggressive and in the face of the enemy. That being said, just because you have a sports car doesn't mean you have to floor it all the time, you can take a nice slow drive every now and then. Personally if I wanted to do a "biotic sniper" I'd probably put the Huntress, Commando, Drell Adept, and even Slayer ahead of her. But as long as you're having fun and you're not face down the whole match, anything goes really.

you are denying youself and your team of numerous and massive biotic boom booms especially if other biotics on team if you want to snipe play something different and something that gives you even more damage to that sniper rifle you choose
