Is more of the same. If you liked the main game, you'll probably like this DLC too, although I think it is overpriced for the actual content it provides.

Next is my opinion on some aspects, there are no story spoilers, but it has a summary of what the DLC contains:

Spoiler

In summary: cool stuff and interesting lore but overpriced. I almost regret buying it, but I had some fun playing, so I think my punctuation is something around 3/5. The main concern is the price, so if you think all the content that provides is worth 15$ then buy it, otherwise better save those 15$ for a better DLC.

I read some reviews they seem to talk negatively about story and quests being boring and same from main game.

Since the two reasons you play rpg's is for quests lvling and story and both seem to suck in this is it even worth the price?

To answer your question, no the dlc isn't bad. Actually it's quite enjoyable.

The people who say that it's just more of the same are wrong. The dlc is like a history/lore field trip. You go out and do a quest then go to one of the lore givers who discuss the new knowledge that your adventuring has thrown up.  I wont go into detail on who the lore givers are or what lore they give you as this is the No Spoiler section of the forum.

There are a few puzzles during the main quest that are not too difficult complete (I didn't have to cheat once).

On the whole the dlc was fun to play, the combat AI seemed better than it had in the actual game and the fights were more of a challenge and there is some good loot to be found.  I can see why some people would say that it should be 30% cheaper but I think I got/am getting value for money out of it.

If you think that we got the chest and armor colour-er and will get the BE for free you can't really complain that they are ripping us off.

One that is from DAI fanboys who will defend the game religiously and say the DLC is great.

One from DAI haters (like myself) that makes it their mission to make sure Bioware knows there is much disatisfaction with DAI despite it being the most "suscessful" Bioware game to date.

One that is the truth.....

No, one is YOUR opinion.

Can anyone confirm if the party banter is 'new' party banter or what we'd hear from wandering around the main game? I'm really curious. My beloved Sera never talks anymore as we've spent way too much time together. I'd love to hear some new lines if she has any.

I got both new and old banter. Sera banter alone made the DLC worth it. Oh, and the

I liked it, I wish the story content in most of the base game zones were as good as this. It equals my favourite areas (Emerald Graves and Crestwood) in terms of atmosphere, and Crestwood for story content. It is more of the same that we got in DAI but beefed up a bit narratively, which was good for me because I liked DAI, I just wish the story content of the zones had been stronger. If you didn't like the exploration etc in DAI, then this isn't going to change your mind and this dlc is not for you.

Combat is harder, which is also great for me, there is new party banter, and some new dialogue/interaction with Scout Harding (who I love, so hooray). The new area is gorgeous and the storyline/lore are enjoyable. I played just over 10 hours, and the dlc cost £11.99 in the UK.

In all, worth it for me. I'd have preferred it to come in a little cheaper (say a tenner), but I've paid more for full length games that have only lasted as long or not quite as long, and given that I'm spending quite a lot of time indoors at the moment (I have a newborn) it was a fun way to pass some time.

This post both makes me more excited for the DLC and gives me hope that I'll have *some* time to play games with a newborn, lol. (Congrats :)

Cheers Nimlowyn, gratz and all the best to you too! I do have to time it for when my boy's napping or feeding, and I've had to rebind keys so I can do most things just with the mouse, but it's possible so far. I hope you manage some time for yourself and some sleep too! :)

Whoops sorry, we're not expecting just yet, but hopefully I'll have a different story for you once I graduate next Spring. ;)

I'm enjoying it, the new area is so pretty and varied, with shining water views and large wonderful trees and high high hills. The town is cute and interesting too. I have found some nice crafting stuff and some more recipes too. I loved discovering the new little shops, its exciting to see do they have anything I could use. Oh and I got a new staff, its quite good for me at the level I am at. I'm pleased!

I haven't yet finished the story but I am enjoying just exploring and doing the little things.

As for the price, no problem for me.

I think of the amount of time and effort that went into making this extra map and the wee stories and the fact the I love Dragon Age games so I have no problem spending that money. My husband and I would spend more than that going for a coffee and cake and we eat that in no time,  playing this dlc I have already enjoyed 4-5 hours and will do a lot more in my next playthroughs.

(I would like some unique armours and hairstyles too but I'm hoping they are coming)

i brought it regardless of the price (around $15 usd in Singapore) but found it a bit too short, like most DLCs. and it does nothing to advance the plot.

seeing that DAI is the only game (after Origins) that has a good chance for an expansion like Awakening, finding a bit sad it does not. I mean i dont even need new areas, i just want the storyline to evolve esp after the "did not answer everything and post multiple questions" post-ending.

That the game's story is interesting but it is not connected.

Spoiler

People ask for so much reactivity to everything. If the event doesn't shatter the very core of the setting then it's worthless.

I'd honestly love someone to point me towards ONE game that makes every choice tangibly remodel the entire game setting to any significant effect.

Where the hell did these expectations come from? It sure hasn't from any BioWare game ever. Any software-based RPG for that matter.

Origins.

Poison the urn, Leliana, depending on interraction before and after will attack you and will "die".

Werewolf or Dalish elf help in the end.

Mage or templar help in the end.

Do Alistairs quest while saying the right things and you can make him king.

Etc.

I never expected something like Corypheus would never attack anyway depending on your choices, small changes. Both when it comes to your interraction with the companions and interraction with others.

One would have thought that there would actually be an improvement in the RPG scene, but we do not want it enough apparently, because we are perfectly happy with just an illusion of making a choice rather than actually making a choice.
