Absolutely meaningless. His only purpose was to save the Hero of Fereldan if you opted to do so.
if Keiran is a human child and not a god...

How so The US is an ending self contained in DAO it doesn't need any recognition it is an ending. The DR however as lord karen101 clearly pointed out it was handled in a manner beyond farcical
LOL, delude yourself. Both choices are mutually exclusive if one of them is meaningless then so as the other.

If Kieran is human, he doesn't talk like he is brain dead.

If Keiran possesses the Old God soul, it is taken by Flemeth. If Flemeth comes into possession of it, it could influence other events to happen in future events after the ending of DA:I. I'm hoping it's not just tossed into the fire pit and made irrelevant.

Certainly more formidably than some semi autistic miscreant.
He's a mortal that's touched the divine, especially a divine who's body has recently been destroyed. I'm honestly not that surprised by Kieran's strange behavior, I do find his little lore hints fascinating.

I actually like the way it was handled. If Kieran was OGB then he does seem a little "odd" which is not surprising, yet not overly so. It definitely added something to the confrontation between Morrigan and Flemeth. If Kieran was not OGB then at least he wasn't forgotten about, which I thought they might have done since it had only been rumoured Morrigan was pregnant if you had slept with her in the normal way. When he was staring at my Inquisitor, who is a Dalish elf, I wondered if Morrigan had told him that his father was a Dalish elf too and whether his interest was not really my ears, as my Inquisitor thought, but the poor kid might have thought the Inquisitor was his dad. The fact that the non-god Kieran came across as much more normal showed they had taken the trouble to differentiate between the two.
I really don't know why people would expect any more; it was obvious the OGB could never be a really big deal because of the fact that he didn't have to occur at all in game, so could hardly be a major plotline. It would seem that whatever is at work in that whole god soul transfer thing, Solas will just be that bit more powerful in the OGB version. The fact is we only have the Grey Warden's word for it that the old god's soul is lost forever if you take the Ultimate Sacrifice. It could be that it was sent back into the ether of the Fade to reform and the reason Flemeth wanted it captured was so it retained more of its original identity and you didn't have to go hunting through the Fade to find it. So either way the soul of the old god could have survived; simply with the OGB more people know about it.
